Wok & Eat in Huntingdonshire

Ordered online, then got a notification to say they cancelled order for no reason, so me and kids deciding what to have as a treat for then the delivery driver to arrive with the food at the door kids happy they have what they originally wanted , I said I thought it was cancelled so he went back to his car to see what was going on then nothing so I rang them to see are we actually getting the food we wanted as he drive brought it to the door and the kids saw it for then to say there mistake it was cancelled they didn’t mean to and then said the driver has brought the food back and nothing they can do, talk about dangling right in the kids faces and taking it away again. Not happy poor customer service will not use again

Went and collected a meal to take away drive home dished up food it was that bad had to go straight in bin the sauce all you could taste was tomato sauce no chicken in the balls just batter food was inedible chips had been re fried was stale

Hot and spicy soup. Singapore Fried rice, Chinese chiken on beansprouts, and chicken in a black bean sauce. Delivered promptly, and still piping hot.

Terrible service. They left out our sweet and sour sauce for our chicken. Called up to complain and they said they would re deliver the sauce (we only live a 2 minute drive away) 35 minutes later it arrived after I tried calling to tell them not to bother anymore as we’d already eaten. Alas they ignored the call. Won’t be using again.

Brilliant Chinese, and a really great value set meal. The meal included Bbq ribs, chicken balls (with a pot of sauce) Yeung Chow fried rice and a choice of main for which I chose Happy Family, all of these were absolutely lovely. I travel a lot for work and stay in hotels, I often opt for a Chinese takeaway and I've had some pretty rough ones over the years. This one however was right up there as one of the best I've had. Delivery took a little while but the time was given when I ordered, this didn't change and it arrived bang on time. I should also give credit to the delivery driver, she rang my mobile as they arrived and she was really nice and polite. Thank you!

I used to love Wok & Eat but last night was the worst meal I’ve ever had. The chips were all hard, satay sauce was running, sweet and sour sauce taste like medicine and there was no flavour at all. So disappointed but never again will I eat there as I had a packet of bachelors cheese & broccoli pasta straight after and was 1000 times better.

Initially, the delivery was late - around 7 minutes late. Which isn't too bad but the uber eats app did not update where the driver was therefore i wasn't able to track my order, i called the restaurant many times for an update on where the food was and unfortunately the 'line was busy', at some point the line was picked up but then immediately put down? So really the communication was very bad. As for the food - i ordered the assorted starter for one and the house special fried rice - i like the idea of an assorted starter, it was nice and affordable - the BBQ ribs could have done with a little more BBQ sauce and the fried rice was nice, but really the delivery time and communication needs to be worked on.

Very disappointed order arrived an hour after estimated time. Food was all cold, soggy chips and chicken balls, and the sauce was spilled in the bag due to the lid not being on the pot. We won’t be ordering again from here sorry.

Absolutely terrible. Twice these people have accepted orders online when they are not open. Fail to answer the answer phone and then frankly don’t care when you do speak to them. Do not order from these absolute fools.

3 hour wait for a order placed at a sensible time for a family takeaway.. ended up having to sort another dinner out for children and didn’t arrive until they were long in bed! Failed to answer phone after trying so many times get through to them no sorry no real “Sh1t” to give seeming they already had our money! Food was shocking and cold when arrived NEVER ordering from here again!

Great delivery service, food not the best, very bland and black bean sauce tasted watered down instead of being thick and rich flavoured. Crispy duck ok and comes with 10 pancakes but nowhere near enough hoisin or cucumber / spring onion for one person never mind two of us. Shame as service is good but food mediocre.

I think the food is great, very consistant and tasty! Chicken chowmein tasted great. Chicken balls and chips very nice!

My local Chinese takeaway and I've never had a bad meal from them. Deliveries are always very quick and before lockdown, if I went to pick up, they were equally super speedy. Chow mein is always excellent, generous portions of meat in my recent duck in plum sauce, yummy banana fritters. Keep up the excellent work!

A little disappointed to say the least. 1 he wait for delivery at 5.30pm on a monday when its 2 miles away. Chips were warm and I'm pretty sure they were reheated and the picture is what £5.50 worth of smoked chicken looks like. £30 for our monthly treat and I won't bother again

FORGET WHAT I SAID......about this lot being contenders for the Best Chinese Takeaway in Peterborough. No consistency of quality unfortunately. We've ordered a few times during the week but at the weekend our order was well below average. We waited 15 minutes shy of 2 hrs to get :- Ropey - ribs Tasteless sesame prawn toast Bland egg fried rice Didgy cantonese style sweet & sour prawns Totally wrong kung pao chicken - There was way, way too much sauce in the Kung Pao, there should be only a bit. The sauce was seriously overdosed with cayenne pepper, ZERO NUTS - not peanuts nor cashews. Tasted as if they were scrimping on ingredients, all the sauces were just based on a cheap chinese supermarket type sweet and sour. Either that or the chef was clueless?? What went wrong Wok & Eat? I'll leave it a while before I try again.

the food at Wok & Eat is lovely but on the Cafe Menu starters are very small portions this that salt-and-pepper chicken wings not a lot of chicken. plenty of rice or noodlesPlenty of rice or noodles and plenty of main courseFriendly service the only problem I have unique fix your tables all of the tables have been edging coming off all it takes is a bit of wood glue to stick it back on

Ordered a few takeaways from Wok & Eat &, so far so goodI like to judge a CT on their egg fried rice, crispy chilli beef and sweet & sour king prawns balls and I can report back that they are good all round.The egg fried rice taste authentic, the crispy chilli beef tastes fresh with separate tastes to the component ingredients, the king prawn balls were cooked well. Good portion sizes and quick service.

I eat here a fair amount as the food seems fresh as can eat in and it’s fairly priced with good parking available. There are some niggles of late which are so fixable: 1. Have boiled rice available at lunch times 2. Stay open to the hours advertised - lost my business one day in December 3. Open the doors at the time advertised - lost my business one day in December (I didn’t want fish and chips but I am not willing to wait outside in the cold)Please sort out these basics...

great food portions just be really good price have gone up getting less for your money this is a great way to lose your customers then you close down This is a great disappointment as are used to come once week I now go to ibrahimi £2 extra but a lot more free money and on a Sunday it only £10.90 b4 7pm. I don’t usually leave reviews, however I’m absolutely baffled with the experience I’ve just received. Placed an order at bang on 6pm, as I had guests round for dinner and I didn’t finish work until late. Was assured it would be there within the hour. 7pm comes and I ring them up as I’m a bit concerned that my guests are running out of time. They didn’t answer my call after 2 minutes of ringing. Tried again, nothing. I used my guest’s phone and they answered first ring (weird). They said that the driver had been sent to Whittlesey (I live in Stanground) and was just round the corner. My guests had to leave at 7:10 so they went without food and went to a McDonalds on the way home. When asked about some form of compensation, she said “I can give you 20% off your next order”, however I said this wasn’t acceptable as I probably wouldn’t be ordering again. When asked to speak to the supervisor, she said he doesn’t work until the weekend (can’t be too good at supervising then). When asked for a mobile number, she said she didn’t have it. I then asked for an email, she said she didn’t have it. Like I say, I don’t normally leave reviews but I’ve got no way of taking this complaint further, and apparently no one of authority is contactable on site. When the food arrived after its 25 mile trip, it was stone cold so we’ve had to have a microwave meal. Smelt lovely, but not entirely edible. If you have guests round, or need to eat on a timescale, don’t order from this company. I will be willing to remove my review if anyone is able to contact me with a solution, however this is appalling.

me and my mate used to came ever 2 weeks miss out on a few weeks and pop in yesterday and portions are getting smaller and not a lot of Meet on the chicken prices are going up cannot complain about the food quality very nice but this is one way to lose customers

Wok and Eat is a venue I eat at once a week and I love it. It is fairly priced Chinese/ Asian food and is always piping hot and full of flavour.

My husband and I eat a lot in fine restaurants and love good takeaway, but we never had such an amazing food from Chinese restaurant. The meat is so soft, the flavours are perfect. Service is amazing and always on time. I wish I was living in Peterborough to have it every weekend. The only thing I have to say to the restaurant is that you guys give way too much meat with special fried rice, you will go bankrupt if you carry on haha. Either put the price up or reduce in meat as the portion is massive. Well done we love it.

Recently discovered Wok & Eat through a recommendation and not disappointed. Two takeaways ordered online in the last month and really enjoyed. The delivery service was good (not unreasonable eta given) and food was hot and tasty. Definitely number 1 on my list for Chinese food.

Go here sometimes from work, they do an interesting meal option where you can select the type of dish and protein from a bullet list and then they make it up and bring out, small dining area in the shop (they do take out and maybe deliveries in evening?)

Guy behind the counter threw the food on the counter then swore at me! Absolute disgrace! Claimed to be the manager ! Needs to learn some manners and that in hospitality the customer asks the customer gets ! Awful service !

Went for a spicy prawn dish, was very bland . Also had the ribs, very greasy And the man on the front desk needs to cheer up. Won't be returning

This is my local Chinese Takeaway, I have ordered from here about 4 or 5 times in the last year and have never been disappointed. The service is very fast the premises is well kept and has an excellent food rating. The staff are friendly and most importantly I really like the quality of food for the price I pay. They also have a cafe area for you to eat in. I have not used this yet, however do plan to when I have time. I am really happy that Hempsted has this takeaway.

Bland , Tasteless asked for a dish to be spicy but mcdonalds burgers are more spicy.

Went in and ordered one of the set box meals. I went for the one with a starter, side, main and drink (Chicken balls, egg fried rice and crispy chilli beef) for £7.49. At first I was dubious as I normally like to mix meals with other people, but it's such a good idea for a change as everyone can order what they like. Good size, filling boxes and for a reasonable price. Would definitely try again and try another combination.

We live local to this restaurant and order here quite regularly! Every single time our order only takes 10-15 minutes maximum to be ready and food always tastes fresh and hot!

We have the box deals 1 starter, 1 rice or noodles and 1 main. With a drink. The food is delicious. I recommended the smoked chicken for starters, crispy beef or chilli chicken for main.

Visited here yesterday and the food was excellent. Service was great and the food was so fresh and tasty. I had the chicken Szechuan and egg fried rice. You could see it being cooked to order in the kitchen. Great value for money and will be returning soon

Just had a takeaway from here. king prawn in black bean sauce with green peppers and egg fried rice. It was delicious. I will be back. Service was goid

The food tastes like Chinese used to, really fresh and so very tasty. We usually have a takeaway from them once a week and have never had a bad fish. Delivery normally takes 45 minutes to Hampton Centre. We have tried others but no other Chinese takeaway comes close to the taste and quality of food. The menu is varied and reasonably priced. Try the chicken and bacon rice!

We cannot get enough of this place!!! £5.49 for a main, side and a drink, and the portions are really generous! It's great value and the quality has never dipped from perfect, which is amazing considering how many times we have visited! Cannot rate this place high enough
