What a fabulous pub, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. The Sunday roasts were excellent. Proper no fuss roasts, just how they should be. Plates were over flowing and very reasonably priced too.

Classic country pub, good beer and food, excellent staff and a open fire for that proper pub smell, of beer, gravy and smoke. Food was great.

We had planned to eat here, however, only ended up having a quick drink. There was no heating on and it was freezing.

As a walk leader I/we get to know. the better pubs. I've been using this pub for over 10 years, for group bookings too and Carl and Claire always make it a success. Game of pool too!

First time visiting here for about 15years after moving out of the area for a little while. Having moved back locally I regret leaving it so long before returning. The service from Claire was the same great friendly and welcoming service that I remember. Great selection of local beers. The food was fantastic and the portions were epic. Really cannot fault anything. Will definitely be making the journey back again.

My husband and I were recommended the Sunday lunch by friends. We were not disappointed, really lovely food. Good value for money. We only live locally, so will deffo be back 😋

First time eating lunch here. I had sausage and chips and my other half had Steak and kidney pudding. Both absolutely delicious. Friendly landlady - had time to chat. 😊 Lots of history belonging to the pub. Definitely coming back 👌🏼

Rated the best pub near Mondon, we were very pleasantly surprised with the massive number of options on the menu! I had a lot of difficulty deciding because so many different things looked so delicious, but I settled on the Chicken Katsu, which was definitely an excellent choice! The waitress has a nice and big personality, which made her so very pleasant to talk to. For a completely random stop, I'm of kind to come back intentionally if I'm ever in the area!

I had been here twice now for family meals the landlord and landlady are really friendly and welcoming. The service is good and they are efficient the food is really lovely especially the caramel apple pie.

Had to go back, Sunday lunch is in my opinion is one of the best around, reasonable priced with good home cooked food what more do you want. Is advisable to book because they don't cram tables in. Already booking another lunch

Whet there today for my father-in-law's birthday meal. 14 in total. A few starters, all had main meals and most had puddings. Everyone loved the food. It was very tasty and the portions were great! The kids also enjoyed playing on the pool table & the staff were wonderful and very welcoming. They were even great with my 3 year old who can be a bit of a handful. What a great family pub! Lovely place for us all to have a catch-up. Top ratings from us 👍👌
