Very nice place, very good food on the lunch roast buffet,service very friendly and professional, big thanks to all team .well done.

Booked for 2 adults 3 children. Seated and drinks order was taken straight away. Food always lovely. Lots of vegetable choices. My favourite is the onions in gravy, that is a must for me! Mac n cheese on the children’s roast is always a hit.. Our meat was carved by Dave and our server was Carol.. No room for dessert. Will definitely return very soon.

The food was excellent as usual. The staff were busy but still managed to check in several times. The air conditioning was welcome break from the outside heat.

Lovely dinner ! Best roast potatoes I have had in a restaurant. Plenty of choice of meats and veggies. Waitress Juliet was friendly knowledgeable and cheerful. Have to mention Archie (Carver) , job done well. Will happily return for Lunch/Dinner. Not so much Breakfast as not refilled quick enough even though it wasn’t particularly busy, at only 9.45am.

The food and service were absolutely amazing, the server Danielle was lovely! We will recommend this toby to all our friends and family! The chef Lewis cooks amazing potatoes!

Was greeted by a friendly lady who showed us to our table and also took our drink order. Within a few minutes another lady (Vicky) came over to confirm we had ordered drinks and if we wanted the carvery. We placed a side order of some pigs in blankets and she stated it would be around 5-10 minutes and we could go up to join the queue whenever we liked, which we did. We were served by Danny who like vicky were brilliant and definitely front of house people. Food was good, what you expect from a toby. During our meal vicky popped over to check all was OK, we did notice she was darting all over the place and genuinely didn't stop the whole time we were there. She did it all with a friendly smile and a joke which was nice to have. Definitely made the meal that little better.

We came for a birthday celebration, (mums choice, apparently it meant there was no washing up for anyone!) 😂. The carver Dave was helpful, and our waitress Carol, was particularly attentive - especially as we had one veggie dining with us. Had a lovely meal and even took into account my special requests that I supplied when I made the booking. Thank you so much, all for of us enjoyed it. See you all again soon. 😊👍

Vicky has been my server twice now. She has been amazing will always go the extra mile for me and even popped a candle in my little girls pudding because she took note saying that she’s nearly 1 !

Mandi was lovely helped us with the app and was very friendly throughout the meal. She helped us get 25% off of our food which was amazing! Food was lovely as always :)

We were a party of Nine with a wheelchair user and multiple dietary requirements and Billy our server was excellent! Chris the Carver was also very helpful and pleasant!

Lovely visit! Relaxed meal in a lively restaurant, our server Glenn was patient and attentive, carver Dave was friendly another mention to Martin who made a lovely batch of Floater coffees. Had a great meal with family!

We were not warmly greeted. Attended on easter bank holiday - saturday morning at about quarter to 9. We followed the instructions to go the bar. After a minute, a female huffed and came behind the bar. She stood at the till and glared at us as if waiting for us to say something. No hello or anything. I kindly asked for breakfast and paid. She fiercely punched the touch screen with her fingernails, looking incredibly annoyed. She took our drinks order amd proceeded to slam the pineapple juice cartondown, slammed the glasses down on the counter and had such a stroppy attitude about her. Awful service. She didn't say thankyou when I made payment but I did say thankyou despite her attitude because I believe in good manners irrespective of how I'm feeling. She stopped off and collapsed back on her original chair. As I walked past I advised her that her service could have been better. Despite her attitude and despite me making it obvious I was not happy about it, she did not apologise once during our meal or check on us. The food was nice but plates dirty. Really poor customer service.

We were staying at the Premier Inn next door, not affiliated, so used it for breakfast. Buffet style £6.49 all you can eat BUT drinks are extra. No frill buffet with classic items on hot plate, diy toast. No fruit or pasties. Order and pay at the bar for food and drinks. What wasn’t classic was the breakfast Yorkshires, whose idea was that? Amazing, may have to become a thing at home. Shame they had bacon bits in though excluding vegetarians, this also applied the fried potatoes. Fried eggs on buffet, scrambled by request as are veggie sausages. Service friendly both for the buffet and a quick evening drink

We are regulars at the Halfway House, great service and food from the carver Archie and Carol, who looks after us very well. Highly recommended.

Had an amazing roast dinner tonight at the Toby carvery, Thorpe Bay. I had a voucher through so thought we could give it a try for a mid week meal and even though it was really busy the carver Dave was smiling and friendly. The meat and vegetables were replenished all the time so they were hot and fresh. I was really pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Glenn looked after us at the table and he was also welcoming, friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back again very soon .

Booked last minute online and had a lovely meal. Danielle our waitress was superb. Food great. Value for money. Lots of meat. Nice work Dave.

Went here for a family carvery and although the beef was rather tough our waitress Juliet couldn't be faulted. Juliet gives impeccable customer service and nothing was too much trouble. From the moment we arrived she made us feel welcome and, even though we moaned about the beef, she listened and ensured we left feeling happy. Nice selection on the carvery but disappointing they'd run out of meat and what wasn't was rather dry. Veggies, deserts and the service made up for it though. Very family friendly and accessible.

We're regulars here. At least once a month we dine with differnt couples. Today we were lucky to have Carol as our server. She, as always, was friendly and helpful, several times responding happily to our diffrrent requests. Lucky too to have Dave as our carver. Warm and chatty as he served what proved to be the best beef we've had at Toby. Nothing to much trouble quickly replenishing the Cranberry. Full marks for an enjoyable afternoon.

Our server Carol smelt absolutely divine. Total angel and had the most eloquent bed side manner and gentle hand have ever experienced. Her softly spoken voice is of the upmost relaxation. Now I must mention the inexplicable tasting food. The meat was something out of Hells Kitchen. The MOISTURE! 😻😻😻😻 the vegetables were crisped and salted with such vim I could not deny how much I loved them.
