The best restaurants in Thorpe Hamlet Norwich East of England

Had a lovely breakfast here with friends when visiting Norwich. Food was of good quality and well presented. Lots of toast and the coffee was good too.

Great food. Great value. Lovely hospitality. A charming canapé at the start and free sweet treats at the end. The lunchtime menu was SUCH good value!

We were visiting as a special treat for our sons birthday. The service from the waiting staff was very good and the food came out nice and quick. This is an expensive restaurant, expect to pay around £50 a head just for the main meal so I was expecting good quality food. However, I was very disappointed with the quality of my piece of steak. I always order rib eye and I fully understand this is a fattier cut of meat compared to say sirloin or fillet but the majority of the meat was inedible due to sinue and thick, white fat, the type that is never going to melt when cooked resulting in chewy inedible meat. I did bring this to the attention of the waitress who then asked the manager to come over. She did apologise but then went on to say that it was just my ‘bad luck’ due to the cow! She went on to explain that all cows have different levels of fat and I had just been unlucky! This is no way to talk to a paying customer and more so, insult my intelligence! I am shocked to have experienced such bad customer service from a very respectable restaurant. On their website it says their philosophy is, I quote : “Prime is built upon our passion for delivering both an excellent service and the highest quality of food.” On this occasion, the service and quality of food did not meet their so called standards and I have been left feeling very let down and angry. When I received the bill, I had still been charged full price for my steak which I was surprised to see as I hadn’t been able to eat it. I paid the bill including the steak because it was a family meal which didn’t want to spoil it and thought I would express my disappointment formerly. I did email them but they never even had the decency to acknowledge my email hence why I am writing this review.

My husband and I called here for a drink Saturday evening on the way to eat out somewhere nearby, with another couple. The football crowd had left, pleasant surroundings with just the right amount of people to make a good atmosphere. What was bizarre was that the staff insisted on serving our drinks in plastic glasses. We questioned this, and said that all other tables we could see had proper glasses, but were told they’d booked tables to eat and were allowed proper glasses. Crazy, as we sat on a table in the middle of other tables, all with proper glasses!

Buena selección de comida en oferta, buena variedad de café y té, incluido descafeinado. También hacen chocolate caliente y bebidas frías. Bonito plan de asientos con muchos asientos y mesas por dentro y por fuera. Tiende a estar un poco ocupado entre 8. 15 am - 8. 45 am de lunes a viernes con personas recogiendo bebidas en el camino al trabajo, lo que demuestra que es un lugar popular.

We called into this small café for a light breakfast. We were surprised to find they sold pastel de nata ( Portuguese custard tarts). We enjoyed two of these with flat white coffee, sat in a small space in the window.

Visited for drinks whilst walking around Norwich. The drinks were good my husband had a delicious looking brownie which he said was excellant. The extensive menu of sandwiches looked very interesting. We will most definently return to try some.

Great chip shop amazing battered sausages, chip cut size a little small for my liking, but best tasting around the area

Absolutely amazing quality as always. The food always arrives hot and tastes incredible. Such good value for money and the staff are always amazing and they listen too so the order is never wrong. Thank you.

Me sorprendió mucho descubrir que esto era tan encantador que, por alguna razón, a lo largo de los años pensé que era una especie de buceo. El restaurante estaba muy limpio, bien ventilado y luminoso y el personal encantador. Buena comida también.

A friend and I went to the pavilion for a sausage roll and cup of tea after a walk in the park and we were appalled by the service and cleanliness at the cafe… I ordered the teas and sausage roll and was told the teas would be brought to our table… 15 minutes later we still hadn’t had our teas brought to us yet people who came in after us were all getting their orders…I went to ask how long it would be and was told rather abruptly by a member of staff that “ we are not just standing around we are really busy”… I said ok and went and sat back down … after a while a member of staff came and cleared out table so I asked her how much longer it would be and she went straight away and got our teas …. I am absolutely disgusted with the service … how long does it take to put a tea bag and hot water in a cup?… the cafe was also very grubby.. there was food all over the floor, used napkins and even a used wipe of some kind … deffinately won’t be going back again and deffinately will not be recommending .

This place was a last min decision, and it proved to be a good one! i went with a female friend so the atmosphere was just right for the company! x

I never normally write reviews but the Seoul burger with loaded fries is banging!! 2nd time ordering now, it's now one of my favourite places to eat
