Villa 2 Lounge Bar in St Albans

We enjoyed a fabulous evening at Vill2. We booked the private mezzanine for my wife's surprise ' special ' birthday with family and friends, 20 in total ranging from a toddler up to 60+ years old. The food was fabulous with a selection of tapas for starters and a pre chosen set of mains. The choice is good, as is the wine, cocktails, beer, and bubbly choice. Freddy was exceptionally helpful throughout from initial booking to hands on service on the night, including allowing us early access for table decorations, use of their tv for a ' through the years' photo compilation, balloons etc.. The venue is elegant, the staff very friendly, and the service and ambience superb. We will definitely return and highly recommend Villa2.

We had a first-class meal here: a wonderful butternut squash soup and hummus dip followed by succulent chicken schnitzels. Service from a very pleasant young lady was outstanding.

What a brilliant lunch we had today sitting outside on the deck. The food was great (chicken schnitzel, one with caesar salad and the other with a fantastic greek salad). Drinks, food and coffees came to less than £20 a head. Why would you go to a chain and be served ready meals when you can get freshly cooked food of this quality and at this price? We will return

The service was fantastic. We were served by Daisy who was lovely and really went above and beyond to make our visit great. The drinks are incredible, i would definitely recommend going during their 2 for 1 deal!! Our only complaint/ concern would be with the manager, I believe his name was Freddie. The way he was talking to his waitresses was just rude and nasty. Finally, the service charge doesn’t go to the waitresses or bar staff which seems very cheeky and I believe it’s unlawful. However the bar is very pretty, service is very good and the cocktails are delicious. So we would definitely recommend

Unfortunately my experience at villa 2 lounge was not a good one at all. My Maid of honour booked this place for my Hen do and although the reviews are great and the photos look amazing this is not the experience we had. We booked this venue a good 6 weeks in advance with Freddy who over the phone was very attentive and charming, we were asked if we would like a private VIP room which we declined as we wanted to experience the full atmosphere of the restaurant and did not want to be in a room by ourselves, a table was booked for dinner and drinks for 5pm. On arrival we were told that the football was showing and that our table had been given away and we were now being sat in the VIP which was actually up the stairs in the roof of the building it was dark and no background music at all, it consisted of a few very small very low tables and a few stalls which we had to drag altogether ourselves to make one big table, there was no dinner set up no cutlery nothing.. My maid of honour was extremely upset. Freddy came up the stairs looking rather stressed out, no smiles or a greeting or anything just asked if we needed the food menu which i replied yes please it was always booked as a sit down meal which to then Freddy ignored and walked off after dumping the menus down and I didn't see him again. Now I understand that the football is a big thing and I myself have watched quite a few games this year but not once was it mentioned that it would be showing, my Maid of honour had quite a few chats with Freddy leading up to the day and we think it could of been mentioned to us that this was the case so we could of made up our mind weather to stay or change to a venue more suited to a hen do. On the whole this ended up with our party of 15 woman feeling very unhappy with the situation and very neglected forcing us to end the night and leave early which was hugely disappointing for me as you only get 1 hen do right?? and that is now what I will remember.. Also my Maid of honour spent 100's on a wasted night and is still quite upset. Villa 2 lounge we feel very let down with this and I hope you do better with future hen parties in the future. We shall not be returning.

We first came here a few months ago to meet with Freddy to potentially book the venue for our wedding reception in September which we did and paid the deposit on the day, we went there again today to have lunch and discuss wedding things and Freddy, Elvis and the team have been great, very helpful and friendly and the food we had today was unreal, and big portions. Highly recommend Villa 2 and looking forward to our wedding reception here in September! Thanks guys from Shaun & Steph!

We had our engagement party here on Saturday and the team at Villa2 exceeded our expectations. They were in contact with us throughout the lead up to the event to ensure it ran smoothly and also gave us advice when it came to food, music and layout of the bar for our event. The food was so tasty and the cocktails were flowing throughout the night. Any request we made to the team was dealt with quickly and with a smile! Highly recommend this place for an event if you’re looking for somewhere in Stalbans. Such a great vibe!!

Had a great evening on Thursday celebrating a friends birthday , The cocktails were amazing and the happy hour deal made it even better , the food was really lovely , atmosphere great and our waitress Daisy was so lovely , very friendly and chatty we all thought she was great , all the staff went out of their way so make an effort , shame the sun wasn’t out so we couldn’t enjoy the outside area which is perfect in the sunshine . Look forward to returning soon . Great place to go in st Albans .

Visited with another couple, two small dogs and a baby for a late lunch. Great food Amazing cocktails Very accommodating Great atmosphere

Very good service, lovely food and lovely wine! Great menu to chose from... not to extensive. Thank you for a wonderful lunch, really enjoyed! Will defo be returning :)
