The food was bland and the duck meat was fatty too fatty, more fat than meat he ordered duck with plum sauce it was disgusting and not edible, swilling in butter grease l dont know where the plum sauce was!!! my sons 21st all the dishes were tasteless none of the meat was tasty nothing that should of been crispy was, a birthday family takeaway it was horrible all the dishes we ordered were bland no Chinese should taste like this awful, won't ever use this Chinese again ruined our evening spent just shy of £100.

just moved to felixstowe decided to try a barbecue sauce to add to my own homemade chicken balls and egg fried rice..wow what a disgusting bland sauce..ive done deliverys for chinese indian etc for over 30 yrs and was taught by very good chefs..that aint no authentic bbq sauce its a diluted out cheap ready mix..i was going to order pancake rolls an easy test if they fresh u get the crunch of beansprouts if not u get a mush in a pastry shell..i wont order from these anymore the food is substandard.

1st time using this takeaway, had 6 different dishes. Phoned the order, was told it would be 15 minutes, the food was waiting for us to pickup on time Hot and very tasty, great value 🍜

Everything Was lovely. The food was delicious. Staff were lovely on the phone. It dose take awhile to get though to them if you’re getting a delivery. My only complaint was the delivery driver on Christmas Eve wasn’t nice. I understand that they were most probably stressed but I didn’t appreciate the way he spoke to me.

Chinese dishes are amazing. Don't think they should do Thai!? Thai green curry ordered 7/12 was white, not green. I love hot food but the heat was off the chart. Phad Thai noodles ...think they mixed this up with someone's chicken chow mean! More like spaghetti than phad thai and literally just chicken and the noodles. Nothing else.

First time takeaway from China City, very good service, food was well prepared and served nice and hot, lady was very pleasant on the telephone. After trying most of the other Chinese takeaways in Felixstowe, this is the best by far. Very tasty food, would highly recommend.

The lady who usually serves us be it over the phone or in person is so RUDE. 0 Customer skills, you are a problem to her - but we cant personally fault the food.

Food is good . It's very expensive. And they treat customers like Leper's . Keep you behind a plastic screen. Money has to be put into a box then passed into a little glass cupboard. Then they pass the food back through the same place. But they are happy to take your money ???

Arrived on holiday at Felixstowe Beach holiday park and looked for a local Chinese. Found this one closest and it is superb!

A very warm welcoming on arrival with perfect portion sizes and food was full of flavour.

Have had many a takeaway from here in past. We have alays had excellent food. However last night's food was appalling, out of 5 items ordered only the crispy chilli beef was good, Singapore noodles were dry and flavourless, salt and pepper ribs were under par, salt and pepper chicken was tough along with the stay chicken. The satay sauce had been over cooked and was lumpy. On the whole a very disappointing meal and certainly not worth £40.

What an utter disapointment. Came down from Yorkshire to visit family decided on chinese for dinner. I can honestly say this is thee worse chinese food i have ever eaten. The pad thai was really dry had no flavour and the noodles were clumped together. The special fried rice again was dry ,had no flavour and was stuck together. The starters should have been pancake rolls but we ended up with small spring rolls. We will not be visiting again thats for sure. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.

After 3 deliveries with wrong contents I thought I'd try pick up. My order was confirmed back to me but got home and it was wrong again. Definitely won't use or recommend anymore

I think with everyone she does this, and whoever is not careful, it is her luck. She's really rude, I said it happened once, twice by mistake, but no, she's used to always cheating!!!!

Every dish wash washed with salt. And was offered some free chips what a joke of a business. Absolutely disgusting rude staff when asked why they used so much salt and salted the chips with god knows how much she kept saying hang on while answering another phone. Place is a joke AVOID

First time I have used China City as it’s close to my caravan park. Excellent food and good size portions. Very efficient service and the takeaway was clean and tidy. Would recommend.

Food ok, bland but edible. I ordered chicken chow mein and chips. The chow mein was very dry with very little flavour, chips just as you expect. I was quite put off by the service. The mask wearing lady behind the several screens wasn’t very friendly, shouting my amount without any acknowledgment of thanks. The same routine when the food was ready, shouted my number and even though I said thank you very much, the zero non plus silent response was the same. Thanks but I’ll try elsewhere when I’m in the area again. On my experience of bland food and poor customer service, I wouldn’t recommend.

Tasteless meal.. rude staff on duty. Said we were early to pick up our meal...we were 5 mins early but didnt mind waiting. Curry was Luke warm. Rice soggy. Sweet sour prawns were shrimps...but charged still for prawns.

Most of our order was wrong after waiting well over an hour & when i rang to complain our order which was read back to me was nothing like i had ordered. Had to wait another 40 mins for the correct order to be delivered!!! Food was not great & deffo won’t be using again. Very disappointing!!!

3rd time they got my order wrong...wrong food asked for No Peas as I have an allergy...but still get it wrong. Disgusting service. All they busy laughing and joking in the back....if you have an allergy STAY WELL CLEAR...As they don't listen to you.

The waiting time is average unlike a lot of the reviews suggest, and the food is alright but nothing more, quite greasy. I've moved onto a competitor not far from them.

Good selection of both Chinese and Thai food. Always find the food from here good and they will increase the heat of the Thai food if asked but their chilli level indication is fairly accurate.

Not local but wow absolutely lovely food 100% recommend

I ordered an aromatic quarter duck from them. This food is supposed to be about juicy little meat pieces and crispy skin. I received a whole dry duck leg. When I called to complain, the takeaway said they do it this way, and if people ask them to shred the meat, they do it for them. You should have asked me about this when I ordered the food, as you are the only takeaway that does it this way. I paid way too much money for this rubbish. Never again

Best Chinese in Ipswich!!! Used to be our local but we still travel back here despite living quite far away. Agree that the prices have gone up but it is still worth it. Yummy.

First time we have visited here as we have a caravan on a nearby park. The food was excellent and good quality and good size portions. I also noted how spotlessly clean the takeaway was, always a good sign. It was also very safe bearing in mind Covid is still with us. Will definitely go there again.

Unfortunately this takeaway is progressively getting worse. I've been buying food from here since the day it opened. The prices were good, the portions were good, the quality was good. But now its done a complete turn and got very expensive. Shame 😔

Ordered as a treat for my birthday. We chose individually rather than from the set menu. Portions are large so make sure you are sharing or have a large appetite. The chicken chow mien had plenty of chicken and freshly cooked. Used their delivery service and was delivered on time. Will return again. Hard to say whether the best Chinese takeaway in Felixstowe though as there are many good ones.

Satay chicken skewers--- ok until you realise that they have layered the base of the tray with 8 slices of foul tasting cucumber...crispy chilli beef--- a tray full of dry crispy beef not cooked in a sauce but instead accompanied by a small polystyrene cup of very runny liquid with chopped chilli's floating in it!..the other dishes I ordered weren't that great but edible...save yourself from disappointment and go elsewhere..

Had another gorgeous takeaway from here last night. Efficient ordering and delivery time was exactly as stated. Lovely freshly cooked, hot and tasty food. (Never had anything less). Definitely the best chinese takeaway in Felixstowe as far as we are concerned!! Well done China City. We will be back.

The staff were rude and they got our order wrong after reading it out to them and checking everything was there 3 TIMES! Everything was greasy and bland and the Crispy Shredded Chilli Beef tasted like literal sweat. I definitely won't be eating here again.

I don't like to write bad reviews but this was probably the worst chinese I've ever had. We picked up the order and there was food missing. We phoned up to ask about the missing food and they denied it even though we repeated our order multiple times. The food itself was greasy and tasteless. We won't be ordering from here again.

Having read good reviews about this place we thought we would give it a go, we should have put the phone down when a very rude and abrupt man demanded £1 for a half mile delivery for a £36 order! Instead I ordered and collected it. The Crispy Aromatic Duck was good, lots of it and very tasty. The Ribs were overcooked and swimming in a tastless slop! Beef in black bean sauce was OK, just OK, not great! Special fried rice was greasy and filled with unidentifiable scraps of meat and overcooked shrimps. Sweet and Sour Chicken did not mention it was in batter, overcooked and in a slop that bore no resemblance to Sweet and Sour! Finally a Grilled Chicken that did not mention it was in breadcrumbs (Isn't Schitzel German?)and sat in a Garlic sauce (Isnt that French?) That was little more than slop! We will not be returning!

Usual Chinese takeaway was closed on a Tuesday, so tried China City. They need to read your order back to you before you pay, that way you can find out before you get home that they misheard your order and you've ended up with items you didn't want!

FOOD delicious and the wonderful delivery driver always gets it to us piping hot. .Ordered last night and plenty to eat. BIG THANKs. Looking forward to next time we visit relatives. Lovely staff on phone too

This is the best Chinese we have found in England. Another review says you don't get a lot for your money, but I strongly disagree. the portions are generous and the quality is excellent. Only been let down once when the curry sauce wasn't delivered, but the other 100 or so times it's been perfect.

Whilst we were staying at a holiday park down the road from this takeaway we had 3 takeaways from here one we had delivered and two we picked up. The delivery service was excellent the gentleman delivered it straight to our caravan. The food was one of the best Chinese we have ever had. The portions were large and the food excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Great tasting food always happy to return

We have always found the China City food to be excellent. Delivery times may sometimes be over an hour long, but you are told this when booking. food always arrive piping hot and fresh.

No complaints what so ever, everything was lovely. Staff were friendly, service was good. Next time I'm in Felixstowe, I will definitely go back.
