Decent pub. Need to play some Irish music really.

Today we went to pogue mahone in Norwich for the bottomess brunch, staff were very friendly and chatty, the food was amazing and the cocktails were great! A very enjoyable day and we will be back.

Had a lovely date night at Pogue Mahon's on Sunday 6th April. Fab Irish pub feels like being welcomed into a family home, super welcoming and generous landlord and friendly, helpful and entertaining bar team. Happy fun atmosphere. Chose it because we're avid fans of the foreign locals, who were as awesome and entertaining as always. These two can make a hell of a big sound and always get us up and dancing reliving our youth. Joe is just hilarious. The food... exceptional, enormous portions, roast is generous, super tasty, comes with all the trimmings you could ever dream of, all cooked to absolute perfection. Sticky toffee pudding to die for. Good value. Will be back to try another night.

Absolutely fantastic bottomless brunch at Pogue Mahon’s on Saturday! Brilliant atmosphere; the staff couldn’t do any more for us! We were well looked after - there was a fantastic choice of drinks available on the bottomless menu and the food was delicious too! Would highly recommend!! ☘️

Pogue Mahone’s in Norwich is a fantastic Irish pub that offers an exceptional experience. Aidan and his team provide outstanding service, making every visit memorable. The chef’s roast was absolutely amazing—we had the All Meats option, and it was sensational! Hands down the best Guinness in Norwich too. Highly recommended!

Can highly recommend Pogue Mahons for bottomless brunch! Have been a few times now, and the range of drinks and food included is great. Staff are friendly and very attentive. Great atmosphere also.

We had an absolutely amazing Sunday roast at Pogue Mahon’s! The food was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful meats, perfectly crispy roast potatoes, and delicious homemade Yorkshire puddings. The portions were generous, and every bite was packed with comforting, rich flavors. The atmosphere was fantastic, with a warm and welcoming pub feel that made for a perfect Sunday afternoon. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Adding to the experience, The Rugby was playing in the background, creating a brilliant atmosphere that made the meal even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a top-notch Sunday roast in a great setting, I highly recommend Pogue Mahon’s. And the Baby Guinness We’ll definitely be back!

Great traditional Irish pub in the heart of Norwich! Good Irish songs and jigs in the background and every night there is something different for music or entertainment! I don’t drink Guinness but iv noticed the attention to detail when it has been served not to mention the Excellent Sunday roast and can tell this pub uses fresh quality local ingredients. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable would 100% recommend ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️

Lovely venue and decor and great irish music playing, However I expect an irish pub to know how to pour a Guinness especially when it's £6.80!! Worst poured Guinness I've had in a long while from disinterested staff which is definitely not the traditional irish pub experience !!! Then to top it off apon leaving I take my glass back to the bar and say thanks and barmaid looks blankly at me with not so much as a thank you back!! Terrible hospitality 😪 Please sort out your staff as they are letting the pub down!!

After reading the favourable reviews of this bar , I thought I would be able to enjoy a couple of pints after a long journey from glasgow before my business meeting the next day . Unfortunately after being served and beginning to relax with a pint . I was asked to leave as there was a private function which I was not made aware of when entering or ordering ....... Bad craic 😒

Having been here last year we returned Friday and Saturday night hoping for more of the same. Very crowded but a great atmosphere. If you want to sit down and have a break, there is the Drunken Pit downstairs with a bar , which many do not seem to know about .... but the secret's out. The singer Saturday night was superb and really got the bar singing and dancing. Pogue's Black is a really nice porter and the Guiness is top quality

A new, decent Irish bar where a kebab/Chinese food shop used to be. Happy to see development move this way on Prince of Wales, instead of the opposite. Pub is excellent and often has a man with a guitar on Friday nights. Drinks aren't a ripoff and toilets aren't disgusting either! Well worth a visit

The speak easy style basement made for an ideal setting for our private party. Friendly bar staff, plenty of room for a DJ, followed by a band and lots of dancing. Great place.

I went to a private party last weekend in the basement space, ‘drunk tank’. The staff couldn’t be more welcoming. It had great range of drinks including cocktails.. 😋 The space was perfect for a private party, with bar, space to dance, clean toilet and outside area to cool down / for smokers. Great, great night and would highly recommend to friends! 🌟

Had an absolutely amazing time here on 5th October, great food, great service and the basement room was fantastic. Thank you Aiden and all the Pogue Mahon staff for making the day such a special one.

Spent the whole day here Saturday, then moved to the drink tank downstairs for the evening shindig. Great food, great staff, great atmosphere. Incredible venue. 5 stars and then some!

The basement is a great place to have a party! We had a great time and were really well looked after. The main bar and food was great too, and the staff were really accommodating. Good espresso martinis too!

We had a private party this weekend in Pogue Mahon’s ‘Drunk Tank’ and it was perfect! A fantastic, newly decorated basement venue that was exclusive to us and had a PA system (we bought musicians and a DJ) its own bar, toilets, a little outside area (for the smokers) and even a separate door. The service was great and Aidan who runs the place stopped at nothing to ensure we all had the best night. I cannot rate this place highly enough for any occasion.

Great beer and friendly bar staff. Food took a very long time to come around 50 minutes. Barman was very apologetic and gave me a free beer.

Great pub, great décor! Just a shame the bar has a strong smell of bleach which ruined my experience. I have server asthma and had to leave cutting my stay short unfortunately. Maybe use a less aggressive floor cleaner going forward

Tried to enter, on a Sunday afternoon at 3.30pm after one of the biggest Norwich City games of the season’s at the age of 62, to be turned away, spent a lot of money in this pub as a neighbour local business. Just want to say , Norwich City encouraging people to wear yellow, so we had football shirts on, then to get turned away, never been turned away from a pub in my life, but l guess always a first time for everything, won’t never get a penny from us again. Like to just remind the the pub, a bad word travels faster than a good word, but oddly they are showing football and advertising the pub as a sports bar . 🤷🏻‍♀️ would welcome some feedback from management as to rationale behind the decision or was it just discrimination.

I have booked 3 parties at Pogue’s over the last few months. 2 retirement do’s and my Sister-in-Law’s 40th birthday last night. Absolutely fantastic room to hold a party (Magoo’s). We had Phatt Music play for us. Bar staff were spot on as usual. They all go out of their way to help. They have even helped me set up with decorations etc. And the buffets that have been served were superb. Great value for money. The sliders were a big hit! Aidan’s communication is speedy and he is so friendly! He has always advised on how to make a party go off with a bang with regards to food/table/room set up/music etc. Has to be the best landlord in Norwich? Never had a bad night at Pogue’s. Just gets better.

Looked like a great place, we called in for a drink on our way to the train station, waited in bar for 10 - 15 minutes, no staff to serve us so unfortunately we left. Maybe staff were all busy in the restaurant? EDIT after speaking to my husband later he said "don't exaggerate! We only waited a couple of minutes" so, I must apologise

I was at st. Patrick's Day there. Great atmosphere . Live band played. Very cool.

Food menu looked great although I didn't try it, All staff were super friendly and professional. Would recommend 100%. Big shout out to curly who must of passed me a 1000 times trying to get in and out of the bar and the doorman for being professional and sturdy but in a welcoming way.

Popped in to watch 6 Nations Rugby, gotta say, Great Pub, Great Guinness, Great Atmosphere, not sure if table service is a given in this establishment however we recieved Great service from Daniel... Spot On....!!!

I love this pub. The atmosphere is always great fun. The roast dinner is fab and the chicken strips are a favourite. The staff are the best craic. Go for the food amd stay for the music.

Went here with my husband and a friend as it was close to our hotel. Bouncers told my husband he would have to keep his top covered as they were a neutral pub. It was only a polo top but we had no problem with that. We got our drinks and as we walked upstairs my husband commented to me if it was a neutral pub how come there were people in there with England rugby shirts on. With that the owner shot out and snarled at us that it was allowed because it was a rugby top and it was his pub and he made the rules and it was only a neutral pub for football because football fans didn't know how to behave! So we are hooligans because of a logo on a polo top?! It was his tone which annoyed us as much as anything, and my husband was speaking to me not anyone else. About 20 minutes later as we were quietly enjoying our drinks Ireland scored and the table behind us in their celebrations knocked their drinks over and smashed glass everywhere. They obviously didn't get the memo on how they were supposed to behave. Two stars for the nice pint and great music but the owner's rudeness towards us was totally uncalled for and made us feel most unwelcome.

We arrived for bottomless brunch. we was the only table and had our own server and bar felt like V.I.Ps! A bit disapointed that due to their new menu our bottomless “brunch” was actually a choice between two burgers… a beef one or chicken one… only option for food we had and wasn’t told this when booking. But nevermind we obviously ordered the burgers which was very greasy… but the chips were lovely! Bottomless cocktails - we had a Lovely server who really did try but each cocktail took time to make which meant the 2 hour unlimited cocktails we didn’t get our first one for 15 minutes .. we kept our order the same to make things easier and we did manage to have 7 cocktails in the 2 hours so it was worth the money for the drink part, they tasted lovely! And again our server was so sweet. Overall would recommend for drinks. Not food as poor choice and what was the food wasn’t amazing. But the drinks tasted yummy but maybe book when it’s very quite as could imagine long waiting time for drinks if busy.

Great atmosphere with a live singer

I booked a works Christmas party in there private room downstairs. Such a great night the atmosphere was amazing with also very polite service. If you are looking for a quick drink or event with live music this is definitely the place to go. Thank you all for such a great night always. Pure gold team

Nice enough gaff but I've never been served by someone who was more interested in texting than engaging with customers and pouring a pint. The guy seemed nice enough but you just don't do that. World's gone mad.

We had our Christmas party at Pogues and we could not have chosen a better venue! From the very first contact all my queries were answered and accommodated, all staff were attentive on the night helping us set up. We did not need to queue for hours to get served through out the night. The food we had was also perfect, there is not one fault i can find with our evening! Would certainly return here for future bookings and will just to stop by for a drink as the atmosphere in this venue is great over all!!

Had a Sunday roast and the food was amazing! The gravy was out of this world and the beef was cooked perfectly. The waitress was very friendly and the pub has a great atmosphere with live music on most nights. Will definitely visit again and look forward to enjoying another roast there soon

GENUINE Irish pub run by an Irishman Good food ,beer and craic

Cancelled our table for 10 and didn’t even have the courtesy to call. Very poor customer service.

A group of 10+ friends booked a table in October for a Christmas meal and get together at the end of November. Only for the duty manager to cancel the booking with less than a weeks notice because they now have taken a more profitable booking. Awful customer service and we are left this close struggling to find an alternative to take a group as large as ours. If this is how you treat customers I will not be visiting in the future.

I'm yet to eat here but love this little gem. Very small place but could do with couple more small tables. Live entertainment and great atmosphere.

The owner/manager, Aiden, has got this spot on. A very lively ground floor with live music and usually a very lively crowd all joining in. If you want to ease off, ease upstairs where a quieter bar is available, or head through the 'bookcase' to visit the secret bar downstairs (when not hired out). Grab a baby Guinness shot, let your hair down and join in. Wonderful 👍
