Friendly staff very knowledgeable about their menu and drinks and made us feel very welcome. Drinks and food menu extensive, dietary requirements well labelled. My daughter delighted as menu so varied with adjustments possible to dishes she had more choice than she's had for a long time. Food excellent and good value for money. We look forward to returning but do advise booking, they're very popular and with good reason.

A cosy place for an evening meal. A varied selection of dishes on the evening menu - would highly recommend the chicken and leek suet pudding and veg. Reasonably priced too.

We had 12 members of our family there for my mums 80th birthday. They don’t normally cater for groups of more than 8 but they made an exception for mum as she has eaten there for years. Staff were superb as always, plus the food was excellent. They catered for all ages and allowed us to bring our own cake. The food and service are so much better than you should ever expect from a pub. Eat here and you won’t be disappointed.

For me this is a good regular Essex lunching pub. This visit was to meet up with a group of old friends. All reported an excellent meal, friendly staff and good atmosphere. We were not pressed to leave after the lunch, so were left to reminisce at out leisure.

Absolutely Lovely Treacle tart was phenomenal Service superb only minor flaw they sold Famous Grouse not Bells but mentioned it to Landlady and feel that will be rectified at my next visit next month ...perfect for business and/or pleasure Mrs Jones

Members of our familky had just returned from Cornwall to live in Maldon. The Queen Victoria is their local pub. Lucky them and lucky us as they were able to book a table for the Sunday Roast. What a roast the beef was fantastic. Large well cooked slices and fresh veg and hot gravy. Had to thing twice if I had room for a dessert. But I had thank goodness. I don't think you would get the same service and meal in The Queen Vic in the Eastend!! Well done Emma and Team for making our evening. We will be back.

Just had a fantastic meal at the Queen Vic Maldon celebrating our mums 85th birthday. The food was amazing very good portion and all presented really well and lots of choice. We had great service All the staff were really warm and welcoming especially the lady who served our table, sorry didn’t get her name. If your looking for somewhere with great food great service at very reasonable prices and a lovely atmosphere then this is the place to go

This is a delightful pub. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Food was delicious, the atmosphere great. Well worth a visit if you’re looking for a great place to eat. Do book a table though as we were there at opening time and luckily got the last place, it’s very popular with locals.

If you’re looking for a bit of Bavaria in Essex, the Queen Victoria Pub in Maldon absolutely nailed it with their Oktoberfest night. Picture this: a lively marquee draped in German flags, an oompah band belting out a mix of classic English and German tunes (yes, “Sweet Caroline” made an appearance, of course). I went with a group of friends, and let’s just say it was less ‘Heathrow holding pattern’ and more ‘wheels up’ on the fun front. The atmosphere was infectious—every table was buzzing, the beer was flowing (though I opted for some bubbly Prosecco to keep things a bit First Class, naturally). The bratwurst menu was as authentic as you’d expect, and the staff were fully committed to the occasion, decked out in traditional German garb, serving drinks at the table like a well-rehearsed cabin crew, only with less turbulence and more lederhosen. The oompah band was the highlight. Equal parts hilarious and talented, they had the crowd singing along to everything. It was one of those nights where everyone—whether on their first pint or their fourth—was united in song. I haven’t seen this much group participation since an in-flight safety demo! All in all, the Queen Victoria gave us an Oktoberfest to remember. If you’re after a fun night out, a cheeky singalong, and a Prosecco (or three), this pub has your boarding pass ready. Just make sure you bring your best “prost!” and an appetite for bratwurst!

Spent a few days in Maldon, plenty of eating places, but not many serving traditional English food, one doing it in style is the Queen Victoria, great varied menu as well as a good specials board, lovely friendly people running the place, small car park, can get a wheelchair in, if you are in the area definitely worth a visit, be sure to book

Always delighted with coming back here. Not only are the owners superb, the staff are always helpful, friendly and happy to be working there...either that, or they are very good at acting 😂 Being vegan, it is always nice to have a choice of delicious food, a little hard to make the choice with knowing it is all good. Highly recommended with coming here. The food choice is amazing and the large extensive drinks available along with the friendly staff, makes this pub a delight to come back, again and again.

Staying just down the road and they were able to accommodate us as we were coming early. Our waitress and all the staff were extremely attentive and friendly. My partner had the burger and I had the halloumi and mushroom burger. It was the best tasting vegetarian burger I think I've ever tasted. The combination of ingredients was perfect. We added some onion rings and they were epic. We really enjoyed our visit, thank you

I had an amazing roast beef today in this place, I was passing by and I saw lot of people arriving, I didn't have book but the lady was really nice and she gave me a small table where I really enjoyed my lunch. Everything was perfect

Beautiful place with delicious food.

Popped in for a pint of Moretti this afternoon and was greeted by a very friendly and happy landlady. Outside at the rear, they’ve used the space really well with both non-smoking and smoking areas in a nice secluded area. Will definitely return the next time I’m in Maldon.

I don't think i've ever been made to feel more welcome in a pub before - absolutely excellent. Food, drinks & atmosphere are just perfect.

Lovely food, friendly efficient staff. There were 10 of us and all our meals came out together.

We had been told this was a friendly pub doing great food and local ales. We booked for 5pm as there was a quiz night which was very popular. The meals we had we excelent the staff very friendly. I finished with the chesse board - and was in for a surprise.........I had asked what the cheeses were - expecting to be told 3 or 4. Not here out came an information sheet and told I could pick 3 or 4 from the list. The cheese were a delight We did eat on a Sunday and some menu options were not available on a Sunday. So this means that another trip will be arranged because I want to try the seafood platter (amongst other things). Beers and wines very reasonably priced.

Good professional staff , very busy but staff was calm and productive. Food was good .Views was beautiful a lovely day was had sitting outside with friends eating and drinking.

Went for lunch and got a friendly welcome as soon as we walked in. Food delicious, I had the salmon with crab and prawn sauce and my husband had sweet chilli sticky beef with egg fried rice . My husband enjoyed the Southwold Bitter. Small car park but easily got parked in the street. Would highly recommend.

I had dinner with a large group of friends on a Monday evening. It was the first time the chef on duty ‘Amber’ had cooked dinner for such a large group but coped wonderfully. The food was excellent and delicious as always. I have coeliacs but can always rely on the team to look after my requirements. The mushroom meatballs were extremely tasty and well presented. Everyone on our table received their main course around the same time which must have taken some careful planning. I treated myself to the gluten free crumble for dessert and had dairy free ice cream. I returned later in the week for an impromptu lunch with visiting relatives. We were all made welcome, including our 4 year old granddaughter who was given a colouring sheet and pencils. We sat in the tastefully finished outdoor area. I had a gluten free baguette with tuna mayonnaise. It came with salad and a small bowl of chips (granddaughter enjoyed them). The team at the Queen Victoria are always friendly and welcoming and the food never fails to impress.

The food (and beer) is always lovely. Thse menu is extensive with plenty of styles of food. Great staff, great value. We will be back... also for the quiz night.

Such a lovely friendly atmosphere here. The place is always busy, the staff are friendly and helpful, the beer is good. I come here regularly and always receive the warmest welcome. Parking can be difficult during the day, but you can park on the road in the evenings.

This is the place in Maldon to go for food! The menu is very well laid out, with all food allergies listed. We booked a table for a Sunday roast and it did not disappoint. Huge portions, very very well cooked and presented. The staff and owners were very welcoming (felt as if we had known them for years) Looking forward to going back when we're back down in Maldon at the end of August

We went to celebrate a birthday. We were greeted by a smiling Emma who totally ensured we had a beautiful, well presented by chef meal, brilliant wine and nothing was too much trouble. This pub/restaurant is run by 32 members of staff who are a 'family' and that comes across. This makes for an excellent, calm and happy atmosphere. Thank you very much we had a great time. I highly recommend The Queen Victoria but do remember to book!!

We’ve eaten many times at the Queen Vic and the food and service never fail, always extremely good. Today at the start of National Pie Week we went along for lunch on a Monday, unusual for us, but needs must! Both our pies were amazing, mine was the Pheasant and Haggis while hers was the shoulder of lamb. Mine was probably the best pie I’ve eaten there, and we are pretty much regulars. Lots of meat, a generous portion of veg, and lots of gravy! Yum! I followed my main course pie with another for dessert, apple and blackberry, with custard. All in all an excellent meal! If only we could “borrow” the chef!

Went to visit friends who have moved nearby. From the moment you arrive you are welcomed and the staff are attentive, polite and professional. Excellent customer service, you can see they really value that aspect of their role and provided great service throughout our visit. Food was lovely too of course

There is nothing we can fault at the Queen Vic. It is just great in all respects, the staff both those front of house but in the kitchen too. Service and courtesy was excellent and the food was equally as good and served in good portions. In Maldon area the Queen Vic would be hard to beat. 👍😊

Managed to get the last table on a Sunday, this was our second visit and I can honestly say it will not be our last. Prices are, compared to other venues, very good. Sunday lunch is excellent and the pies and puddings are among the best. Booking is a must as it’s a very popular pub, they also stock an excellent range of ales.

Sunday Lunch. Excellent all round and in this day of crazy inflation, tremendous value. Enjoyed the pate of the day between us and both had the Sunday roast option. Pork and Chicken combo was perfectly executed and service by all front of house faultless.Would make a tiny observation,Because of the very large portions the plate did look a bit overcrowded and if possible , I would prefer some of the veg in a side dish, but as i said, more an observation than a gripe. Have managed a booking in a months time as it gets fully . booked quickly, which comes as no surprise.we lookl forward to our next booking.

Came here for a Sunday roast as staying nearby in a holiday park. Lovely home cooked roast with all the trimmings! Staff were very hospitable and there was an abundance of drinks available! Small car park but lots of places to park in surrounding roads. Reasonably priced and lots of food served for the price paid!

Really excellent food and service so you need to book in advance. We had the Sunday roast dinner and there was plenty of it. The menu was great and there was something for everyone. This is our 3rd visit to this lovely pub for our yearly Christmas get together with friends. I really like it. The food's good, the staff are lovely and the customers are friendly. Will be back for our Christmas 2024 get together and hopefully we won't miss the Carol singers next time. 😊

I can't stress enough my pleasure at having our walking groups Christmas Dinner at this pub. The staff, Becks and the other waiter, and the owner couldn't be more welcoming. What a pleasure it was to have our lunch at this lovely pub. I am a vegetarian and have not had a savoury steamed pudding in years because of them containing beef suet. Well, go there folks if you want a perfect vegetarian steam pudding...
