Attended a dear friend’s wedding at Braxted Park recently, absolutely beautiful! The gardens, which are enormous are well looked after, riddled with courtyards, fountains and stunning countryside. The wedding venue, is beautiful and the entertainment venue massive, with bar, stage and dance floor. The accommodation, is stunning too, cosy, clean, well decorated and had all you need, including a stunning bathroom. The whole day flowed easily, all areas are close to each other and the staff conducting the day are just fabulous. I personally and I know other guests mentioned not only how amazing a venue we had experienced but how incredibly polite, engaging, personable and knowledgeable the staff were. I would love to thank in particular, some sod the staff that dealt with the accommodation and breakfast. A massive thank you to Amanda, Lisa and Emily who literally made me feel at home. Amazing employees of Braxted Park, your management should be extremely proud to have staff that make guest feel that way. Couldn’t thank them enough, they couldn’t be more lovely, I left with a smile on my face.

Braxted Hall is a wedding venue and I can see why, because the backdrops are fantastic. The main building is lovely. We attended a function for around 250 people which was held in a separate marquee. The food was good and the service very good. I have a problem walking any distance, due to a broken spine, and the staff were very helpful almost over the top with help and if they read this, a big thank you from me. The accommodation is in the stables behind the main house, these are not luxury, pretty basic really, no phone to contact reception and no television, no carpet and no wardrobe, basically the are a one night stay. I recommend this place for any function and a casual stay. Price ok not too expensive.

The Essex Lord's Taverners chose Braxted Park to hold their charity ball, and what an excellent choice. Without exception, all their staff were outstanding. Venue lovely, food great, setting outstanding. Hosts Graham Gooch and David Gower commented on how great Braxted Park was. So much so, David decided to stay the night.

Amazing venue for a wedding! The outside is beautiful and there’s a lot of greenery and lights that look great in the dark. The actual venue inside is very nice, spacious but not massive. Overall perfect for a wedding as the ceremony can take place outdoors while party can take place in the hall. My only issue however is during the summer when I went last month (July 2023) there are a lot of wasps outside! So if guests are hanging out and having food/drink then inevitably they will be attached by wasps. This was very annoying for me and the other guests. But I guess it’s to do with their attention to food/drink. Nevertheless great venue.

I have just returned from an amazing wedding held at Braxted Park. I have never been to a wedding venue like this before but it was absolutely stunning. My husband was the best man and I was a guest and everything from the staff to the accommodation was fabulous. Set in stunning and well maintained grounds, this venue is perfect for couples wanting to get married who are fortunate enough to have the budget to allow for this type of wedding. It depends what you want out of a wedding but for those wanting something grand and impressive then this is the venue for you. The stable rooms are lovely and comfortable, I only deducted one star as my husband took the pillow protector off to help the cleaners in the morning of our departure and the pillow was all stained yellow underneath, also a full English breakfast would have been nice as opposed to a continental given the fact that guest rooms are £150 a night. Overall a beautiful venue in a lovely location.

Lovely place amazing food and venue we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We’ve been to a few weddings and also a few Christmas parties here. The only complaint we have is the DJ - just not very good at all. Old fashioned, doesn’t listen or take requests. Hopefully won’t be the same one next time we return

Attended a wedding here. Venue is beautiful and the staff were very kind and attentive. Brilliant area for eating and dancing, well stocked bar and lovely gardens. Rooms were cute and quirky with a bathroom upstairs in an old stables. The bride and groom stayed in a very well equipped cottage nearby. Fabulous day.

Everything was very well organised, great and friendly staff. The grounds were well kept and the sleeping accomadation was goed and clean. The wedding venu was very well dressed and the food was good. The dance floor was a good size with a good sound system. Shame that the resident DJ was not that good.

I attended a Ladies race day with friends, the venue is beautiful and the event well run but as someone that cannot tolerate gluten I was extremely disappointed. The main meal was fine but although when booking I mentioned I was GF, I still had to ask for a GF roll. Afternoon Tea was unbelievable!! I went to select my sandwiches/rolls but I was told they didn’t have anything to offer me!! Seriously nothing, I then said well what cakes can I have? I was told only meringue , which was very disappointing as they were filled with cream and I also struggle eating cream. I returned to my table ate a meringue after removing the cream, a waiter took my plate and J explain how let down I felt but he said unfortunately there was no GF options. I emailed Braxted Park the following day and received a reply s few days later, to cut a long story short they didn’t give a damn!! The whole experience has put me off ever attending an event run there again, bearing in mind I paid £90 for the day. I would most definitely not recommend.

Very enjoyable visit thanks to Mr & Mrs Duncan Clark opening their grounds and gardens to visitors on this special day. The estate has a long history, with the Plessey Company purchasing it in 1947. Sir Allen George Clark, chairman of the company, and his descendants have been its occupants to the present day. Ideal Wedding Venue with additional Corporate events during the year. Well kept grounds with a special feature being the Walled Gardens. Large marquee offering light refreshments by volunteers, who were very pleasant. We enjoyed our visit so much that we will add to our diaries a for hopefully next year.

The decor is beautifully done and you really feel that there is great attention to detail. Would have been good to have had someone showing us where we should go once we parked our car. First stop is a marquee where we had drinks and canapé. Very nice. They had excellent singer as well. It was freezing though and we couldn’t wait to get inside. The venue is decorated beautifully and the tables looked lovely. There didn’t seem to much organisation when it came to bringing out the food. Some tables had completely finished whilst we were still waiting. The starters were shared and they were very small in number. A bit of a disappointment. The main course was one we waited a long time for. We were one of the last tables to be served. 3 tiny potatoes! Check out the photo which shows the size of the potatoes next to a carrot!! The food was quite dry where it had been waiting for a long time. Nice, but small. Puddings were shares as well and they were ok. Port, coffee and cheese and biscuits were serve yourself but there wasn’t much left by the time we got there. Wine was provided in the price red or white. I like rose, so I missed out!! Overall, it was a good night out for the price.

I had my wedding here in October 2016, and it was such a fantastic venue. The office staff were very helpful in the run-up to the big day, very good for getting things planned in. We made a few trips to the venue before the day to check arrangements and practice our first dance on the dance floor itself. On the day, the co-ordinator was great, and it was very useful to have car parking attendants. We had a morning ceremony in the Orangerie for a small group, that was a lovely room. We then had a large afternoon wedding reception in the marquee in the walled garden, which was a superb setting. As my wife's side of the family are Sri Lankan, we had "dry hire" of the venue, as we wanted to bring in Asian caterers. Looking back, I would say as feedback for the venue that it would have been much easier for me if we could have put money behind the bar and have Braxted operate the bar in the evening. It was quite tricky having large volumes of alcohol delivered to a shed behind the marquee, have to move it down ourselves by wheelbarrow, and purchase 60kg of ice and large ice bins to make sure everything was chilled in time. But we managed! I daresay it was cheaper for us that way too... Anyway thanks Braxted, would definitely recommend for other couples.

Absolutely, beautiful venue! The Estate and the gardens, it’s grounds, are spectacular. The Pavillion and Stable Accommodation, are second-to-none. The personnel and staff, are friendly, highly professional and very welcoming. A fairy-tale place, for a wedding. Truly, magical and wonderful!

I attending my friend's wedding here yesterday. The grounds are beautiful and the day was perfect despite the weather.I have recently become vegan and forgot to tell the bride- whoops! I had resigned myself to not being able to eat much. BUT a staff member found out I was vegan, consulted with the chef, and I was given a 3 course vegan (delicious) meal at a moments notice. Fantastic service!!

This was my second visit and my husbands third so apologies for nor reviewing sooner. This place is an absolute gem. Great food, lovely team. I had a fish finger sandwich in lovely granary bread, my daughter had a cheese toastie and the hubster (on his first trip out after knee replacement surgery) had a cooked breakfast. Everything was delicious. We also had a couple of chip sides...just fantastic! We were beaten but had a couple of cake takeaways too. The chocolate cake and fruit cake have been given a big 5/5 this afternoon. Thanks to the lovely ladies that looked after us today

Visited Black pig on a Sunday morning for brunch and it was very tasty. The presentation of the dishes is fantastic along with the excellent ingredients make each meal very enjoyable. We ordered the veggie brunch and Eggs Royale which I added a portion of streaky bacon as an extra. We also had the hash browns as a side dish which would have been nicer if the portion was for four and not three to save fighting for the odd one . Overall well worth a visit for some quality food.

What an amazing little find. Friendly staff, clean venue and setting outside. Some lovely touches like blankets for outdoor seating, lovely beach feel and nice chilled music. Not too loud. If you get a chance definitely pop in and support this independent business! Thanks guys, the coffee was superb.
