So I was in Southend to watch my Beloved Oldham Athletic Vs Southend at Roots hall, fan bar at the stadium and the blue boar 🐗 are for home fans only so ended up at the Railway pub which had a mixture of Oldham and Southend fans. Boozer was absolutely hammered and a fantastic atmosphere with football ⚽️ on the tvs throughout the pub, Polite and friendly staff, To drink my first pint was a pint of Doom bar which wasn't the best and then I opted for a pint of Moretti. You can pay cash or card, Extremely busy on match day which is to be expected meaning a short wait to get served but definitely recommend The Railway Tavern 🍺. 5☆ 5☆ 5☆ 5☆ 5☆

Ordered a couple of side dishes to go with meal I cooked, always use Winns.Very disappointed this time, the pancake rolls with meat had no meat, lots of cabbage and large sticks of carrot,@ £3.20, i had 4,also had prawn toasts what a mess they were 1" thick pieces cut from a baguette, hardly and prawns but loads of sesame seeds there were 6 peices in the bag and cost me over £6. Total was £20.50, I think after 10 years of using Winns I'm going to find a new take away, very disappointed.

Was going to give 5 stars for the food and reasonable price but the waitresses' service and attitude were appaling. They came to place the bill on our table and went away. That is fine as it might be to give customers some time to sort out the bill etc. after waiting 20 mins, the waitresses refuse to collect our payment and only attend to other customers. Once I had the chance to signal to one of them, she gave me an extremely judgmental look and came over without speaking a word. When asked if we could split the bill, she said of course, just wait for her colleague. Waited for anothed 15 mins before said colleague "notices" us and when I asked if we could split the bill, she said "yes.. yess!" In an extremely impatient and demeaning way. Feels like a little racial discrimination here possibly thinking we are stingy customers to have to want split the bill with our peers.
