The best restaurants in Epping Forest East of England

I wish I could give more than 5 stars for service. Kirsty was an absolute legend. What a wonderful way to spend my Nanny's 90th birthday. A superb meal and incredible service.

When you need and crave a good roast dinner, this certainly hit the spot. Great service, lovely waitress and exceptional food

Went on a fairly busy Saturday night for a birthday meal with 7 friends, so was expecting a slightly slower service. Our server was Dylan, he took our drinks order, which came quickly. We then ordered our starters, which both arrived with no issue. There was a sight wait between course, but considering the amount of us that was expected. Wait between Mains and dessert was slightly longer than normal, but Dylan kept us updated as to why and apologised every time he came to the table very friendly and helpful server.

Good food/chill settings/friendly staff. I love it here, all year round it’s a nice place to come a chill out solo with or with friends

Always have a very pleasant experience when visiting our local miller and Carter. Last night we were served by Corinne who was so lovely and friendly, checked up on us and gave us amazing service. Staff here are run off their feet at busy times but Corinne doesn’t let any table be forgotten! Never had any issues with the food, always served hot and steak always cooked exactly how we ask. Tables (and the floor) are always clean

We had a lovely meal there for my son’s 21st birthday on Saturday , it was a set meal from the Christmas menu. The staff were so lovely and friendly all the way though and the owner was really attentive asking us if we were ok and if everything was good. Would definitely come back and we will do again soon. Very disappointed. Have been going there for years but not just recently. There were no menues on the tables. We had to stand and read from a blackboard. Not very satisfactory for people who find it hard to walk. Luckily not many people were there or you would need to stand over someone’s table to be able to read it. The wine we ordered was not available and the two items we wanted on the menu were not available including cream. The fish pie was poor with just white fish and a small amount of salmon and no other fish. The mashed potato was very salty. The sticky toffee pudding was the strangest I have seen and was dry and heavy. The spotted dick had been over cooked in the microwave and was burnt and solid on the base, so was inedible. This was pointed out but no reduction was offered. We will not be returning. It is nothing like it used to be.

What a lovely little bakery. We popped in on our way past and was pleasantly surprised. We picked up some lunch and snacks for the kids. So much to choose from and all freshly baked on site. Will definitely be visiting again.

A perfect setting for a reunion of old friends. Another top-notch meal. Excellent service delivers high class cuisine. An absolute gem.

First visit and impressed. Portion size was excellent - had a fillet steak. Usually find with a fillet the size can be on the smaller size, it was big enough for two portions and cooked well. My wife's meal was also very good. Will go back but won't have a starter...

Lovely surroundings and an excellent menu with loads of choices both for types of food and for prices. (A LA Carte or Fixed Price) First class customer service too from Sara(h). The portions were decent and the food tasted great. Good option for drinks too and if in the area it's well worth stopping off for a meal.

Chicken was so dry and over cooked no taste at all / this was the first time we have tried this shop/ am sorry it was awful. Never going back to them .

Booked for a Sunday lunch with the family. Very impressed. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were warm welcoming. Couldn’t think of a better Sunday roast in the Epping/ Chingford area. Highly recommended!

Superb meal, lovely spacious restaurant, great staff and delicious currys. We have been going to this curry house for over 25 years and it never fails to deliver on price, quality and excellent service.

This place has certainly had its time. Desperately needs a urgent refurbishment. I wonder when the last hygiene inspection was done?? The food was without doubt precooked and totally tasteless tried to complain but said I was lying!!! Also very strange when you call it gets diverted and a strange ringing. They have also reduced their portion size but not the price. I will never go back there. Try Hong Kong up the road from there. They honestly don't give a danm.
