Just back from an excellent lunch after a lovely 6 mile walk starting and ending at The Queen Vic. Wonderful hospitality and the food was really good - very generous portions too.

Lunch with a group of mates who have been getting together every Thursday for about 15 years. Used to go there several years back, but had a bad experience a few years back after it had changed hands. Decided to give it another try. Glad to say it was excellent. Back on the list. Good grub at a good price and a friendly welcome. We will be going back soon.

I haven't visited this pub for a while but it's now under new management for the last 3 weeks! Very friendly and experienced in the trade so I can't provide an accurate rating as I haven't experienced the food fayre. 3 real ale pumps with 2 local brewery beers on tap during my visit.

This pub is under new management, the new landlords are both welcoming and polite and i cannot wait to see the what they are going to make of the pub. In my experience with these two at the helm they will achieve great things in the future. The Ales are well kept and taste great, Guinness like velvet and the food well cooked with deserving portions, just what you need when watching the rugby. Good luck to you both

We were 3 ladies in a short break with our children. We were looking to find some where to eat on a Saturday night which didn't mind 3 lively 9yr olds. We came across The Queen Victoria. Upon entering we received a friendly welcome from the regulars. The food was lovely & the staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely visit again if we were in the area.

They cannot be bothered, if you are not one of the "in crowd" you take a back seat. Having been once, we wouldn't recomend it.

We nipped in yesterday but even though they were just about to close (it was 4pm and we hadn't realised) they still took our order and served us. We had three lovely waffles. Really welcoming service and so grateful that they stayed open for us as the kids really enjoyed it. Lovely little place as well.

My mums favourite place to visit. She 98 and wont go anywhere else in maldon for lunch. She particular likes the toasted sandwiches served with a salad garnish and coleslaw we add the delicious sweet potato fries. Staff are friendly very accommodating as she is in a wheelchair Service is always with a smile great atmosphere highly recommended

Discovered this pub by chance a week ago when walking a local circular hike in the area. We called to see if they had a table and unfortunately they were fully booked. At the end of the hike we popped in for a drink. The pub is geared up for food mostly on Sundays, but the team were so accommodating and welcomed us to sit at the bar. The atmosphere was lovely - very traditional country pub vibes - with the staff knowing most customers by name. The team were so kind and accomodating, they even managed to squeeze us in for a Sunday Roast which we were so grateful for after our hike. Food was delicious, service was great and everyone was so friendly! We will be back!

Looked inviting from the outside so decided to give this establishment a try. Spotless interior , big menu with many tempting options. Our coffee was spot on , just how we like it "proper coffee." Wifey had bacon, brie and cranberry panini which she said was delicious. Myself chicken , bacon and pesto sandwich with granary bread. Thick slices of gorgeous bread with a well packed filling , it was very satisfying. Very good service and highly recommend.

Visited The Queens Head last night with my fiancée to try their new carvery all you can eat roast dinner. The food was outstanding, when they say all you can eat they really mean it, and it includes meat unlike any other I’ve been too. The meat was cooked to perfection, the gammon was the best I’ve had and there was 4 meats to choose from. The chef was previously a butcher and knows how to cook and carve, it was so yummy. There was a good selection of potato’s, yorkies and veg, also all really yummy. The potatoes were crispy outside and fluffy inside and the gravy was a good thickness and also very tasty as it’s made from the meat juices. I was hesitant trying an all you can eat carvery, however this blew other roasts I have tried in Essex out the water. It was as good as an expensive roast that you would find in a bistro pub. My fiancée and I are making our way round local pubs trying their roast dinners and this flew straight to the top of our list! Also - the homemade icecream is outstanding and i’d urge that people try it. It’s really creamy and they have lots of options. Thank you for a lovely dinner!
