The Victoria Inn in Maldon

Limited menu, service was brilliant as was my nachos, but the salsa and guacamole were poor. The burgers were not the best but The chips were good.

A no frills type of pub but just had to post to say how pleasant the staff were and that the Sunday roast we had yesterday was superb. I reckon the roasties were some of the best I'd ever had.

Best lunch deal found on High Street, Burnham ... err, very best lunch deal, upon second thoughts. Attentive Staff, serving customers in an open and airy roominess at a comfortable lounge, not just the ordinary eating house either - to get there you pass the rest to visit the best in town! Fantastic place to be, new to burnham looking for a place to drink and socialise this is it, the staff are fantastic and tend to customer needs for example charging your phone and serving you great food and drinks , come on down no pubs can compare to the Victoria inn

Nice old fashioned pub. Went for the Sunday roast after seeing pics on FB! While the vegetables were amazing and the roast potatoes and yorkshires were the best I’ve had, the meat was a real disappointment. Both the lamb and the beef were definitely out of a packet which came as a big surprise and disappointment.

Well established family pub in Burnham on Crouch. Good range of drinks but quite a dark interior. Only called in for drinks.

Result, this pub can serve a decent pint of Ghost ship :)

The best pub in burnham, have lived here for over 3 years, tried all the local pubs and this is by far the best. Great atmosphere, owners are brilliant and great local crowd

We enjoyed the best Sunday Roast here, rivalled only by own (but better as there’s no washing up) Both our chicken and beef was delicious with perfect veg and cauliflower cheese on the side - we can’t wait to return :) Such good value too x

We came in slightly late for a roast on the 5/11 but the staff were happy to serve us, the three of us all ordered a different roast which came out within 10 minutes and was cooked to perfection. This pub is a credit to Burnham and the staff set an example of how pubs should be. Amazing service!!

Amazing service! Walked in got a seat and served a fabulous roast within 20mins, with real homemade Yorkshires, great winter vegetables and luxurious gravy!

The Queen Vic is a Burnham institution with a good selection of beers, pleasant atmosphere and an ample beer garden.

Rum and reggae was the offering and what a blast it was. 2 DJ’s and 2 live acts with a Caribbean food offering to compliment the music. Top quality night out and Ray and Lorna put on a wonderful evening.

Came here on a Friday night for dinner and drinks, the cod and chips was one of the best I’ve had! Prices of food are great and affordable and for what you get we was very impressed! The atmosphere in this pub is what we really like, definitely our favourite pub in Burnham!

Today I had the most lovely cod and chips ever and I can't wait to come back, thankyou.

Disappointed if I'm honest. Ghost Ship beer was served up cloudy even after the barman pumped a couple of pints through. Second attempt he said he would change barrels. Punts came up worse...😔 We would have eaten there but they missed a trick. We drank up and left to eat elsewhere...

Wonderful place for a cosy drink, a livelier drink, Sunday roast in front of the fire, wonderful singers at night. There truly is something for everyone and the landlady and landlord well they just go above and beyond to ensure you have a great experience

Fantastic meal at the inaugural Steak Night. The Tartare was on point and the Rib Eye superb. Got the recepie for Rays Key Lime pie to yake home as well. Congratulations and definitely coming to the Persian night

We Went today for lunch ,food was great the ploughman's lunch was exceptional value for money ,also it was great to see that we could get a gluten free pie as well .Staff member was very pleasant and helpful .would recommend .

Went here for a Sunday roast whilst on holiday at a local CL site. We were advised to arrive at noon as you are not allowed to book and we were a party of 9. There was a choice of 3 real ales and a good selection of draught lagers and ciders. The pub was very clean, with each table having a hand sanitiser. We were given a warm welcome on arrival. The roasts available were chicken, beef and lamb. The portions were a good size and was cooked very nicely. We really enjoyed our meals. Afterwards we stayed for sometime and played pool. The locals were watching the football and we had a thoroughly good time. Many thanks to all at The Victoria Inn!

The new publicans Ray and Lorna have really injected a new lease of life into this pub. They organise a lot of special events and have brought in a number of new beers and lagers and other specialty drinks. The food menu now has some tasty no nonsense food and I defy anyone to finish their ploughman’s, it’s huge. Well worth a visit.

What a gem of a place, the new owners have taken such pride in their new venture, the Sunday lunches are amazing, with all trimmings. I’d highly recommend this traditional pub, it’s got great ambiance, Lorna and Ray go out of their way to make sure you have a lovely time, nothing is too much trouble for them. I imagine Christmas will be spectacular there. I’ll be in tomorrow for my Sunday roast!!

Great pub with a fantastic atmosphere. Went for a Ska night and had a blast. Would definitely go back if I was in the area. Drinks well priced and liked that there was a mix of all ages all having fun! Staff couldn’t be more helpful or accommodating. Didn’t ever have to wait too long for a drink, even when it was extremely busy!

Spent the weekend in Burnham on crouch and visited the Victoria Inn. So glad we did, what a great night out. Great atmosphere, friendly crowd and the landlords Ray and Lorna make you feel so welcome. Thanks guys look forward to seeing yous again. Felt like the good old days having a great night out in your local.

Visited Saturday night for the ska'n'mash night. Lovely staff, great atmosphere & fantastic DJ. Will be visiting again for future events.

Friendly staff, comfortable garden, and dog friendly. Some ale on tap, but mostly bitters with nothing seasonal or craft available and unchilled lines. We didn't eat, but a nice selection of pieminster pies available. Not open for breakfast, but we will go again.

Oh my god! what an absolutley delicious sunday roast we had, it was one of the best we have had, lamb shank with minted gravy, gorgeous roast potatoes, stuffing, yorkshire and lovely fresh veg needless to say we left clean plates, it was not too expensive either. Staff are lovely, very pleasant surroundings. You need to get there early i'd say between 12 & 1 as it gets very busy. Will be a regular customer here. Thanks to all staff at Victoria for our first tasty sunday roast experience....

We where asked to move from our seat so they could make a table up for a group of six. We had been in the pub for over an hour. 3 other couples came after us and we're not invited to move. I don't mind being helpful but there were tables empty in the same room.

I'm writing this again for my review appears to have got lost in the system. My wife & I visited the Victoria this week and were VERY impressed with new owners Ray & Lorna. Such a friendly welcoming couple. They have completely refurbished the pub and it is emaculate, especially the toilets ( which is Bonus) Lorna's Ploughman's lunch and homemade pies are absolutely excellent. Ray keeps a fine caller and his choice of 3 real ales are superb (I'm a member of CAMRA) I tried all three a couple of times. The Victoria has a fair sized outside seating area and massive carpark. It is also dog friendly, with 'Johnny' the pub Labredor 'just' wandering about. Inside there is both Pool & Darts which is great, making it a typical English country pub. Lovely Jubley. Situated close to the Quay it is ideal for a stroll 'along the front. May this pub go from Strength to Strength. It is a pleasure to visit. JTM France

My wife and I visited the 'Victoria' this week and met the new owners Ray & Lorna. Who have completely refurbished the interia. Ray serves an excellent pint of 'Real Ale ( 3 to choose from) . Lorna's pies and Ploughman's lunch are absolutely lovely. The best I've had for many years. Their pub is dog friendly with 'Johnny' their black Labredor is often seen just wandering around. Situated at the end of the High Street with a large carpark it is well located for a stroll along the Quay / Promenade. Apparently, their is live music once or twice a week. Thus, this is a superb well run family pub, which also has a child's menu and plenty of outside seating. Typical old English pub. Lovely.

Had a lovely Sunday roast. New owners have now taken over, the new decor looks great. Staff are friendly and attentive, I will definitely be back soon.

Just had a fabulous meal at The Victoria Inn. They serve a variety of fantastic pies. Meat, free range chicken, vegetarian and Vegan. Absolutely amazing pies... served with mash, minted peas, gravy and onion bits. Great Idea! We love pies and will probably now have to visit weekly!!

it's the worst place I've been drinking, it tasted like water and the bar was very dirty. it doesn't respect the public distance

They combine their drinks with water! . I'll have a lime and water please.
