The best restaurants in Maldon East of England

We had the most wonderful afternoon tea, and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, the service was nothing short of fantastic. The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and genuinely went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience. The cake selection was exquisite, with a variety of flavours to suit every preference. The tiered stand of treats including sandwiches was a feast for the eyes and the palate — delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam, and an array of beautifully crafted homemade cakes. Every bite was a delight! The elegant ambiance and calming atmosphere made it the perfect setting for a leisurely afternoon for Mothers Day. Lovely food I know the owners for ages they are all friendly and so are the waiters

Sadly disappointed. Wanted a couple of pots of whelks but advised we’re still frozen. As were the prawns & cockles. It was 1pm.Chise to have a bag to go. While waiting asked for 2 oysters to enjoy at the small stand up table. Oysters were opened and prepared and offered to me on nothing. I asked if there was a plate and after waiting the oysters were again offered this time on top of a square metal pot of ice. They were delicious. I also noticed how other customers had the same frozen issues with one electing to have crab/fish sticks. The sticks were picked up by hand and bagged as the gent serving did not seem to know another way.

Just had wonderful cappuccino and amazing coffee and walnut cake , this place is so so much better than anywhere else locally , a good selection of food and a friendly atmosphere . Highly recommended , pay them a visit and have cake

great food and lovely friendly staff, sorry to be disappointed with no seating . I think the website should stress that you need to book I shall not be caught again but midweek there was only a few people in the pub so thought it would be OK as only a few eating. We have been several times before and shall be returning but make sure we book !

On this occasion when I visited kitchen cafe I had cheese & bacon omelette with chips and salad with cup of coffee. I just fancied something different to the usual, a very good choice it was too. Fantastic cafe I would say the best in town and a great family run establishment.

A good 'old fashioned' cafe. No nonsense food, delicious and just what you need after a long walk along the coastal path - or work in the nearby units or just want an ice cream. I say old fashioned, but you can still get a decaf latte with oat milk!

Really nice typical country pub, good food and warm fire!

Excellent beers, perfectly kept. Good selection of wine and cider as well. Lovely cosy environment. We will be back very soon.

We wanted a sarnie and a cuppa on our way to visit St Peters on the Wall and chose this place as it was on the route…..more or less. We were so glad we did as we enjoyed generously filled sandwiches with full salad ( not just a few leaves) coleslaw and crisps and good coffee all at a very reasonable price and service with a smile. The cakes looked really good too.

Excellent atmosphere. Lovely food (especially for my wife who is gluten and lactose free). They went out of their way to accommodate her. Great staff. Will go again.

Great place with beautiful gardens and relaxed atmosphere . we attended a wedding and may see this as a future venue for an up comming gathering ourselves

We had a lovely roast dinner which included homemade yorkshire puddings, loads of different vegetables and lovely gravy.

Needed to kill some time waiting for my car while being MOT’d 👍. Food was very tasty and coffee more than satisfactory. Would happily recommend 👌🏼
