I had this from the bengal tonight and have to say best so far so so much food and so tasty thank you soo much couldn’t even finish half of it there was so much

Food quality was diabolical! Definitely avoid at all costs. Ordered karahi special meat curry which was mostly vegetables and hardly any meat. They also didn’t send a prawn curry so had to ask justeat for a refund

Always great tasting food and I always appreciate how they handle my sons food allergies - helpful and reassuring.

1st time tried this restaurant in a number of years as it’s my local Indian. Sadly didn’t make a great impression. Starters small and oily and the salad with the Baghi was not fresh . Madras very citrus flavour. Ordered meat tikka had about 6-7 small pieces of meat and a big pot of sauce. Positives the Nan bread was nice.

I went here for a solo dinner. All fine until the bill came. I was charged £3:80 for 1 poppadom (0.95 + 3 sauces at 0.95 each) I eventually got this charge removed (being that I hadn’t asked for sauces - definitely never paid for sauces in an Indian before ) but not before being told I’ve never been to an Indian restaurant (I have -many) I just want free food (nope just want to pay for what I order) and I’m lucky they haven’t added a non discretionary service charge (?!) I had to reiterate (multiple times) that although I’m not happy I’d certainly pay rather than argue , the waiter did not want to give up the debate and I just wanted a stress free dinner! Weirdest experience!

Since the new refurb the restaurant is brilliant and the food is delicious best thing to happen to the area for a long time,fantastic food and service is great,better then other local Indians,5stars

Slight mishap with the order but got it sorted out.

Good food, but slightly disappointed that when ordering collection time states 20 minutes but when the order is processed that changes to 50 minutes.

The food was tasty and still hot when delivered. It arrived on time.

Done a pre order before the restaurant opened. My order was confirmed at 5pm for a 5:45pm delivery It didn’t arrive until 6:50pm

Got a chicken passanda, chicken was inedible, all grisle, sauce was mediocre, got a pot of mint sauce that had spilt all over the bag, would not get anything out of there again

My gf got a bad H. Pylori infection that took weeks to clear after eating here. 0/10 would advise anyone eating here to absolutely avoid it. the food tasted awful too. There's a reason it's so much cheaper than everywhere else.

Perfect as usual! My delivery was so early, which was great. The food is so comforting and really tasty. Everything is hot and well cooked, with so much flavour. This is my favourite place to order from. I could honestly eat here all the time. Absolutely gorgeous food. 10/10.

We always order with Cafe Bengal and the food is always incredible. Unfortunately today we both had tandoori mixed grill and the meat was very dry which was disappointing but wonderful service as always.

Normally love this restaurant and I’m a regular but tonight it was very late , food was not to its normal standard and tasted different and not like it normally does. Did not enjoy it at all sorry to say. Very disappointed

Food was cold and disgusting and not what I ordered

Always order from here and usually faultless but this time we had items missing from our order and the quality of the meat wasn’t the usual standard. Food arrived early which was a bonus.

I had to call the restaurant for them to say I can’t find it, it then turned up with in 5 minutes of me calling and it was freezing cold this was 1 hour late and 2 hours in total.

Greatest Indian food we had in a while. Restaurant personnel are helpful as well . We clicked collection on a previous order by mistake, we called them and they kindly offered to deliver instead . Tasteful , delivered hot and in time. Greatly recommended

I had an absolutely lovely takeaway curry at Bengal.. it was so tasty , well spiced. My first visit to Bengal and I will definitely be going again . Great curry 😊

Called the restaurant because JustEat app said “Delivered” … it wasn’t. Guy couldn’t understand me, I articulate reasonably well. Arrived late. Food quality was OK, no more. Personally won’t be returning, but try it, you may well disagree. Just my experience.

Food ordered at 19:00 and turned up at 21:00. Tikka masala had split in the bag and spilt over all the food. Mango chutney too. Food had to go in the bin.

Delicious curry and sides, arrived in good time and great value for money. Will definitely use them again.

Item of food wasn't in order when collected and have to go back again to retrieve it and show my order list as they didn't read that 2 of the same item was ordered and when home the bag had mess in it from leaked curry sauce

About time I reviewed this place, as after using them sporadically for the last few years, I gotta say, it’s probably the best curry house in Essex. The food is always top notch, as is the service, packaging and delivery. Keep up the cracking work, guys!

Food arrived late, dumped on the doorstep (driver was almost half way down the street when we answered the door) and poor quality - aubergine unlovingly dumped in huge chunks in a thin sauce. Complained but no response or apology. We won’t be ordering again.

This Indian is normally brilliant. Last time I ordered the food was COLD. Really was disappointed.

Usually the food is piping hot and fresh. Came luke warm, nanns where cold, the mint sauce was frozen. Not to their usual standard at all

There are restaurants locally that look fancier and charge more but we always come back here as the food is unpretentious and really good. I had the - I will spell this all wrong! - MurghI Massala? - basically chicken, minced meat and egg in a fab sauce. Top notch. Good onion Bhajiis and tarka daal. Stuffed and had to take the rest home. Give it a go. Well worth a trip.

TERRIBLE. every dish was oily and all had the Same flavour. It took 1 hour 45 mins and turned up not even hot and tasted terrible. Dansak was a Trey of oil and so were my onion Bhajis. The mushrooms looked like they weren't even cooked and the rice was just pure oil. my order was 25 pound and chucked all in the bin.

Absolutely disgusting service. Driver arrived at the door and told us to NEVER order from the restaurant again because they can’t be bothered to drive to it. We order from here more than anywhere else and usually it is good quality. Never again thanks to rude staff and rude drivers. Absolutely disgusting. Your drivers literally get paid to drive to addresses, and can’t be bothered to do it. Never again from you lot.

cold, greasy. i asked for a couple of things that were totally ignored

Keema had such a small amount of meat one tear took all of the meat so didn’t even cover inside of the bread. The onion bhajis weren’t cooked and were dough inside and just fell apart in a floury dough soggy crumble.

Ordered here for first time and it was fantastic. Had the madras, vegetable korma, saag aloo and saag paneer. Everyone loved it all. Will defo be ordering from here regularly in future

New favourite Indian!! My brother has just moved in above Cafe Bengal and it was recommended by the previous tenants, it does not disappoint and is definitely our new ‘go to’ takeaway!!

The restaurant was quiet when we arrived, but we couldn’t understand why - the food here is superb, and easily better than anything on Brick Lane or central London. All of the dishes had a great depth of flavour, and the staff were friendly, polite and accommodating to our requests. We will certainly be back.

Once again another lovely Curry from cafe Bengal it really is one of the best around we don’t and won’t use anyone else. The shimi chicken is lovely aswell

We have used this Indian restaurant for takeaway deliveries and they never let us down. Lovely foot d, we especially like the chicken tikka biryani,great portions and timely delivery. Highly recommend.

We ordered it for 7:30 and it arrived at 6:15. Not acceptable. We always use you and love your food. But if this happens again we will use someone else. By the time we could eat it the food was no longer quality and ready at a good standard.

Poor food quality. We didn't eat half of what we ordered. Disappointing.

Everything was cold, unfortunately one of the chicken dishes had a taste of fish to it. Had to Chuck away the majority of the meal. Have ordered from here before and was fairly decent. However less than impressed this time and won’t be ordering again.

Ordered our food over an 2 and half hours ago and still nothing we called and said it was going to be 15 minutes ago this was an hour ago. Now refusing to answer the phone! Avoid at all costs

Food was very nice, however I went to order again and noticed that. I paid £2.50 for delivery 50p service charge and 50p for use of PayPal. Will not use restaurant again. £3.50 surcharge.....not worth it.

Ordered 8.20pm delivered at 9.40pm, 15 mins later than delivery time. A bit cold by the time it got delivered. Food was still nice. Defo had alot better from yous
