Great food and very friendly & helpful staff! Highly recommend

Non è un ristorante italiano questo è poco ma sicuro. Nel complesso ho dato quattro stelle perché il cibo è molto buono e l'ambiente molto carino anche se piccolo. Il problema è "vendere" un piatto italiano che non ha nulla di italiano. Ad esempio la bruschetta con ricotta e prosciutto (come era scritto sul menu e come vedete anche dalla foto) era la pizza con sopra il prosciutto crudo e la philadelphia. La carne era un po' dura, il salmone invece buono. Nel complesso, ripeto, tutto buono ma meglio scrivere sul menu gli ingredienti esatti.

First time visit but will definitely visit again. Had the calzone which was fantastic and service was friendly and welcoming

Dined with a group and a number of main courses arrived with no vegetables at all. At no time when ordering were the clients told vegetables were an extra and not included. Good service but very poor communication with customers.

The food was excellent, we have been traveling for 4 weeks and stumbled upon this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. The service was outstanding as well as the staff. Wish we had a restaurant as good as this one in Seattle, Washington.

La Stazione is the new place to go for excellent food/service/atmosphere and prices!!

There were 10 of us for a lunch booking. Food was delicious and service excellent very relaxed atmosphere.

Gross. Just threw it in the bin. How anyone can give this place 5 stars needs to get out more. Nothing authentic Italian about this place. I ordered spaghetti marinara. Seafood, except it was dry, tasteless no seasoning even after me asking for it. The worst part was the prawns disintegrated! Literally like powder, the mussels were like rubber and as an Italian I can tell you now the chef isn't Italian. Who puts basil on seafood!!! You use parsley. If you're switched on and have been to Italy or know authentic Italian food you'll know we don't use pitta bread or peppers in our salads. There's definitely an element of another culture here and it isn't Italian!

Lovely food, but we waited over an hour for our starters, my partner got hers and then 35 minutes later I got mine. Unfortunately not even on a busy day. Would consider going back as again the food was pretty good but very off-putting wait times, even between drinks (again my partner received her drink then 10 minutes later I received mine)

Dined here on Sunday night. The service from our waitress was Incredible. Super friendly and great with children. The food was very high quality and Uber tasty. All 6 of us will be back again. Thank you for a great evening.

I've been to this restaurant twice, the first time in June 2023 and again in July 2023. In the first time, I found the food here to be very good and very good service . My absolute favorite was the seafood risotto, It had a distinct sea smell and taste, and the calamari was outstanding. However, when I returned a second time, I found the calamari not as good as the first time. but overall I will probably go back to eat at this restaurant again.

I've been here for four visits, and each one has been first class. The food is really excellent - especially an insalata tricolore to die for. There was enough vegetarian choice for me -- I had a spaghetti puttanesca without the anchovies. My chum's omnivore needs were well catered for too. Everyone was happy. And don't get me started on the desserts. The creme brulee was just right. The staff are very friendly and the prices are certainly very reasonable. I'll continue to return. Strongly recommended.

After a failed trip to London we came across this little gem on the way home. Food was fabulous as were the staff. Will definitely be going back.

Very nice authentic Italian food. Recently opened I believe and their food is to die for. Local comfort food and I’ll definitely be visiting again! Also the decor is pretty nice too

Loved this place, great authentic Italian food and attentive service. St Albans is blessed with some great restaurants (and some distinctly average ones) this one is def the former!

The decor is lovely, nice cozy restaurant. The staff was amazing, very welcoming and polite. Made our time here a nice, relaxing few hours even with the kids. All staff have great communication skills. The food was unreal, lots of flavour and cooked to perfection. The Calabrese pizza was fantastic and great value for money. This might be our new favourite restaurant. Can't wait to visit again!

Food was excellent. Cooked to perfection. The presentation of the food was top notch and the service was very professional.

We tried this place on a whim and I have to say the experience has left me looking forward to coming back again. The service is friendly and attentive without being in your face or in any way sycophantic. The menu is relatively small but varied enough to be interesting. I wouldn't normally have Chicken; too many times I've had chicken that is overcooked but this was perfect in every respect. My wife had lamb that she requested to be cooked rare. It was cooked exactly as she requested. I shall have the lamb next time I'm next in St.Albans and I can hardly wait.

Excellent food, decor & staff. Had the most lovely meal out with family last night (for only £12.90 for two courses!) Would highly, highly recommend this place. We will be back!

We got one lost one night at St. Albans and ended up in this restaurant. Ambience is really good and cozy. Food was superb and the chef cooked us something special thar night (not on the menu). Staff are friendly. Will definitely go back again.

Nice food, great staff. I had mussels to start then pasta and cheesecake desert. Very nice but nothing outstanding. I would go back but there’s a lot of competition out there…

We were celebrating a birthday and there were eight of us-age range 9 years to sixty nine years. Great service, atmosphere and delicious food very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back very soon. Thank you so much. We had a super evening.

Inpromto lunch stop We had the Ravioli special with spinach cheese and mushroom sauce, which was very authentic and fresh. Followed by creme brulee. Excellent friendly service

New Italian restaurant,the food,cocktails and staff were superb,nothing too much trouble.Shared starter with my daughter,Bruschetta,then I had a pizza,she had carbonara,it was all a delight and very reasonably priced.Mehmet and the other staff,we will be back soon.

Really enjoyed the meal, I had the seafood risotto which was excellent and my friend had a pizza, also excellent. House wine was as per the description, nice and smooth. And I like the way they've decorated the restaurant as well, it creates a very stylish atmosphere.

The waiter was very nice and welcoming, and the alcohol free drinks were realy tasty. I have ordered Steak medium rare, which is my to go choice when eating out. Steak came rather pale, as if not fried or grilled, but cooked or steamed... still can't figure out how it has been prepared. It was a very thin cut. It also came well done. It was dry and tasteless, unfortunately. Correct steak preparation is crucial to this dish and unfortunately I don't think the chef has the necessary skills to prepare it so it is tasty. Also, perhaps investing in better ingredients, could be a good option. As a person who eats beef steaks almost every day, I can easily recognise good quality of meat, and this particular piece of meat has not been up to any restaurant standards. Balsamic vinegar on salad was not a balsamic vinegar but sugary sticky ready made sauce. My companion dish was ok, although side brocoli came over cooked and soggy, and roasted tomatoes were cold, so gold they must have been stored in the fridge. The main character in the restaurant, who probably is the owner, was not really friendly, and he kept walking back and forth without reason, creating quite tensed atmosphere. The music to start with was gentle italian, but has changed to Joline, which has been played so loud that we have felt it was not very welcoming anymore and we have left without even finishing our drinks. I have mentioned twice my steak was not cooked right for what I have received 10% off my bill. Still I would not reccomend this place.

We stopped here for some lunch and were really happy - the food and service were both great. The Insalata Tricolore in particular was amazing and I would definitely recommend it to everyone!

I have ordered sea bass with lemon sauce which was ok however the baked tomatoes served along the fish were cold. Broccoli ordered as a side dish were soggy and way overcooked. Non alcoholic drinks were quite tasty. My friend's steak was overcooked (ordered medium rare but served well done). The atmosphere was bit awkward as we felt like we were being monitored by the staff.

I give a go even if I thought I wouldn't particularly enjoy it from the look of it. They offer a deal any pasta, any pizza with starter for 12.50 which was good start and the atmosphere was pretty cool with background sound of Italian songs. One thing I noticed are the stitches around the napkin being broken on both of the side, I think the business is running just for few weeks and my chair had a cut/hole. No big issue just odd to see such wear and tear in such short time of running a business. The place was empty, just another two people in, probably not very popular during lunch time. I decided to pick a bruschetta for my deal starter and my partner some chicken wings, not very Italian but probably meeting the British expectations. My bruschetta arrived on some sort of Pitta bread which I never seen in any Italian restaurant, usually served on a toasted slice of bread. Overall the starter was good just weird bread choice. My main food was good and warm but my partner had a cold dish which was supposed to be warm, I am not sure how you can go wrong with a lasagna unless is made or frozen , hopefully was a fresh backed but just reheated 😬 . The waiter took it back to be reheated and it was ok. We expected some sort of discount or not paying for one or two drinks due to a cold dish, not great to apologise for the experience. I am still shocked about how much it costs a simple coke, 3 GBP 🤯, even a diet one which it supposed to be cheaper due to the sugar tax but still the price was 3 GBP. I guess the restaurant is young and needs to learn about some mistakes but I am not sure I will go back any time soon.

We booked & visited this new resturant today & we were not disappointed. The food was cooked to perfection & the staff were very friendly & attentive - nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend. We will be revisiting very soon x

This was my 2nd visit to La Stazione. Food was as fresh and delicious. Staff was very friendly and the customer service was great overall. Generous portion sizes, good prices, quality dishes and nice atmosphere! Restaurant hygiene was great, the tables, floors etc. was very clean. Will certainly be coming here again! In fact, I've booked a table for a works do next month. La Stazione is becoming one of my most favourite places to eat now.

Excellent cocktails and classic dishes done superbly. It was quite quiet when we rocked up late on a Friday but the food and service was brilliant. Would definitely recommend and will be going back (especially for the chicken marsala)

What a lovely restaurant! I booked a table with my family. All 7 of us, including the kids, loved our meals which were cooked to perfection! Absolutely gorgeous! The staff were helpful and friendly and the service was first class. I definitely recommend this restaurant and will be going back soon.
