Wildwood in Epping Forest

Lovely friendly and welcoming absolutely love this place the staff are amazing and go above and beyond! The food is exceptional, and being dairy intolerant the kitchen makes adjustments to my orders without any fuss. Lovely people great place can’t fault it.

Tasty food but small portions, don’t eat here if you have a big appetite. Philly cheese steak was written as if it was large but was tiny.

After a long day, my Husband and I fancied stopping off for dinner . We found this lovely resteraunt that is bright , clean , friendly staff and of course amazing food. The menu was vast and at good prices. Deffinetally will return

Waited over an hour. Food arrived cold with part of the order missing

twice I've visited here, can't fault the service one bit, staff are friendly, polite, as you'd expect, the food however both occasions not great, gave the first visit the benefit of the doubt as it was fathers day and it was rammed but this time it was quiet, burger and chips ordered were luke warm, food was bland, I dunno, wildwoods was decent back in the day but now days it's just a slightly more expensive harvester in all honesty

My wife , myself and son and gran daughter, turned up at your restaurant at about 6.0 pm on Sunday the 15th Sept 2024. We were taken to our table seated and given a menu. We sat and waited, the staff new we were waiting my son caught the waiters attention and thought he would be coming over to serve us. But no, we still sat there with no acknowledgement from any staff member. It was not even that busy. Again a member of staff looked over but did not attend our table. So after 15 minutes we decided to leave, we got up and went to another restaurant. Nobody came and spoke to us, to find out why we were leaving. The sad thing is we have used this restaurant on numerous occasions, with no complaints. But after lasts night fiasco we wont be going back.

Good variety. Comfy seating. Decent portion sizes. Friendly service.

The delivery guy never turned up at the restaurant and put the order as “delivered”. I called the restaurant and they said Just Eat wouldn’t send another driver. I drove over to pick my pizzas and chips which, of course, were cold. I know the restaurant and the quality is always great so this was very disappointing though it was entirely Just Eat’s fault

Food was great, family of four on a Saturday evening (quite early) but place was very quiet. Toilets were dirty but staff were good and attentive.

Absolutely amazed and stunned at the size of pizzas. We were walking past saw the deal of Pizza , Side, Drink, all for £10. What an amazing deal . This is fine for us for lunch. We also ordered a large glass of chardonnay. I am giving this 10 stars purely on the size of pizzas and taste . Amazing. Will definitely return this was our first visit ever . How have we not been here before!!!. I'm telling all my family and friends. Thank you.

Went there today for my sons birthday as he wanted calzone pizza. Both he and my husband was very happy with their calzone. All the food was lovely and so was the staff.

Yet another establishment that just blatantly ads an (optional) service charge onto the bill. This trend has got to stop. Tipping is optional and up to the customer. Food is ok, but the situation described above turns the whole experience sour.

My hotel restaurant kitchen having shut down early, my relatives and I went hunting for a place to eat and opted to visit this establishment. The menu is quite varied, offering variations on traditional Italian food, some of the dishes having a 'fusion' aspect. The young lady who served us was friendly and was able to provide insights on the various available drinks (nice selection) and dishes. We had different tastes and ended up with very different choices... I felt that my minute steak was a bit overdone, but the other enjoyed the choices they had made. We did not have desert.

I came here with my friend for valentines day. It was very busy. The food was ok I had a margarita pizza and my friend had a burger and potatoes and chocolate brownie for dessert. But I didn't like that gave me a steak knife so had to ask for a normal knife to cut the pizza with. Also gave soup spoons instead of dessert spoons. Also the table was wobbly and there was no salt so had to take it off another table. It took a while to get the bill and to pay for it too.

Really not at all bad for Epping restaurants, and they really do try with the service. Generally, a very decent place for a pizza or burger.

Went here after a long walk in Epping. Service seemed slow despite it being very quiet inside. Then a table that came in about 10 minutes after us got served before us. Either the waiting staff are poorly trained or they didn’t like us in our walking gear. Fair enough. We took our money over the road to the Pizza Express and had a nice meal there instead!

We were initially a little dubious about eating here since our only previous Wildwood experience was at their Ely branch and it was awful. However, the Epping restaurant was in a different class. Nice & modern decor, a warm greeting and excellent friendly service [although it was very quiet so I don't know if service is as good when they are busy]. The only disappointment was the calamari starter which was horribly over cooked and therefore rubbery. Apart from that the mushroom arancini starter and main course sea bass and the pizza piccante were thoroughly enjoyable. Definitely a place to go back to.

New years day meal, busy but only had 2 servers (being said very nice just slammed) for large tables and was very busy, not at there best for this visit, I will try again soon to update yo see if the holiday was the problem or the restaurant.

Made the mistake of not specifying I wanted a pizza so Specify weather you want a pizza or a sandwich 🥲🥲 still tasted good though

Booked Wildwood Epping restaurant for New Year’s Eve and I’m totally disgusted with the experience after waiting far to long to be seated I was lead through the main lively restaurant and taken to a back function room that smelled it was old and shabby like an unkept community church hall with kids running around and climbing over chairs, I informed the manager that this was not acceptable, we booked expecting to be in the main restaurant not some dirty back room so we left! I was utterly appalled! We had driven a long way for this reservation, Wildwood Epping you ruined my New Year’s Eve!!!!

Had an excellent light lunch here. Particularly recommend their tiramisu but the food we had was very good too.

Carbonara completely tasteless, absolutely no seasoning. Pizza under cooked and doughy. And had to wait nearly 20 minutes over what I was told when ordering for collection. And I paid over £30 for this privilege!

Fantastic pizzas but the newly introduced SERVICE CHARGE is very off putting you should be able to leave a tip at your own discretion. Service charges should not be applied in these times as inflation is very high and if you want people to come to the restaurant, a service charge is too much on top It is embarrassing for somebody to ask for it to be removed from the bill. It has put me off coming into places that have a service charge on top of a bill.

Amazing place to go with friends, family or even for a celebration. The service is unbeatable. The place is very nice and everything is very clean and the food is AMAZING.

Haven't been here in quite some time, was sorely disappointed. The service was very poor at best, ordering drinks took best part of 15 mins to arrive. The starters were delicious when they arrived, main dishes were bit of a let down .... wanting to pay for the meals was a disaster, bill brought I asked for the card machine... which never appeared, had to track down another member of staff " eventually" wish I didnt have to write this as previous experiences here have been amazing.

Popped in here for some food. What a huge regret that was. Food had clearly been microwaved and frozen. I ate 2 prawns and couldn’t eat anymore. Have since had terrible food poisoning the last few days constantly being sick. Everybody avoid avoid avoid at all costs! How is this place running

We ordered pizza and pasta dishes, all very nice and tasty. Service was a but slow. But on previous visits, service was on point.

Hello Team, I visited Epping Wildwood on the September 2nd. The cuisine was delightful, and our brown-haired waitress provided excellent service. However, my experience was marred by the behaviour of the blonde female manager, who repeatedly addressed the waitress disrespectfully in front of customers. She used phrases like 'What is your problem' and 'What are you doing,' which belittled the waitress and created an uncomfortable atmosphere for us. If this is how they treat their staff, I wouldn't recommend this workplace to a friend or my own daughter. It's worth noting that the restaurant was not even a quarter full, and I can only imagine how she interacts with staff during busier times. On a positive note, I did speak with another male manager who was understanding and promised to address the issue.

Saturday 2nd September 15:23 Bully manager!! My friend and I came to this restaurant over the weekend and were horrified by the way the woman manager treated her waitressing staff. Shouting at her “what is wrong with you” whilst she was behind the bar doing nothing. This created an uncomfortable atmosphere .But also made us feel so sorry for the waitress as she was trying her best providing great service. I did mention this to the other manager who said he will take this matter further but wanted to make sure a review was raised. I would avoid coming into this restaurant. I would like to escalate this matter further.

This was my first time at this restaurant, me ,my friend and my 10 yr old daughter. Great kids menu, my daughter really enjoyed the food, big portions for £7.50. Other mains are around £12 to 16 pounds. Quality of the food is excellent. Service was fast and friendly staff. Beautiful restaurant would definitely go back. There was a lovely young waitress there and her name was larissa, very polite .

A reasonably priced cozy restaurant in Epping. Good for families and dates

Food excellent, service very good. Music was too loud, otherwise an enjoyable evening. I don't like the sharp steak knives being on the table with young children. Not very hygienic to have knife and folk on every setting.

Great meal at wildwood in Epping last night. I went for the barbecue spare ribs that were plentiful, lovely and meaty, taste was different class! The salad and fries served with meal along side the barbecued corn on the cob was excellent. All our family members had a great meal too! They enjoyed the chicken salad, pastas and buttermilk chicken burger. Also, it was kids for a £1 so my son enjoyed his lovely pizza and ice cream. I haven’t been for a years, I will be going back as the food and service was very good. Recommend

We had a really lovely meal here. Went on a Thursday evening, it wasn’t overly busy but enough people to have a bit of atmosphere. Really liked the stylish decor too! The food arrived promptly and they were very generous portions - and delicious! Staff were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our visit.

The most elegant place in the area.

Overall, very nice. I had the mozzarella and onion garlic bread, linguine vongole and tiramisu. The garlic bread was delicious, however, the linguine was lacking any flavour, which was very disappointing, could have done with much more garlic and sauce, as others around me had much more sauce. Therefore, I ended up using the chilli oil to give it some flavour. The tiramisu was the saving grace and was absolutely delicious.

Food had no taste Service very bad and ot wasn't even busy. Ask for desert menu did not get when I ask for bill got straight away.

My dad and I enjoyed a quick bite at Wildwood today. We were served by Anna who was very polite and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good - exactly what you want. I always enjoy coming here every time I visit Epping.

Ordered food, food received was cold and missing items the business failed to provide menu to the description and then failed to answer the phone for an hour to deal with the problem! Have now had to order from another reputable business an absolute joke! If you can’t commit to delivery services then don’t do it!

Terrible restaurant terrible service just simply terrible!

At home date night ruined by terrible delivery service, terrible food (what arrived of it) cold food missing food items no help from the business and no help from Deliveroo what a joke!

Maddie and karolina served us tonight and were super lovely and kind and very attentive. The food was beautiful! And it was soooo good. A very good experience overall ! X

Been here a few times. Foods OK. The staff are great. Madeliene was fabulous. But, oh boy, the noise!! Guys, you need to do something about your accoustics. I realise that coming to a family-friendly place at 5pm on a Saturday is asking for trouble. But you're going to have to start selling Neurofen at this rate. Some noise dampening panels on the ceiling can make a huge difference. I've seen them work wonders in other places, really improving the atmosphere.

As a visitor to Epping on a Saturday when the place was very quite we had booked a table for 4 having seen the lunchtime board. We arrived and was shown to our table and then left for 15 minutes before anyone came and spoke to us. We requested the lunchtime menu as advertised outside to be told that it's not available when it was clearly advertised outside and no where did it say Mon to Friday until you get the menu inside. Hence we walked out. False advertising.

Really friendly staff, fantastic service, amazing food and the prices aren't bad either! Decent veggie options too, which is always helpful when you have a bunch of vegetarian friends!

A return visit after good past experiences but this time not so. Starter - Garlic bread was very dry - like eating a Jacob's cream cracker - needed a jug of water to get through it. Main - very average burger - nowhere near worth £14 - Partner had Rib eye which was so seasoned it could have been anything. Desert - was nice - so a slight reprieve However to have a 10% service charged added as standard is cheeky - never had this before and its down to you to have it removed, How many even notice. Happy to pay if service was worth it. I had it removed ! Wont be going back, bring back Prezzo !!

Just been into WW and as usual, the staff greeted us beautifully. Our daughter is autistic and the staff are amazing with her. They always take such good care of her and deal with her every need however big or small. The food was good also, but without the team, our experience would not be as nice. They are kind and thoughtful. It is rare to find such a group of people in one place. Laurie, Marco and the team are beautiful people and a credit to their company and the world we live in xxx

Had a lovely meal tonight at Wildwood with the family. Food was great but just as important the service was exceptional. We were served by Madeline who was warm and friendly throughout and she greatly enhanced our experience. Excellent customer service and we look forward to visiting again.

We had a large group of people for a lunch sitting which I had prebooked. Waited longer than expected for a drinks order to be taken, drinks order was correct, sides came out, garlic bread was more like crisp bread with minimal garlic on there, mains took time to come but were good apart from 2x vegan lasagna where the pasta was black burnt. The chef should never have allowed that to leave the kitchen let alone the waitress deliver it to the customer. Now the waitress…. Lacked any customer service skills and no personal touch what so ever. Menus were kept on the table after taking our food order. Reading other positive reviews it might have been a bad day at the office but restaurant was not full. At over £250 for the group I would normally have left a tip for dealing with a large group but I didn’t. Would now consider other places in High Street to eat for the group next month

Gigantic slim crust pizza's great. Calm and but very sociable atmosphere. There is space to talk and feel that your table is more private. Yet the atmosphere is not too noisy.
