The best restaurants in Chesfield North Hertfordshire East of England

Stayed there for one night. The service, room, food, and the place overall were astonishing—far beyond our expectations. Prices are fair and reasonable. I only hope that, in the future, well-behaved and friendly dog(s) will be allowed in the main restaurant. They are part of the family, after all.

New menu, new staff, absolutely delicious. While waiting for food to arrive were given mini canapes, very nice. Waiter Daniel extremely pleasant and very good at his job.

The location and grounds are lovely. We have been here on special occasions. The food is great but a little pricey when they add the service charge on your bill without your knowledge. So be aware. If you want to tip your waiter, then this should be a choice and not an amount that’s set by the restaurant on your bill. Our waitress was lovely until the end when she went missing so we were waiting for ages to pay our bill. A waiter assisted us at the end. To only be told that it’s now apparently cashless!! He had to seek the managers approval! The menu, we felt needed more choice on desserts. Portion sizes of desserts could be more plentiful for the price. But overall,the food was lovely.

I don't have too many issues with the food served here, but the value for money seemed amiss compared to the quality. If you're staying at the hotel this isn't a bad place for dinnder.

The pub is in a great situation. Easy to reach. Good parking. The pub itself is lovely. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is always great

Fab lunch. There was an amazing deal for just over£11 we had a cheese and coleslaw baguette, chips and salad and blackberry and apple crumble with custard. It was delicious. Will definitely be visiting again.

Went here for lunch recently with a couple of friends and was pleasantly surprised, food was really tasty and reasonably priced. The music wasn't too loud so we could sit there and have a good catch up each other. Would definitely go there again and would definitely recommend.

Haven't been here for a few years but so glad we had lunch here today. The new owners seem to have restored this lovely pub to it's original standards. The food was delicious and the presentation was the best I've seen for a long while. We even managed dessert which is very rare. Well done guys, keep up the good work

Although I live in Milton Keynes, I have visited this pub on several occasions and never disappointed. The food is outstanding, homemade, always piping hot and huge portions. Also very reasonable pricing. The staff are an absolute pleasure and could not do more for you. I would highly recommend and if you haven’t visited already then you must! Looking forward to my next visit.

Great service, friendly staff. The burger wasn't avaliable on the children's menu, which my son was disappointed about. The carvery was very good. Turkey was very moist and lots of choices of veg. Yorkshire puddings are gigantic!

I think they sold off their business as there are Indians working now something you never saw before only ever had Chinese working in the shop in there but for a long time now their prices have been rising way too much and the quality has dropped seriously low this is the last time I use this place the food was horrendous the spare ribs were so spare I was amazed to find bone let alone meat. to say this was seriously disappointing is a understatement.

The carvery was great, that's it.

Amazing service by Erin and lek ! Nothing was to much trouble !!! They made our visit worth while! Food was amazing !
