The best restaurants in Thorpe Southend-on-Sea East of England

What a gem! Having driven by this place a number of times, I finally had an opportunity to pop in this Saturday afternoon. A friendly, welcoming place full of happy dogs, happy people and tasty home cooked food.

Went here for a private party and can only say, Foods fantastic, staff are brilliant

Lovely atmosphere. Great staff, very accommodating. The food was good and great presentation but did lack in choice. Would like to see more choices on the menu.

So attended this restaurant as a suprise from my other half. I ordered the rump steak with sweet potato fries, salad, coleslaw, and the broccoli and stilton. The steak was amazing i havent had a steak like this in ages. I love the fact you basically cook it yourself on the lava stone i like my steak still mooing so this was perfect for me. The sides where great and the pudding was okay. I have already recommended and will time and time again. I will be returning for sure. Staff where very welcoming as well. Thumbs up from me

Excellent location on such a beautiful day in early March. Lovely place with really good food. Unfortunately they got our order wrong twice but they soon sorted it out, it’s hard to be perfect. We would certainly visit again and again if we were local.

Went to s different toby carvery previous month and when we told our family about experience they said they always preferred this beach so decided to go. Unfortunately we agai man had a bad experience. We all ate different times due to lack of meat and some of us waiting around. Food was cold and hard. My dad even commented that although normally nice it was horrible. Waitress was pretty poor and abrupt and manager had no teeth!!!! Anyway thanks but no thanks was dire.

We received excellent service today from Carol. Friendly, fast and efficient. Food was great as always. Highly recommended.

Food was really nice and tasty Shane the waiter is rude off and totally not helpful - would go back definitely as the food was lovely but won’t because waiter was rude with no customer service skills

Initially thought this pub could do with a good refurb but once the lights dimmed in the evening it looked great LOL. Fish and chips was exceptional, would definitely eat here again

I never received my pork and apple sausage rolls only ended up with my drink and my brownie

Terrible food, curry sauce bland and not like a traditional curry sauce. Chips are not like traditional chips from a chippy and the bread rolls are burger buns. So poor.
