Primo Piatto in Epping Forest

Absolutely abysmal! Booked for a Mother's day surprise, didn't get our starters for an hour then had to wait another hour for the main courses and when they did come out they had forgot 2 of the mains both the mothers food! Once it finally did come another 20 minutes later they were both stone cold! Will definitely not be back

Awful place. Booked for 8.30. Took 10 minutes to even acknowledge we were there. 8.45 we sat down and didn’t get starters for over an hour. Then had to wait another hour for our mains. No one came and explained why there was such a wait. When it came my friends chicken was still raw in the middle. Waiter tried to fob her off by saying it was a thick bit of chicken. lol. Basically we won’t be coming again!!!!! Disappointing

Visited yesterday for lunch. Lovely buzzy restaurant and nice decor. Friendly staff. Good food. Great place for Italian food with family or friends. Will definitely visit again.

Went last night, first time there, but won’t be the last. Lovely restaurant done out lovely with a great ambiance. Lovely welcome, great staff. Nice not to be rushed with a 2 hour slot. The evening was relaxed. Good menu choice and the food was lovely. Service great. We had a birthday cake and no cakeage charge. We will be back

Met with friends for a post Xmas get together in this warm and welcoming restaurant. Had been to the restaurant previously for a family function which was excellent so it was a no brainer to have lunch here. Really fantastic, with friendly and attentive service. The food (especially the pasta) was terrific and all guests enjoyed their meals tremendously. We will definitely return and would heartily recommend .

We're super fussy... but we finally tried this restaurant after driving past it about 100 times over the past year or so. All I can say is WOW - the interior is so beautiful, the flowers hanging from the ceiling, the cute little wrap around bar which makes you feel like you're on holiday and all the smartly dress staff, we were really impressed. The waiters were SO friendly and very professional, the perfect amount of attentive without being overbearing. The menu was great, lots to choose from. The music was very ambient and perfect for the setting. My parter had pizza and I had risotto, both delicious! We had Tiramisu for afters which is made the traditional way! We only know this as we've just returned from Rome and found out the proper way to make it is in a glass/bowl and it should be really creamy and wet, not thick cream like us stupid Brits make it. The bill was around £35 per person and that includes 2 fab cocktails and a beer too. It's absolutely delicious and I can't wait to come back again!

Stopped in on our way home from a long day out. Decor was quite nice. Menu was ok both husband and I chose the pollo Milanese with a side of zucchini fries to share. Pasta was ok sauce tasted like it came from a packet, chicken again was ok. Had worse but had a lot better, zucchini were again ok. Would I rush back. No I wouldn’t. Shame as could be so much better.

We came off the M25 on our way to meet family in Epping. We saw the Primo Piatto and thought that this is a pleasant spot for luncheon, rather than walking up and down Epping High Street looking for a place. Primo Piatti looks like a former pub converted. It has a decent-sized car park and has a pleasant interior spacious. The staff were friendly. The menu is overall rather limited and very limited in vegetarian/vegan options, despite being assured over the phone that there were plenty of vegetarian options. I would have expected beef dishes, but the only really affordable meat was chicken. The menus were tatty and dog eared. I opted for Pollo Milanese which came on a bed of spaghetti in tomato sauce and a few leaves of lettuce and a basil leaf, masquerading as a salad. The sauce was bland with no basil taste. On the menu it clearly states that main courses are served with potatoes and vegetables of the day – where did they go? The crust on the Pollo Milanese was tasteless and the slice of lemon was too small to render any lemony taste. I would have preferred less pasta and more salad. My wife had gnocchi – again a pile of gnocchi in a large bowl, but no garnishing/vegetables. Pricewise, expensive for what we got, particularly the gnocchi. For dessert we had a tiramisu, which came in a wine glass with a lot of cream/mousse. Tasty, but expensive for what you get. Will not be returning.
