Nice for midweek meal not too expensive. Parking is good. 3 Hours free as long as you register the car when you go in. Good atmosphere and good service

My son & I are staying at the Premier Inn next door, so went to go to the Beefeater for dinner. The Premier Inn website says it has an in-house Beefeater. Waited to be seen at the reception & seated, but got told in a rude manner that we are only taking bookings. Now if the restaurant was full we could have understood, but the restaurant wasn’t even half full & there was nobody else waiting to be seated. We won’t be back at the Beefeater even though we have a couple more nights booked, we’ll take our custom elsewhere.

What a massive disappointment, how is that place still open. Seats were ripped and sticky, table was stickier than 3m tape. Food was bland almost like the chef had given up.

Great service and went out of their way to make our little family holiday extra special. Even when it was busy at times the staff were brilliant. Jenette and Lucie deserve admirable mentions as their service was top notch and made my kids feel so welcome. Sam (the manager) deserves extra credit and praise (and possibly a pay rise!) for the way the place is run and seems to always be there to make sure operations are run as smoothly as they can be and you can tell he really cares to make sure the customer experience is as great as it possibly can be.

Been here a few times now and can highly recommend it. Very clean, the staff are friendly, and all the food we ordered was absolutely lovely. Nice place for a family get together. Well done to the chef, who is apparently called Peter, the food was spot on. 👌

Been several times, over the last couple of weeks, for Breakfast, lunch and evening meal. Never been disappointed withbthe food. Breakfast is a must great value and good quality.

Ordered the apple pie off the set evening menu and found mold on it. Waitress who was serving us seemed to have an attitude too and didn’t seem as welcoming to us than everyone else.

Had breakfast here two days in a row as part of the premier inn breakfast deal. Can’t fault it, lots of food, all fresh and tasty. Plenty to choose from and the staff were absolutely lovely. It was the perfect start to the day.

Food warm not hot as expected, understaffed for that time of day and no interaction with us the customer, It was supposed to be 33% of the food bill but if you had the set menu it did not apply it said it apparently in the small print ,take a pair of binoculars and you just might be able to see it .I will not be going back there ever again and I trust you the people to boycott it as well have a nice day

We arrived a little late but got checked in and seen to our table. Was a little concerned as it was quite busy buy my fears were unfounded. Drinks, starter and main food order taken a few minutes after we sat down. Found it funny that our orders were taken by pen & order pad and asked about it, this is perfectly normal and this avoided the worldwide software glitch a few days before which affected a lot of businesses. Drinks and food duly arrived, drinks cold & food hot! The big question. . . Would we go back? Simply yes.

Great food great service came in for a bit of grub and really enjoyed it. They have bt sports too which is a plus as can watch the football whilst eating my mean by the bar.

Visited last week with friends as a thank you for looking after our pet cat whilst we were on holiday. This is our "go to" place to for a good meal at lunchtime & early evening. The staff are always friendly & efficient. The menu offers plenty of choice & all the usual options. Plenty of parking at this time of the day. Can't speak for evenings, but would recommend at the times we regularly visit

Met here to have breakfast with friends whom had stayed the previous night at premier inn next door, only to be told rather abruptly there are no tables available and we would have to wait 1 hour! Our friends were seated as they had their table already booked! There were many unoccupied tables and when we questioned this was simply told they are all booked so we had no choice but to go else where leaving our friends to eat alone. Our friends who did book their table prior and was seated sadly informed us later that none of the tables were used after we left! We felt very unwelcome as soon as we entered and felt the assistant or manager wasn't even trying to accomodate us. Body language and tone says it all! We will not be returning here!

We never fail to be impressed by the experiences at Strawberry Field. All of the waiting staff and especially the Manager Tommy always show us utmost courtesy and respect, be it 2, 4 or up to 18 guests. The food is served quickly after drinks are served and is always hot and tasty. Our wishes in advance regarding seating are always catered for too. Cannot recommend too highly.

Great food, great service. Ate here whilst staying at the hotel, Tommy and Luke couldn’t have been more helpful or attentive. The food was good and I would come again.

It's a Beefeater chain pub and restaurant. The menu is primarily grills and chips. Salad sides are OK. The covered grilled chicken dish was bland for the cost of the dish, with just chips and coleslaw. The desert that two of our party had, apple pie and custard, was tiny and the custard lumpy and contaminated with something "brown". Either a sauce of some kind, or the dregs from the custard bowl. We suspected the latter. We did complain and new custard was brought out. But the contaminated custard had already been added to the dishes, which were not changed. There are better independent venues with similar prices and better food options.

Perfect for a post rehearsal pint but randomly closes early.

Excellent steaks, had a mix grill, served by a good bloke with cool hair, will defo be back when we are here again 10/10

Visited for my birthday with 8 family and friends. Out waitress Ellie was very attentive and the service was very good. We ordered 6 different meals between us and received them all at the same time. The food was very tasty and were all enjoyed.

Was lovely and quiet to have an afternoon lunch with my boyfriend, lovely service and was amazing food. I never tip and I tipped the waitress. It makes a nice change from Toby Carvery as we are always there. However, needs more items on the menu especially more pasta dishes. Spinach Alfado is my favourite 😋

Not overly busy, so ideal for a family reunion, but I have to say that my meal was less than exceptional, although my wife and daughter enjoyed theirs.

Milk was off twice for my tea so had to change to hot chocolate. Service behind bar was slow and not enough staff. Hard to pay as only one person taking payments for a party of us and people waited ages to be seen at bar while we were all paying . Needs more organisation and complete revamp as a very tired looking interior

Ordered steak, and it was tough and grizzly. Complained, and it was replaced with another just the same. They took it off the bill. I would rather they made sure the meat delivered was of good quality. It was not difficult just looking that the meat was poor quality.

Went here for my mum's birthday. We had a long table in a quiet area, allowing us to enjoy being together and catching up. The food and service were great.

Came in for a drink, welcomed by a lovely guy on the bar, beer was good and i didn't want alot to eat and was worried i had to take a seat on the main restaurant. This was not the case, had some very nice chicken fillets served by a lovely friendly waiter, who i think was the manager, these were hot and crispy. Football on telly and a nice atmosphere, will definitely visit again 😀

Food was awful. Fish and chips had been overcooked and peas reheated but still cold. Nachos had plastic cheese on top and no jalapeños just very dry salsa. Definitely will not be returning. Very disappointing

The food was so so good! between us all we pretty much ordered most the menu. From the starters to the perfectly cooked quality steaks and the tasty and generous portions of deserts, all were cooked and presented to a very high standard. Special thanks to Jacob ( chef ) the food you put out was awesome. Truly restaurant quality, far exceeds that of a “pub”

4 of us visited for Sunday lunch. Two had mixed grill which was OK until we tried to eat the steak..mine was well done but i couldnt eat it because of the gristle running through it. My friends was same although his had been medium cooked. My wife had the Sunday roast but there was only peas and spinach for veg option. No brocolli carrots cabbage etc. She was underwhelmed to put it mildly. Drinks prices was over the top. £14 . 20 for 2 glasses of wine £12 . 80 for 2 glasses of cider. I wont be going back.

We held a large Wake at Strawberry Fields last week. The venue was perfect with plenty of parking. We had a designated area with a buffet and coffee station. The food was excellent. Our family would like to thank all the staff for all their hard work. Special thanks must go to Vlad for his kindness and absolute professionalism in arranging every aspect of the day.

Stopped off for lunch en route to visit family after long run. Welcome was very good as was the service throughout! Natalie served us and was very pleasant and chatty. Food was very good.

I enjoyed the night food was ok but money was put into gaming machine, and it stopped playing. Broken. Then had to wait 4 weeks just to get the money back. Customer service ZERO.

Popped in for a quick bit of lunch before work and had lunch menu. Some good choices on the menu I went with the lunch steak came out quickly and cooked very well. Service was great. Not been in much recently but today reminded me that I like to come in frequently

Absolutely awful. Raw (cooked) tomatoes, off tasting black pudding and I think the bacon still had a pulse, no orange juice. When tge waitress asked if everything was OK, I said no, she just said, well I am a vegetarian 🙄. Second time of going, will not go back

I have worked many years in the food and restaurant industry, in fact I managed two Beefeater Restaurants back in the 90s. When we booked our rooms at the Premiere Inn and found there was a Beefeater right next door to the hotel I was more than pleased. Other members of my family were staying at the hotel. When we arrived we were told that we had to book a table through reception at the hotel. Which we did. Because there were a few of us we decided to booked in smaller groups of 2, 4, 6. I booked a table for myself, partner, my mother and Sister just after we arrived at the hotel, which was about 1600hrs. The booking at The Beefeater was made for 2045hrs. In fact when we all booked our tables, 5 tables in total, we were booked for around the same time. When we arrived at the restaurant we were greeted by an agitated young man who greeted us with “you have 15 minutes to order your meal. Kitchen is closing early.” This is a Friday night, but apparently this was Chef’s instructions. When does a Chef decide how the restaurant operates. We were quickly seated at our table, given the menu which the young man threw on the table. It was very rushed. He didn’t introduce the waiting staff, or take our drink order. He returned shortly after to take our order, we were rushed. My mother has dementia and was feeling really flustered. I had to remind the young man that we hadn’t ordered any drinks. The whole experience was unpleasant, rushed and very unprofessional. One of the female waiting on staff approached my partner and basically blamed my whole family for the rushed service, even when we booked smaller groups. “We didn’t expect a large group this evening.” Which we weren’t, they could have staggered the bookings. But Chef decided to close the kitchen early. It’s a Friday night, it’s supposed to be one of the busiest nights. Food was mediocre. Nothing like the standard and quality when I worked for Beefeaters. The rest of my family experienced similar service in their individual groups. The staff were unfriendly and were very young and clearly didn’t want to be there. There didn’t seem to be a competent adult in charge. I would have given this zero stars but there was an option. Beefeater has fallen to a very low standard. I’m surprised they are still operating.

Had a faultless meal at lunchtime today. We decided to order from the Daytime menu as is it such good value. Our waitress, Sara H provided 10/10 service 👍

It's good, but not great. The food is fine, but they don't have enough staff to provide great service. It is what it is and you get what you pay for.

All you can eat buffet breakfast..never gonna be a quiet affair when kids eat free!- Booking advised at weekends because of this..food plentiful (obviously) sausages were a little mushy but everything else really good, plenty of choice=cereal through to full English & even cakes. Price reasonable at a tenner too

FA cup game on tv, plenty of us wanting food well before the apparent 9pm kitchen close. Id like to point out the bar, management and waiting staff are brilliant. Sorry, but i think this is due to a chef being way about his station, calling the shots. Not his decision only time the kitchen is advertised to shut. person in charge of the kitchen really thinks about it. Its not all about you !!!

Buffet Breakfast for £9.99 - amazing! I had vegan bacon, vegan sausages, hashbrowns, beans, toast, fruit, cups of tea and juice. Upon arriving I was asked if we had any dietary requirements or allergies, I said yes, my son has cows milk allergy, so the staff member gave me a complete allergen list of all of the menu items and explained how to read it. They also got us soya milk to have on our table which was thoughtful. The staff gave my son a colouring sheet and a box of crayons, and every time they walked past our table, they were smiling at him and saying hi, which was really nice. He loved the attention. Plus I managed to have a lovely breakfast and had a quiet 3 year old for most of the meal too. The venue has a large disabled toilet with changing table but the changing table leans too far towards the floor - I let staff know it’s due maintenance. Can’t fault the food or service, I’ll definitely be coming back. Thank you.

Visited Sunday evening, I don't expect much from restaurant chains, but credit where its due,the mix grill was perfectly cooked,and the two waiters we had were professional and friendly, well done guys.

Just popped in for a coffee- perfect meeting up place for a catch-up with a friend.

We visit here alot & are on very friendly terms with most of the wonderful staff. Foods good, always hot & plenty to choose from, kitchen staff are always refilling trays. Only real bugbear is the toasters - which take AGES.!!!!

Food was ok, had to ask for some well cooked bacon as the items in the buffet were not cooked enough, toaster were rubbish took 5 goes in the toaster to get some colour on the bread

Food was adequate. Was charged £6.99 for the third course of a three course meal deal instead of £3.00. This is probably not unusual as the pudding was ordered after the main and starter. The staff incorrectly took off £3.00 from the bill. They did NOT understand that I had been overcharged by £3.99 not £3.00!

Service was good, staff were very helpful and friendly. Food quality/quantity was poor and wildly overpriced for what I got. Better meals had at my local pub. Won't be back..avoid

Was served by two friendly gentlemen, only got the name of one, Caleb , a name I've not come across b4 . Such a pleasant gentleman especially with my circumstances has I'm the road a lot traveling around the country with work. Made me feel very welcome.

It was ok. Very, quite not many people in the restaurant. The menu was disappointing. We were in for lunch but there wasn't a good variety of dishes. I find steak and ribs are an evening meal. Desserts are my favourite, but there were too many ice cream dishes, and with it being cold, we wanted something warm with custard. I did have the cheese cake, and it was scrummy. I think . more people in a lunchtime menu would help. I know they do it in the week, but may bring in more people. A couple came in and looked at the menu first and left, and I wish now me and my daughter had done the same. I would be £50 richer.

Family meal 2 adults 1 child 50% off if I didn't have it off I would not be happy small portions and the kids meal was tiny. I wouldn't go back without money off . it probably wasn't even worth what we paid .

Nice cosy , good value , well worth a visit

We dined at strawberry fields last night and we were all very impressed with the staff and quality of our food. I had never dined here before and really enjoyed the atmosphere and most certainly will be returning well done to all involved.

Had their double stack burger. Burger was nice however a little pink in the middle and the coleslaw was off. I did report this and an apology was given, I was offered a replacement but didn't want another portion of 'off' coleslaw 🤷‍♀️ staff were friendly once they'd started to serve us. Kinda ignored us when we walked in even though we'd book. Meal was £16.49 for the burger, bit overpriced!

Ordered 2 burger meals one with froes and one with chunky chips. The chunky chips were very aneamic but tasted ok. The burgers were very pink inside and the coleslaw tasted off. We mentioned this to the waitress who apologised and offered to get some more. We declined this.

Buffet breakfast... Food was all ok, if a little slow with the topping up the juices and the milk for the coffee machine etc. It seemed like one member of staff was trying to run around and sort everything out and was getting quite stressed out bless her whilst no one else was visually making any effort. She was working hard to sort things out but sometimes a few people took her as rude.

Don't bother using this pub as they don't honour table booking Total waste of time this place is and don't even get a appogly from bar staff as they were rude about the situation

We eat here often, and were with friends this time. I signed up for email offers and used one on this occasion. Food was excellent and plenty, though my coleslaw was missing and the rocket they served up was wilted with age and inedible.

Ordered bottomless drinks.was sitting dry for 10 mins as the waiter/waitress just looked and walked on by.whilst 4 of them were having a chat at the bar So had to go up to the bar to get more drinks. Might be an idea if the staff can't be bothered to serve the bottomless drinks to have a dispenser where customers can refill. Bear in mind the place was dead

Went for my birthday. Service very slow...lack of staff, not waitresses fault. Items ordered not received, my fish was over cooked! Had lunch menu but was over charged for desserts. Poor...
