Phenomenal restaurant, probably the best Indian in Harpenden. Highly recommend the butter chicken!

I absolutely love this restaurant! I’ve been there multiple times and have always had a great experience. The food is delicious, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Especially Ash, he’s great!!,Because of his great service, I’ve even taken my colleagues and friends there for work functions and social events, even though I’m based in Luton.

Really great spot for some great Indian food. Recommend to book ahead, not because they are busy but because we’ve had odd service when not booking ahead even with the resultant half full for the entirety of our meal. This does not take away from the food which is amazing. Service after entry was great, friendly waiter, efficient etc. We ordered prawn puri and soft shell crab for starters and for main we had a selection of curries and rice. We’ve come a few times but always book now. Would recommend.

Lovely art throughout the restaurant, and great service for a large group; paneer and paratha were really delicious and a varied range of dishes to choose from, all very flavourful and aromatic.

This restaurant is awful. Unfortunately we decided to go here as a group of friends. When we got to this restaurant we ordered our food and drinks and was told to be quiet as the other guests didn’t like us having a conversation. I don’t know about anyone else but when going for dinner I expect to be able to speak to the people i am sat at a table with without being told to be quiet when paying £80+ for what we ordered. Rude staff, awful service and quite frankly made me feel the most uncomfortable I have ever felt in my life.

Been to Sarakh a few times now and it’s always consistent with the food and service. The atmosphere is always buzzing too and they seem to busy every time I’ve been so just be doing something right….

Dine-in, takeaway, and delivery - we've done it all. This is our go to Indian restaurant in town! Every order is rich in flavour, spices, and variety in taste. We always enjoy trying out something different from their specials menu along with our usual okra fries and smoked aubergine dish. This restaurant's food should be tried at least once, it'll never disappoint.

Had the Tandoori Prawns for the first here time tonight - Absolutely delicious. Such a varied menu! I defo recommend trying something new every time, I doubt you would ever be disappointed. As always the food and service was fantastic.

The kindness of the waiters and the way they talk and treat the customers with interest and humanity makes this place a winner . The food does come very good too.

Delightful evening out with friends at this restaurant with all its flavours of the Indian sub content regions. The food was excellent in quantity, taste, and price. Good atmosphere and decor. Friendly but professional service, in clean surroundings. Parking is available in two local free carparks, just a stones throw away. Good selection of bottled beers as well.

I was recommended to visit this restaurant… I had been looking for somewhere ‘different’ for my Birthday meal. It certainly didn’t disappoint! From the moment we were greeted on arrival to leaving… the staff could not have been more friendly- or efficient! The food was outstanding! The Keralan King Prawns as a main were fabulous… every bit as good as those I had on holiday in this wonderful State in India… in Sept 2023! If you haven’t been already: put it on your places to go to for 2024! I guarantee - you won’t be sorry you did! Thanks to all the staff at Sarah!

We ordered a take away. The food was really bland and tough. I ordered the monk fish dish which was £15. The fish was so tough I thought it was chicken. There was nothing else in the dish apart from a red sauce. Really disappointed. This was not Indian food as it didn’t taste of any of the wonderful Indian flavours. We had a side dish of mushrooms. They tasted like buttered breakfast mushrooms. No flavour again. Rice was OK and naan bread was dry and tasteless. Will not be visiting again and can not recommend.

I once again had a fantastic dining experience at this Indian. The food was delicious, with a great variety of flavors and spices. The service was attentive, and the ambiance was great. I highly recommend trying their Sri Lankan slow cooked lamb, it's a treat.

Came here on a Monday night on the whim and was surprised to find it was fairly busy! We were seated right away regardless (no booking but would advise). The waiter was super attentive! The food was flavoursome and well presented. The chicken was lovely and tender. I recommend the smokey aubergine mash on the side if you like something a little but not mega spicy. Reasonably priced for the amount of food we had! I wish we had discovered this place sooner as it is only around the bend from us. There's parking right outside on the street too. Only thing i will say it can get a little loud when it's busy but not a bad thing. We will be back 👌

Have been meaning to try Sarakh for a while and it did not disappoint. Really interesting menu, soft shell crab samosa was delicious as were all the dishes we tried. Cool interiors, friendly staff and great service. Will definitely be back!

Ordered twice for delivery with 2 hours warning. First time was 45 minutes late, second time (now) got to 45 minutes late so had to cancel and order a Pizza from Papa Johns…. These people have one job … and it’s not complicated…. By the way…. I don’t work for Papa Johns 😂😂

Feels like I'm the only person in Harpenden who hasn't visited Sarakh so when I came to town and my boyfriend proposed it for date night my answer was a resounding OH HELL YES. Ash and his lovely team lived up to the hype and looked after us brilliantly. The food was great and I loved the relaxed vibe. Decent value too. So first visit but definitely not the last. Thanks guys!

We pre-ordered home delivery for a party of 20. The food was delicious, arrived on time and Sarakh couldnt have been more helpful. Thankyou so much

Fantastic Indian restaurant in Harpenden. Really interesting range of options on the menu (we had paneer korai and pasanda, both of which were excellent. The poppadoms at the start of the meal didn't just have the standard ones, but a couple of spicy ones on top, and the menu included idli and dosa which are unusual in my experience in a British Indian restaurant. The waiter was very impressed with our clean plates ("That's what the chef likes to see!") which were achieved with the aid of couple of parathas, again unusual in a BIR. The decorating took us back to Kerala and our trips around Kovalam in a tuk-tuk.

Nice food but I felt it needed more seasoning as in salt, which is a first in an Indian restaurant. Also the waiter assigned to our table was a bit odd. And to top it all we went to the 6pm sitting and it was full of unruly children with useless parents from Harpenden (14 of them)

First time for us last night at Sarakh and we were blown away by the amazing food and the 5 star service. The staff were reading our minds all through our stay and even though the place was full, they were always ready and available to attend to our needs. Ash was wonderful, always had a kind word, not pushy, just absolutely perfect service. Our food was ready within 10 minutes from ordering, the naans were heavenly, the currys are warming and comforting. An unassuming place that is quite possibly the best in Harpenden.

The place looks fantastic, was full of people and the food was excellent. I don't know if it was because it was very busy but the staff were constantly rushing us and close to downright rude on occasions.

Best, Hot and spicy, aromatic and rich in taste. We will back, because service was friendly and very communicative. Dines was made very fast (10minutes), after dinner service delivered warm wet clothes towels. Naans very fluffy, curries rich in meat. Taste and service was great, price normal like others, 70pounds per 4 people with 1 beer and free water. Perfect!

The food was excellent, fresh celery, spring onions etc in my main. Clearly fresh naans, all lovely. Really very good! The missing star is solely down to slightly over friendly staff and very very uncomfortable seating! A great shame as I won’t go again unless I hear they have up dated the seating arrangements. We were in a booth where the seats were far too hard and the backs made you too far forward, really not the one! I know it’s based on road side dining and for that they get 5 stars. But to sit down for dinner it’s too uncomfortable.

Nice decour but fairly small restaurant. The food wasn't bad but nothing to be impressed by. The starters ( Pakora, dosa and potato balls) all lacked salt and were blunt. The main course we only enjoyed 1 out the two dishes we ordered which again lacked flavour and salt. I would definitely warn everyone to stay away from Srilankan slow cooked lamb. The portions are relatively small as well. The drinks were definitely the best bit and the service was fairly engaging. I would highlight though to let one waiter serve a table so your alternate waiters don't disagree with each others recommendations. I would advise people a visit as it is not a bad place and to make up their own mind. I don't think we will personally be returning. Thanks

Visited with my friend for dinner this evening! Very rude staff and not welcoming at all! As I live local, thought I would try and see what it’s like as it’s ‘Indian cuisine’ but clearly this is Bangladeshi food not Indian food! They speak in their own language so I couldn’t understand what they were saying. They kept hovering the table, watching us whilst we eat. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Amazing food every mouthfull was an explosion of flavour. The food is fresh and it shows. Nothing ive had has come close. It was that great i booked for a week later. Service was impecable my 7 yr old was treated so well its her favourite place now. Its a gem of a place. A must try for food lovers. Very reasonable price for the food.

The service was bad , they were rushing with our food and they asked us to leave as soon as possible since we hadn't booked a table and they had given us a table which was not booked . Would not go back there again just because of the service . We could not enjoy our food .

I placed a telephone order on a busy Friday night. My call was answered promptly and in a friendly manner. I placed my order and was given a time frame. I arrived and upon arrival I could see that the restaurant was packed. Everyone looked happy and seemed to be enjoying themselves. I approached the bar area and gave my name and some came out immediately with my order. About 5 members of staff came from the back and I was greeted and thanked by all. Did I mention that they were super busy? Overall a fantastic service offered and food was great also. Definitely give these guys a try, you won't regret it.
