Very poor service two old waiters who hardly communicated, one was huffing and puffing. For £8.50 the roasted vegetables starter was very poor and full of salt. Such a shame as this could be a lovely venue. Very over priced for what it is nothing special there are better Italian restaurants around

Best restaurant in Epping hands down.

Very poor service we booked for a table of 8. Had been to this restaurant previously however it's changed hands. We waited an hour for our starters. Mains came up cold. Spoke to the staff and they did not care they just started to argue with us. Other tables were experiencing the same issues. Will never go back here again. Poor food, poor service, waste of money, avoid plenty of other restaurants in the high street

Great Italian food all amazing and great service

Great Italian, we had a good night out good food and great pizzas. We celebrated our sons birthday and they looked after us very well. Will be back !

Unfortunately we will not be going back to this restaurant, we went here with friends and I have never felt so rushed in my life. The food was okay, but very oily and when the waiter asked if we wanted dessert, when we said no, within 30 seconds the bill was on our table and standing over us with the card machine. We hadn't even had time to check the bill. Plenty of better restaurants in the area.

Very loud and noisy. Food was ok but not worth the price they charge. I've never had a spicy sea food risotto before which I won't have again. But I waited so long to get my food I ate it. We was looking forward to a traditional Italian dessert but they sold all of the cannoli's to one person to take home. I won't go back again.

Nestling in a quiet square just off Epping High Street is Quore Matto. From the public car park, it's just a short walk to this delightful eatery. Three of us visited this restaurant on a Wednesday night, and we weren't disappointed. We were greeted and the chat and banter began right away. The decor remains unchanged: dark-tiled flooring and light-coloured walls with suspended lighting in the shape of a heart. Unique artefacts and mucial instruments adorn the walls. We were shown to our table of choice. Armed with a couple of Aperol Spritz and to the accompaniment of lovely background music, we made our selection from quite a wide-ranging menu of pizzas, pasta dishes, fish, meats, and seafood and, with the specials' section included, this cuisine variety should suit most palates. For our starters there was Prosciutto e Melone, mussels in a tomato-garlic sauce, and avocado and prawns: all were simply delicious, fresh, and full of flavour. Our mains comprised of a massive pizza with extra pepperoni and salad, Saltimbocca, and Spaghetti Scoglione: again, it was wonderfully prepared and presented, with flavours that exploded on the palate. This fantastic culinary excellence was baptised with a Primitivo: a full-bodied Italian red with a hint of sweetness, and it complemented our meal perfectly. We then found room for desserts: Apple tart with a drizzle of Amaretto, creme brulee, and profiteroles. We concluded this gastronomic debauchery with lemon tea, cappuccino, black Americano, and Sambucas. Plus, complimentary Limoncelli by our gracious host - grazie mille. This was our third visit to this sublime restaurant, and it just seems to get better with each visit. Our compliments to the chefs and a big 'thank you' to all at Quore Matto for a truly uplifting dining experience in cuisine perfection, service, and friendliness. Great food and staff very helpful

On arriving was told once seated that there were no pizzas or garlic bread due to having no staff able to operate the oven which if we had been told when we booked could have chosen to go somewhere else as it meant that some of us had to order a different meal The portions of pasta were very small and there were only 3 small meatballs with one of the pasta dishes. The seafood risotto had only one prawn in it and 3 out of the five mussels could not be opened which means that they were not cooked properly. None of the waiters checked to see if everything was ok with our food and we had to wait 20 minutes between the first courses and the mains even though it wasn’t busy in there They also wanted us to pay a £10 service charge with the bill stating that there were 6 people but one of them was only 7 years old so shouldn’t have been included as an adult When we refused to pay the service charge the waiter was very rude and did not even apologise for the poor standard of food and service! I would never go back to this restaurant again or recommend to others as there was not one thing any of us liked about it!

I come here regularly with my girlfriend and have never tasted a better lasagna anywhere. Ive been many citys in italy and many Italian restaurants and will now never order a lasagna anywhere but from here. Also the salmon tagliatelle is amazing and has almost tempted me to sway from the lasagna.

Had a lovely lunch with my family at Quore Matto. We were a table of 11 and the staff were excellent as was our food. It never disappoints and we will definitely be back again soon

Having had good meals and service in the past, after my experience with 3 other friends last night, I doubt I'll be back. The tables are packed in so tightly that if you happen to have the misfortune to be sitting next to a table of people who want the whole restaurant to hear their conversation, it makes for a very unpleasant experience. The service was appalling. Ice put in drinks when we specifically asked for it not to be, and had to ask twice for tap water. However, the worst thing was the length of time we had to wait between finishing our starters and the main course arriving (about 45 minutes). I asked when they were coming 3 times, being told in a couple of minutes. I said I expected something off the bill. Not only did we not get this, when asked if everything had been ok, the head waiter seemed surprised when I said no! He talked over me with excuses while I was trying to say what we were unhappy with. No word of apology at any time and he then had the gall to say they hadn't added a service charge, when it says quite clearly on the menu that a service charge is added to parties of 6 or more.

The best pizza I've had in a long time...brilliant local independent restaurant. Deserves our custom as its excellent

Very nice and authentic Italian.

My first time at Quore Matto and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was very good. I think they have some new staff because they kept asking us the same thing several times but attentiveness is preferential to be ignored so can forgive this.

Popped in with my daughter for a bite to eat, and ended up having three courses of the most delicious authentic Italian food, we were so impressed. The staff are knowledgeable and so friendly, felt like home. Got really lucky with the specials, the pumpkin tiramisu was divine. Compliments to all involved in this wonderful restaurant. First visit for me, food was amazing, good service, nice staff, good buzzy atmosphere, well recommended

Was in tesco super store, and one of the shefs, decided to pick a fight with me, because I reported their restaurant for being unhygienic and having rats and cockroaches in the establishment, so take a wide birth from this place. So moral of story, If they get reported to health and safety, you might have a fight in tescos store.

(see below for updates). (2019) Average service, ok prices, the staff vary from really nice, to looking like they'd rather not be there. Edit (2022): since my first review we've been back a number of times. Staff still the same as above, but food definitely better than when we first went. Edit (2023): It amazes me how much this restaurant has aged like a fine wine. Now I have zero complaints, the staff they use now are very friendly and helpful, the food is fantastic, and one of my favourite restaurants in Epping.

A bit zrowded as we were seated at what felt like an additional table in a busy part of the restaurant. However everything else was excellent.

Very good food, and wine. Our new local Italian, we have just moved to epping and found Italy very close to our home. Pasta cooked to perfection portion sizes perfectly filling combined with a very balanced atmosphere. Best to book to not be disappointed. Recommended

Good food but terrible service and piss poor attitude, particularly the manager. Waited over an hour and a half for food with no apology. A discretionary tip is just that. If customers are dissatisfied with the service you should remove from bill and not make them pay. There have lost 7 future customers.

I felt like i Was on holiday, truely authentic, pizza being tossed in the air, that fresh smell of italian bread i Washington drawling until my pizza arrived Washington even better than tre smell i had tre boscaiola with porcini mushrooms other hai these great big t bone steaks which looked very tasty, and my husband hai tre spaghetti scoglio bellissima. Our dinner at Quore matto was absolutely delicious. At first glance, the place looks like asif you are in Sicily busy atmosphere happy faces family’s together absolutely lovely . But the food that comes out and the friendly service are outstanding. We started with a burrata and gamberoni for the table, along with warm, homemade rosemary focaccia. One of us had the osso bucco special and the rest of us had linguine Arogosta. Great wine and yummy house made limoncello. And reasonably priced. Highly recommend!!

My favourite italian, good pizzas, and an amazing selection of authentic Dishes. A very well selected wine list which serves ones pallet very well. They Made my dads birthday extra special. Big thanks to all the staff.

Great restaurant, food and staff brilliant

1 star is to much! Rushed to order food 30 mins for starters which was cold the mains didn't even turn up after 1 hour ordered a child's portion of carbonara and my little one didn't even eat it so salty!! When I asked where our mains were I was told its fathers day what do you expect!! Shocking service wasn't even asked if we want a drink!!

Just popped in on the off chance. Never been there before. Had a great burrata to start. Loads of basil and pesto sauce. Excellent cheese. Then a spaghetti vongole and a tiger prawn pasta which was excellent. Very reasonably priced as well I always think that an Italian restaurant that does a vongole is a better type of restaurant than the average. Definitely the case here.

Staff were friendly, food was very tasty and well presented, and the over all bill was reasonable. We liked that they did not automatically add service charge to the bill for a group of 5.

Went there for a family birthday. Been there a couple of times. Service and attitude of waiters was never great, but thought we would give them another go as we all like Italian food. the more experienced waiter took the order, 6 adults, 3 children. Most of our meals came out wrong, ordered children’s meals, came out adults even for a 3 year old, whose meal came out last even though we asked if hers could come out first to keep her occupied. Spaghetti Bolognaise had to go back because had no meat, with that the 2 youngest ate last. So we all ate at different times, including adults. We knew that all the confusion over our meals the bill would have to be checked. We were overcharged. Other customers reviews are right, younger waiters try, but when you leave you are lucky to get a wave. So much potential for a casual reasonably priced Italian in Epping.

Absolutely fantastic very well known, great food good pizzas and good wine can not forget the desserts best cannolis out of Sicily . They have a nice decor and a very nice atmosphere, it’s gets very busy so best to book.

Average Italian food ! Below average Italian service ! Have dined here before and it was great but this time round the staff were not very nice , unhelpful, moody faces , made us all feel unwelcome ! Running a restaurant is not just about serving people food, it’s about how you make your customers feel, you made us all feel very unwelcome! The restaurant was also uncomfortably hot and even though they had air con they were reluctant to put it on. When we asked , they put it on for 5 mins and then turned it off again! Yet another way to make us all feel Uncomfortable … Not good Quote Matto! Do better !

This place was amazing! My friend and I met in Epping simply because it was convenient but this place is a real gem. The wait staff were really friendly and gave us stories about Italy and the ingredients and the food was amazing. They could charge double and the food would still be worth it

Our experiance was not great. The service was not great to start with after putting our order in for 7 starters we got 4 then 3 of our table had to wait an extra 30 mins for there order. The mains all came out together and all food was very nice. The desserts were great too. We then ordered 2 floater coffee's and ended up with 2 black coffee's. After complaining about this. Some money was knocked off the bill. I WILL GO BACK AGAIN as food was really nice

For anyone who knows Italian kitchen well, this food is an insult. Cooking Italian dish is not a big science, but this food have no taste, the sauce looks like coming from the tin and using the same tomato sauce for the starter and the pasta is only showing the poor ability of the cook. Sorry but as a person who have worked for many years in different Italian restaurants and pizzerias , I am struggling finding positive words for the kitchen- you need a new chef guys. The pizza and the espresso were ok. Unfortunately it was a complete disappointment and I’m not going to come back. And by the way, the pictures on your website have nothing to do with the reality. Noise and appalling service with just one person taking food orders. Would not return.

Slow service & therm server was terrible. We waited 30 minutes for a beer and three tap waters, even though we ordered three lemonades. We ended up getting up and leaving after we waited another 20 minutes for a server to take our food order.

Really great food. Friendly staff. Nice and busy, although that can mean you have to talk a little louder to get heard by the person opposite...but doesn't detract from a great venue serving authentic Sicilian food delivered in good size portions. Staff do not hurry you to eat and go but order your drinks before you run out though as the little guy behind the small bar gets very busy. Very well priced too. Will definitely be returning.
