great food and lovely friendly staff, sorry to be disappointed with no seating . I think the website should stress that you need to book I shall not be caught again but midweek there was only a few people in the pub so thought it would be OK as only a few eating. We have been several times before and shall be returning but make sure we book !

Great lunch today with husband and a friend. We all had the sea bass with roasted vegetables and sweet potato fries. We all agreed the that the food was perfectly cooked, extremely tasty and beautifully presented. To finish off we chose the cherry and almond Bakewell tart which had a really soft sponge base and good pastry. Our friend had the strawberry pavlova roulade, which did look great and she confirmed it was lovely. The staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome which is a big plus. It adds to the good overall experience. There is outside seating also should you prefer that.

We have been here many times and the food is always excellent. Recent meals eaten in the evening have been steak and merlot pie, fish & chips, steak & chips, risotto and lamb. The menu changes monthly so these may not always be available if you visit. Puds are home made (last night we had cheesecake and chocolate brownie with ice cream). Husband loves his Timothy Taylor's pint too.

The food is very good here. Always fresh and tasty. The deserts are my favourite here. All home made. Have to book in advance as it is very busy. Very old pub with it's own parking for about 10 vehicles in a country setting.

Sunday lunch with friends. Nice small room, beams, cosy. Waiter excellent, helpful, polite, efficient. Usual Sunday roasts on the menu and other interesting choices. Food was excellent, well cooked and tasty. Delicious desserts. We all had something different to as on the menu but we were told it was no trouble. Only downside was that There was a large party also in the room and as the drinks flowed the celebrators got louder and louder. All in all very pleased, good prices too. Will definitely go again.

My wife and I have just re-visited The Bell for dinner. A lovely, very old classic English country pub which continues to serve very pleasant food at reasonable prices. They have an extensive menu and a fine selection of wines to choose from. The service is pleasant, efficient and very friendly, we will return for sure!

Just back from an excellent lunch after a lovely 6 mile walk starting and ending at The Queen Vic. Wonderful hospitality and the food was really good - very generous portions too.
