The best restaurants in Huntingdonshire East of England

Told that the restaurant was fully booked so we couldn’t eat there so we sat in the bar area for a drink. We then saw other people eating food in the bar area so we asked another member of staff if we could eat in the bar and she said she couldn’t see why not as other people were eating there. She came back to us and told us no we couldn’t eat in the bar area. This is totally unacceptable and discriminatory behaviour towards my partner and I. We will not being going back there. The restaurant was not busy and neither was the bar area. This was at 8pm on a Saturday evening.

Service here is shocking slow, more worried about taking the money and having 15 people wait for one person making the drinks, one person taking orders and money. Silly way of service now. Attitude from manager when suggested both make the drinks to catch up. Was deeply offended that a customer made a suggestion that goes against company policies. Customer service out the window along with common sense.

Who benefits from this arrangement, and why are such high rates deemed acceptable when more cost-effective and humane alternatives likely exist? The treatment of the homeless residents compounds the issue. Reports of pervasive surveillance, with security staff listening in on conversations through an extensive camera network, are chilling. Such measures, far from providing safety, create an oppressive environment where individuals are stripped of dignity and privacy. The implication that homeless people must be monitored so intrusively perpetuates harmful stereotypes, reducing them to objects of suspicion rather than human beings deserving of support and respect. This Orwellian approach undermines the purpose of such accommodations: to provide a safe, supportive space for individuals at their most vulnerable. Instead, the invasive surveillance fosters mistrust and humiliation, leaving residents feeling more marginalized than ever. The council must urgently review this arrangement. A thorough investigation into the costs and conditions is needed, alongside meaningful consultation with the individuals directly impacted. Public funds should be directed toward solutions that prioritize dignity, privacy, and genuine rehabilitation—not profit-driven schemes that treat homelessness as an opportunity for exploitation.

I had some absolutely perfectly cooked haddock and chips today. The batter was brown, thin and crispy, with no soggy patches and no excess oil. Really good job by the two lads in there today.

First off they have banging food but they forgot a corma curry and we paid £70 pounds for 5 curry's and only 4 arrived this as always been a go to when we wanted a curry then we rang up and said we have ordered 5 curry's and we are missing a corma and a nan bread they said we can help u and send them out to give it u but it will be £8.00 pounds then started arguing with us on the phone and called my dad drunk when he don't d4ink

Ordered online, then got a notification to say they cancelled order for no reason, so me and kids deciding what to have as a treat for then the delivery driver to arrive with the food at the door kids happy they have what they originally wanted , I said I thought it was cancelled so he went back to his car to see what was going on then nothing so I rang them to see are we actually getting the food we wanted as he drive brought it to the door and the kids saw it for then to say there mistake it was cancelled they didn’t mean to and then said the driver has brought the food back and nothing they can do, talk about dangling right in the kids faces and taking it away again. Not happy poor customer service will not use again

No sunday roast, metal chairs and no atmosphere . No longer a traditional garden centre but a place fukk of everything

This spot is amazing its a perfect place to go for a time out in st ives town. Its got lovely staff they are very friendly. They work hard with a smile always help and always ready to serve. This is probaly the best coffee shop in cambridge and the coffee they serve is so nice and the food is always fresh and great. Big love to the team manager emma, the store leader eugine, the workers tammy hazel and harvey all the staff are great and welcoming. A must go if your visiting st ives.

Great food spoiled by a lady serving that were absolutely disgusting and disrespectful never again, when ordering it asks for a name then they call it out by number. Then when asked your shown up in front of other customers with a disrespectful attitude

Ordered food on Christmas Eve at 5.30pm to be collected at 6.30pm. Arrived at shop at 6.25 pm to collect the food when ready. Still waiting for the food at 7.30 pm. Eventually got food at 7.45 pm. This is shocking service. The same happened last year so as the nine of us have a Chinese every year on Christmas Eve we will be taking our large order elsewhere next year.

Great Food & Service!!Visited one afternoon, was quiet but i was served really quickly by friendly staff who chatted to me while making my sub. Place clean and tidy. Last time I visited here over a year ago was not very clean and rude staff. This branch has maybe got a new franchise owner as was very impressed at how much better it was compared to last time!!! Well done to Subway Spaldwick!

Pizza was dry and had obviously been sitting there a long time. Tried to give us a meat pasty when we’d asked for vegan! Luckily we noticed. These small details put customers off hence why feeding back
