The best restaurants in Great Yarmouth East of England

Used to be the only chinese i go to. Needs shutting down. Dont know what you are serving but it is not edible. Why is your swt n sour sauce like jelly?! And ur chicken is so rubbery i cannot bite through it?! Literally lost a regular customer! Your prices have gone up but the quality is shockingly bad to a point ive now changed what was once a good review!!

Its a 2* chinese take away. Chicken balls are full of grease, chow mein is swimming in oil and the ribs smell off. Not from here so thankfully wont have to contemplate having it again. Try somewhere else!

I was absolutely blown away by the quantity and quality of food that was delivered bang on time!!! I must admit I was a little dubious when I saw the leaflet on our caravan and the reviews didn't really help, however the delivery shows that the restaurant takes pride on what goes out to customers!!! I hasten to add that it was much better than I get at home ...

the coffee not good the tea is ok but they have did not put the milk in it and they were happen because there was any suger or spoon

We ate at the mash and barrel on Friday 28/3/25 when we arrived at the holiday park. The food and service did not disappoint at all. We ordered the Mixed grill (the steak was cooked a medium to perfection), full rack of ribs and chicken basket. Everything was delicious, fresh and well presented. We were even tempted to order the sharing dessert platter, which was really tasty and the brownies were hot too, yummy! We asked the server to please pass on our compliments to the chefs as people are too quick to complain but never give praise where praise is due. We were so thrilled at the food and service that we went for breakfast on sat 29/3/25 before we headed out for the day. This again did not disappoint. Very reasonable, fresh, hot and tasty. We had 2 full breakfasts and the pancakes with bacon and syrup. We also need to mention that all the staff were polite and helpful but especially Bruno who went above and beyond on our Friday visit to the restaurant. Thank you so much.

We had been for afternoon tea in the past and remembered it very fondly. However our meal this time was not good. Very loud environment. Couldn’t have a conversation. Nosiest place we have ever eaten at! Didn't really feel welcome. Despite having booked a table of 6. Our table also kept getting knocked by the slamming doors. Our food took ages to come well over 45 minutes. Staff just tried to push more drinks. The food was ok although some we would have sent some back (the bbq ribs) but we couldn't bear stay any longer. we didn’t stay for dessert etc Never again!

Awful. Not cooked properly, hardly any cheese. Total rubbish.

Lovely sunny day for a brisk walk along Gorleston seafront which was completed with fish and Chips at J J’s. We’ve been here a number of times over recent years and they always offer good food,cakes, drinks and value for money. The beach is always spotless and flys a blue flag for being one of the cleanest in the area. Cycling and dog walking is also encouraged. I would highly recommended a visit and would say you will not be dissatisfied.

The fish and chip shop was very quiet when I made my order, which was a big clue. The fish was dry and overcooked and the batter was not very airy. It was more like breaded fish. The chips were really poor. Definitely looked and tasted like oven chips. The highlight was the curry sauce and the server was charming. There must be so much better available in Great Yarmouth, this was so disappointing.

Terrible food, disgusting oil that the food is cooked in, none of my family could eat their food It was horrendous.

Used this outlet twice whilst on holiday. Excellent speed of service to our caravan and the food was excellent. We had pizza, fried chicken and burgers and can recommend the lot! Keep up the good work! Will be used again

With lots of places closing early during our stay we were only left with a few options this being one of them so if you’re after a late night meal this is the place. Our order was taken quickly and served up quickly too. It was tasty. The restaurant itself however is not a pleasant environment. It’s a bit like a barren school dinner hall and not pleasant at all. Make the restaurant a bit more comfortable and this would be great!
