Lovely Italian restaurant. Had the lamb Ragu which lovely!

We had a meal here last Saturday. Food was lovely and generous portions, unfortunately the tables being so close together let it down. When going out for a meal I don’t want to be sat so close to other diners. There was literally an inch between tables! Very chaotic, music being turned up and down all evening, groups of people hanging around waiting to collect takeaway orders. It’s a shame because the food was lovely, but definitely won’t be returning due to being crammed in.

I had a prawn cocktail which I think was the worst prawn cocktail I’ve ever tasted. I left some of it. That’s how bad it was and I also had the special scallop and gratin which was very watery. The scallop had no row on it. it was cut small, I left most of that

The food was average. Steak was overcooked. The penne pasta too spicy and the bread a little tasteless. The staff were so friendly and atmosphere good.

A very good place near Romford to go and have some good Italian food. They were very courteous as we walked in and didn't have reservations. Despite that they gave us a table and adjusted. We ordered Margherita and Theydon Bois Pizza with pasta. We ended our meal with a perfect tasting Crème Brûlée. It was amazing food with a great ambiance to eat in. The place is cozy, and has a Victorian look. Food is 9/10 if you don't feel 10/10. The paintings on the walls have a story to say. Worth going on a weekend or a public holiday with family. Do go before time as parking around the reservation is an issue due to limited place available. I totally recommend this place!

Second time there for a family meal and again we had excellent service. The atmosphere is good with interesting background music which is just loud enough to guess the tune! Food was very good and you get a lot, so having learnt from the previous time I did not have a starter! I would recommend this place for any dining numbers and birthday celebrations are welcome.

Authentic Italian restaurant with huge plates of food.

Wow, a true hidden gem. Authentic, fresh and delicious Sardinian cuisine in huge portions, superb service, and gorgeous decor which will have you feeling like you're on holiday. You certainly won't leave hungry.

Bin here many time . Still has the same spark. Good food. With excellent staff. I starter mussels with lemon. Nice . But I do prefer them with white wine sauce. Calves liver with sage was very tasty. Also had a pasta dish with large prawns. Washed down with a good white wine. Ordered Affogato which is not on the menu. But a must. Cold coffee with ice cream. Prices are reasonable for the area .

What a lovely Italian restaurant, with so many traditions dishes Ingrid from Sardinia. Had pizza and pasta in 2 different occasions, both absolutely worth it. Service is pretty relaxed, not rush as it would be in central London. The place is unique and the staff very friendly. Extremely appreciated the "amari" brought with the bill. I will see you soon!

Siamo capitati da queste parti alla fine del nostro tour in camper in Scozia. Abbiamo mangiato benissimo e il personale è sempre stato gentilissimo. Cibo veramente di qualità, un vero ristorante italiano, ottimo sotto ogni punto di vista.

First time here last night Buzzing atmosphere and food was superb. Portions are large, service was friendly and great value. Will be back without a doubt

The restaurant is cute, with candles in wine bottles etc and the service good. The music playing on a Saturday evening was awful, either play traditional Italian or proper English house.....not Italian houseish. The food lacked the deep rich Italian flavours we expected and the side veg overcooked. It's a shame as it's close to where we live and would have gone again if the food was tasty.

I'm going to have words with my neighbour, because he's a regular here and never told me about it! Friendly service, good food and the portions are incredible. Definitely going to be returning many times because everything or party of 5 had was great, and I've got to know what everything else is like.

Gorgeous Italian food in Theydon. Table bread was hot and fresh, portions are huge, the aubergine parm was easily thr size of a main dish. My fish grill was generous, the lobster ravioli looked amazing. Varied wine list. Highly recommend.

I wa taken here as part of my 70th birthday celebrations. Thera was a great atmosphere as another table was also celebrating a birthday. The food was hot and delicious and the service was excellent.

Simply a real authentic Italian with a Sardinian twist . Great freshly cooked food, huge portions and very fairly priced .Plenty of space around you . Cooked and served by real Italians who care about their food and their restaurant. Be aware during busy times the food may be a little slower to come out, so if you are in a rush tell them, they will accommodate you.

We have only recently started coming here, but already feel like it's our second home:) We have tried several main dishes and can't find a fault with anything we have tried. This place is a true genuine Italian with every dish screaming authenticity. The clams with sea bass are a must try as well as the pizzas 🍕 You will need to book in advance on weekends, infact you might need to book for any day of the week, we have been a couple of times on a Tuesday and they only just squeezed us in..... on a Tuesday:) Go try this place!

We had never been before and we were very impressed. It was early Sunday evening and the place was packed. Our food was superb, mega big portions! The service was second to none and our waiter Pero was awesome. Great place would highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

Our first visit. Sitting in this restaurant you genuinely could be forgiven for thinking you are on holiday in Italy. We have experienced italian restaurants in Sorento, Lake Garda and Rome. We love our nights out in restaurants and this one is unbelievable. The service, the wines, the food and without doubt the deserts. If you have not tried this beautiful Authentic Italian restaurant, you are missing out on a true gem. Thank you all at Il Bacio.

My husband and I have visited this restaurant many times, it used to be our favourite restaurant as we have so many fond memories there! However, this time was extremely disappointing! We booked a table for 8pm on Saturday 15th July, arrived on time.. we were seated after 10 minutes and was sat at the table for 40 minutes without being spoken to or served! We were also stuck so tightly between two tables, I had one mans head in my shoulder and could hear word for word what the couple next to us were discussing. We ended up walking out as we were starving hungry and it was now 8.50pm (we'd been in the restaurant for 50 minutes without one person even attempting to serve us) without being asked if we wanted a drink! We told the staff we were leaving and one of the waiters simply picked my handbag up and gave it to me almost as if to say p*ss o** ! Disgusting service in my opinion. Left really disappointed and upset as it was our anniversary and it was too late to go anywhere else. Such a shame. Il Bacio – you need less tables and a better attitude towards your customers. Really disappointing.

This is the worst Italian food I have eaten Inflated prices and small portions To call themselves Italian and serve overpriced rubbish like this is a joke. The margarita pizza is simply a melted cheese glob of tasteless tat Even basic pizza in any supermarket is far better As for the so called “fresh every day day sir” calf’s liver Its not fresh if its sour , and anyone knows you don’t overcook till dry calf’s liver! How come your chef doesn’t seem to know this Maybe that’s why it’s drowned in a bitter onion gravy

Without doubt the best Restaurant for miles. Friendly staff, food is phenomenal, which is why it's packed every night, and price is inline for what you need to pay for a good meal. I might be slightly biaisad as its my favourite Restaurant but only cos of the above.

Went out with friends to celebrate my birthday. I could not believe how busy and vibrant the restaurant was on a Thursday evening. I had beef carpaccio to start with. If anything, it had too much cheese but delicious. That was followed by veal milanese with spaghetti pomadora. I was too full for desert but was given a scoop of ice cream as a surprise. Staff were friendly

Omg, this place is beautiful, the staff is fantastic, the prices are incredibly low and I wanted to tip on top of the service charge and was told that "don't worry, it's enough". Shocking!😂 I felt welcomed, they made drinks off menu and I will for sure come back to enjoy another beautiful meal and the atmosphere

Bit of a disappointment really. It was chokka so was expecting good things but the food quality is really no better than average. Not bad or anything but if you like good quality it's not for you. The crowd are a lot younger so that's why this place might get away with it but there are far better Italians around. Also the decor is a bit overkill. Tries a bit hard there. Been going to Italy for decades and never seen anything like this. The painted flowers all around the walls need to go. Lastly, funny name for a restaurant but no judging on this...."The Kiss"

It's like stepping through a portal into Italy, a bit manic, loud atmosphere but unmistakably Italian, the food and drinks were really we nice, we both had meals from the specials board and they were delicious, we were absolutely stuffed, you won't leave here hungry. Service was quick and attentive without being overbearing. We will back.

Always an enjoyable meal. The food is always fresh with good portions. The waiters have a personality which makes a change from most restaurants! Definitely worth a visit if in the area, probably the best Italian in this part of Essex.

Superb range, quality and portions of food. Between us, we had seafood, pizza and pasta. Everything was piping hot, looked amazing and tasted heavenly. Reasonably priced for such exceptional food. Great service and friendly staff.

The service here was very friendly - we received a warm welcome. There was a great range of choices on the menu and specials board. We enjoyed some delicious seafood, pasta and meat dishes, and the wine was good too. We live locally so we will definitely be back!

Visited with friends, we were crammed in like sardines. Restaurant was very hot and there was condensation on the windows. All music was loud and we couldn’t hear ourselves speak. I asked for a portion of spinach with my meal and they must’ve taken it from the frozen bag and heated it in the microwave it was tasteless.

I went with my wife and my son and found a very cosy place, with lovely staff and delicious food. The starters were great, my son loved them, and the mains evem better. It’s great to have an italian restaurant like this in tbe village.

We had dinner here on Saturday Nov. 12th. Great as usual. Good food, price and service just about to book it for my wife's birthday this month.

Paid £74 for two people for salami that tasted like it was from tesco. Steak which was straight out of the freezer on to the grill. Really not worth it. Save your money

Love the decor with murals etc and a lovely atmosphere. Starters are very large but lacked in seasoning. Prawn cocktail in particular had around half a jar of sauce on it and was virtually inedible because of this. We asked for salt for the mains but didn’t need it as they were very highly salted and again far too much sauce. Not the Italian way.

I eat here a lot. It’s a typical “real” Italian restaurant. Which is hard to find now. All the food is fresh , portion size very very generous. THE best bolognaise sauce ever. Always fresh fish available. They will adapt any dish to suit your needs , even bolognaise with fish if that’s what you like. ! They are sometimes a little direct but don’t confuse it with rudeness, it’s “Italian “ . They are very happy to welcome you and are perhaps a little shy, so relax and have great food cooked with the offer of superb Sicilian and Sardinian red wine. Great value for money.

We had to eat here after a short holiday when we came home. Visited on 12th August '22. Fantastic meal and service again. This is the best restaurant in the district!!!!
