One of the best experiences we’ve had in in St Albans. The food was amazing and well priced and staff were so so lovely we couldn’t recommend it more. Special shout out to our lady server who was more than accommodating and especially sweet. We had a small wait when we got there and she made sure we were looked after all night. 10/10 we will be coming back <3

Been coming here for years and the food is always fantastic but lately has been very disappointing to notice that they give priority to the various delivery companies like just eat and Deliveroos over paying customers in the restaurant. There is a constant in and out of drivers, the doors are often open and forgotten open making unbearable to sit near the door in this weather. the waiting time has got longer and longer because of that too. Please find an alternative solution because you will start losing customers over this!

Rude staff and slow service. Proprietor became threatening, when I dared to complain. Codess on Victoria Street is a good alternative. Avoid!

This place is so lovely the food is perfect such a lovely space , the staff are friendly and helpful .., open for wonderful tapas Thursday Friday and Saturday nights . Great wine and cocktails .

Markyate is better than anywhere in Dunstable Luton &surrounding areas. I was going to write a review last time. But after another delicious meal tonight, Here I am. The best donner meat , lovely staff clean shop. Why would you go anywhere else?

Very conscientious about allergens, thank you to Shanaya for making sure I felt very safe ordering! Very meticulous in showing me she was cleaning everything and using new products to avoid cross contamination, even in the morning rush.

We enjoyed a fabulous evening at Vill2. We booked the private mezzanine for my wife's surprise ' special ' birthday with family and friends, 20 in total ranging from a toddler up to 60+ years old. The food was fabulous with a selection of tapas for starters and a pre chosen set of mains. The choice is good, as is the wine, cocktails, beer, and bubbly choice. Freddy was exceptionally helpful throughout from initial booking to hands on service on the night, including allowing us early access for table decorations, use of their tv for a ' through the years' photo compilation, balloons etc.. The venue is elegant, the staff very friendly, and the service and ambience superb. We will definitely return and highly recommend Villa2.

Booked Christmas lunch based on a recommendation and it was a good recommendation. Nick the manager is very accommodating and the food was excellent. The tasting menu had if anything too much food, so no complaints. We eat in central London a lot and some restaurants there could learn from Thompson. The staff were probably all students however they were focused on making sure we had a good time and providing a good level of service. Not the least bit pretentious as some London restaurants can be. We all had the wine pairing which was generous. The prices are not cheap but when we consider the whole experience we thought it was well worth it. Value for money. We were delighted we picked Thompson for Christmas Day.

First time visiting the restaurant with a friend. Friendly helpful staff. Had three mezes to start followed by a main each. We drank a really good Turkish red wine. We ended the meal with Baklava and Turkish coffee. The food and wine were excellent and if I'm ever in St Albans again I will be back!

We visited Bar Meze after personal recommendation as one of their favourite places to eat in St. Albans, and it is very easy to see why. Fouad greeted us with open arms, inviting us into his family restaurant. Immediately, you are given unmatched service and care, a constant throughout our evening. The food is delicious, made with both passion and care, with Fouad excited to share his personal recommendations based on your preferences and tastes. We were presented with some beautiful dishes that we enjoyed sharing, right up to dessert. Personal highlights include the Egyptian Pastry, the Swordfish, the plethora of breads and dips, and the Knafeh. We honestly can’t recommend Bar Meze enough, and we are looking forward to coming back already.
