The best restaurants serving British food in Chesfield North Hertfordshire East of England

I don't have too many issues with the food served here, but the value for money seemed amiss compared to the quality. If you're staying at the hotel this isn't a bad place for dinnder.

The women in my family and I booked a table at this pub/restaurant for a meal as part of my daughter's hen weekend. When we arrived we were told were our table was and having sat down waited for quite a while for someone to take our drinks order. Three of our party are disabled and when my daughter went to go to the toilet she found there were not any disabled facilities. We double checked this was the case and it was suggested that we use the toilets in the pub next door. As we all have difficulty walking this was not a helpful suggestion. We were not warned of the lack of disabled facilities and as those of us who are disabled were unable to use the toilets there we had no choice other than to leave.

The location and grounds are lovely. We have been here on special occasions. The food is great but a little pricey when they add the service charge on your bill without your knowledge. So be aware. If you want to tip your waiter, then this should be a choice and not an amount that’s set by the restaurant on your bill. Our waitress was lovely until the end when she went missing so we were waiting for ages to pay our bill. A waiter assisted us at the end. To only be told that it’s now apparently cashless!! He had to seek the managers approval! The menu, we felt needed more choice on desserts. Portion sizes of desserts could be more plentiful for the price. But overall,the food was lovely.

The food was amazing and so were the staff.👌 Best place we have eaten this year so far and will be back very soon. Used the app and that was spot on and easy to use to order

Cosy pub, staff are very rude and unfriendly. Food is average ‘pub grub’ but overpriced. Drinks are expensive. I have been going there for years which was always very good and value for money but it was taken over by new management a couple of years ago and gas certainly gone downhill. I would not recommend any more and will definitely not be going back. Shame!
