One star off for atmosphere only because it was super quiet on the night

I went to Windsor branch and loved their food . It was amazing . So, when I come back home I ordered from the Loughton branch and food is awful . Taste is not the same as Windsor branch .

Thoroughly disappointed with my experience with Zizzi (Ordered online so can't comment on service or atmosphere and would be wrong to do so, so review is purely food based) Appreciate paying slightly more as ordered, but both meals ordered were cold on receipt which wasn't the greatest start but not the end of the world. One of the meals (Bolognaise) was really nice and would have been ideal had it not been cold. The lasagne though was not only cold, but genuinely tasted like a cheap microwave meal. The portion size was laughable for £17 - i wasn't expecting a mountain of food but i expected substantially more than what looked like a child's meal. I wholeheartedly believe there is no way i'd have been served what looked like (and wasn't much more than) a tablespoon size portion of lasagne. We've eaten at, and from, this branch before but by some distance this is the most disappointing dining experience i've had at Zizzi

ordered a margarita pizza, was impossible to cut. contemplated whether getting my chainsaw out the van to cut the ‘pizza.’ it was extremely bland, tasteless. i threw it at the wall in frustration and it still didn’t break, unlike my teeth. me my wife and children had to get together and use our strength to ripe it apart. once we ripped it, it was like eating cement. be warned if you cherish your teeth DO NOT COME HERE. me and my wife are still paying the price in our dental surgery’s (VERY EXPENSIVE) because of the poor margarita pizza/similar to cement on your patio. aside from the obvious negative the staff were friendly and welcoming. but didn’t assist with picking the pizza up off the floor 😔. the atmosphere was pleasant and the decor was modern and had a good vibe 👍.

Dimi was a great host, she was really kind and helpful with our 2 year olds needs, great place to have a nice meal and child friendly! Thanks Dimi and team.

Served by the waitress Courtney yesterday evening. Top notch service, went out of her way to make sure that my dietary requirements were met and that we were in a quiet corner with my autistic son. Food was served quickly and tasted great! Really recommend!

The place was pretty empty Monday lunchtime so no atmosphere. Typical fayre from this Italian chain. It was fine. Nothing to write home about. Service good. Food decent.

went for lunch on Saturday 20th July I think we were the only people there. ordered coffee, sparkling water and 2 x Pizza which were so dry it was like eating cardboard. The Bruschetta wasn't even chopped properly. I wont be eating there again.

Good food. Enjoyed the afternoon. Having a small parking lot is a bonus for this place, but very few spaces are available for customers so you have to be lucky with it. They are very careful with allergies.

Not our first time there, but this time not great at all! Walked in to be greeted with a long face! No smile not a welcome from a gentlemen at the desk! Probably already had a long day! We were giving 4 menus although I have a 2 years and a 5 years old with me so naturally you would think we should have been giving 2 normal menus and 2 kids menus! It took ages to deliver the kids menus and as you could imagine kids were not easy during this time! Starter for kids came in quickly but the rest took an hour! Food was ok, but the beef brisket is not something I would recommend.

Didn't get too eat. With lots of empty tables, waited 15mins not one staff member approached us but then again there appeared to be only 1 person. Food on the counter the whole time we stood waiting to be seen. Shrimp kebabs so whoever ordered those beware .... we left. 27.6.2024

our experience was very interesting. had a female waitress walking around looking like she was on some sort of drugs and she kept running out the shop being chased by what seemed to be a manager. when we walked in we noticed she even took a nibble from one of the plates waiting to be served, and then she finally took the plate and dropped a slice of garlic bread on the floor which was there the entire time we was there. young lad sonny was really good and obviously the only one in there with some sort of a brain. ended up not getting our plates cleared from our table and ditched dessert… they even closed early due to the woman waitress.

This is a chain, but the manager & staff at this one are great 👍 Helpful & friendly with quick service. Got a really nice pizza that was a special - moderately spicy with a whole piece of cheese at the centre - check the photo 😁 The better half has some pasta which was also lovely. Washed down with the obligatory large Peroni it was good value overall. It's not huge on atmosphere, but it's big on tasty food 😉

It’s the second time this has happened. I ordered 3 things online and it takes 90 minutes to get the food delivered. No one answers the phone either so you can’t even call them to find out what is happening. Useless service. Don’t order online for zizi

Was not happy we asked when we first got there if we could use our tesco voucher and they said yes but did not tell us that you could not use it if you had the special offer so will not be going back there again

Too much fat with the pork dish and the salmon portion was very small perched on a bucket of rice.

Very nice food with excellent vegetarian options for the starters in particular. Pizza with the vegan meatballs was spectacular. We enjoyed the specials but felt the three small Croquettes weren’t very good value. We went at a quiet time and enjoyed the space as we had a baby with us but the service was quite slow after we had had our food- not so Keen to get us dessert, drinks, bill etc

Used to go for years and loved it. Took my sister for her birthday. Super slow service, took nearly 2 hours for 3 salads and a pizza in an empty restaurant. We could see the food sat on the side for ages before the chef had to come and serve us as the other guy was on the phone. Food was nice but pizza and salmon cold by time it got to us and massively overpriced. Had to get up several times to ask the waiter for things/get the bill. Didn't stay for dessert as just wanted to leave :(

We went for a three course dinner. One of the starters had to be sent back 3 times due to being freezing cold. No exaggeration but a polar bears frozen strawberry daiquiris would have been warmer. Main courses. One was cold, the calzone and the other which was an upgraded Bolognese was drier than the flip flops belonging to a nomad wandering across the Sahara desert. Puddings then came and I had a salted caramel brownie which contained NO salted caramel. A major let down all round. The waiter even dropped one of our forks on the floor but still put it on our table. No way near worth £135. More like £13.50p. Will NEVER go back.

Service was slow and poor. Ordered the shrimp pasta, shrimp tasted good, pasta had absolutely no flavour, starter of Bruchetta was also poor, the bread was too tough. Good atmosphere, great for family but wouldn't go looking for a fancy meal

We reserved a table for 9 people. Upon arriving, only one waitress in the dining room who seemed overwhelmed. After giving us the menus and serving us the drinks. We try to take orders via the app. The table number does not work. So we kindly ask the lady to order our menu. And I manage to ask at the same time where my drink is. (All the other drinks were served before me, it was only wine for me). At this time our waitress informs us that many ingredients are out of stock, such as cheese for pizzas and pasta. Which is a shame for a pizzeria. I find it very unfortunate that no one informed us before we ordered drinks or even sat down that half of the menu was going to have missing ingredients. What a shame.

This is for anyone who is also placing an order with them online or via the 3rd party food delivery services like Uber eats...they cancelled our big order after 1.5 hours of waiting and it displaying on the Uber eats app that it's in the middle of preparation. General bad customer service. We also attended the restaurant and they were busy to the point of not actually paying attention to us. Quite disappointed

Absolutely shocking... Had an order placed via ubereats accepted only to be cancelled after an hour and a half of waiting and being told it was 'wrapping up'. Looks like it's freezer food for the kids tonight, only thing left is frozen peas and Morrison's savers Yorkshire puddings. Bon Appetit...

Terrible experience! Waited an hour and a half for starters and only half came out. Staff couldn’t even remember what we had ordered. Mains were cold and also took another 40minutes to come out. They then had the cheek to overcharge us for a set course, and put service charge on. Staff weren’t very apologetic and brushed off our complaints. Wouldn’t recommend

Visited on a Thursday evening. Restaurant wasn’t that busy yet was kept waiting over 10 mins till Any order was taken… other people seated got off their chair to chase staff around so they could leave! It was late we were hungry so we carried on. I had to catch a waiter to get my order taken even though I’d caught their attention several times. Order was placed and then starters arrived before the drinks … all we wanted was two fizzy drinks… I had to ask when the starter arrived could we have our drinks. It took a long time for starters to be cleared which lengthened our whole evening. I spent most of the night neck cricked to see where someone was. When it came to the bill I had to again chase them at this point there was Lot of standing around having a chat at to the kitchen staff across the collection area. What should have been a simple evening for us was not enjoyable and we were kept waiting for everything too long. The manager I’m guessing for the evening was very frosty and didn’t greet us nicely at the start, more like we were inconveniencing her. I should have taken that greeting as enough reason to not bother staying. We won’t be visiting this zizzis again.

Popped here on a Sunday for lunch. There were 6 of us and we didn't need to book. Staff were friendly and there is a great menu with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Something went wrong with some of our orders and so dishes arrived at different times -which we didn't mind at all but the communication about this wasn't great. Great meal though and everyone was catered for.

Should rename this restaurant chain Kidz Kidz If you want a grown up meal give this restaurant a wide berth! had to wait an eternity between courses, drinks really expensive too.

Yesterday we went to the restaurant by impulse without having a reservation.We were only two people and supposed to have a dinner. The young girl welcomed us and said that without reservation we couldn’t be seated.The restaurant was empty and we asked if she could find any space for both of us. She asked the lady who was there and she said no with out even looked at us.Such a rude attitude.When we left the restaurant I managed to make an online reservation and there were available tables for us! Of course we didn’t go there. Really disappointed and confused about this situation!!! Will never go there again!

Gone down hill. Waited forever for food, and it wasn't great either.

Absolutely awful experience today. Service was ridiculously slow. You can’t keep patrons waiting for so long whilst you continue to ferry Uber eats/Deliveroo orders out of the door. It’s an insult and spoils an evening out for guests. Staff forget half the things you ask them. Had to wait 15 minutes just to have tap water delivered to the table. Having a 4 and 6 year old waiting over 45 minutes for food is just not on. When food did arrive it was average. Our dessert of sticky toffee apple pudding was served cold! The ‘sticky toffee’ was solid and hadn’t melted. Overall don’t think I’ll be visiting this joint again.

Atrocious customer service. The least you would expect is for the staff to be polite but instead they are extremely rude particularly the assistant manager. I asked the branch manager if they had any complaints procedure to which she said that I just need to leave a review online!

The food was amazing but the service was poor, it was quite, not busy at all waited forever to be served, the staff are rude I said thank you, please etc didn’t get a response…drinks didn’t arrive until after our meal was done bare in mind we had starter & main, then when it did arrive it almost got it spilled all over me which normally I wouldn’t care as stuff like that can’t be helped but after the poor service it’s not exactly ideal. To top it off while paying by card the waiter who didn’t even serve us was horrified that I didn’t leave a tip as u have to skip that section before u pay he actually said “you’re skipping?l” I couldn’t believe this random man who hasn’t served me expected a tip for the worst service I’ve ever head. Definitely don’t recommend this branch it ruined our meal completely

Absolutely horrible in every way. Service slow and disjointed, starters came before we had drinks, then ordered a pudding which never came waited 30 mins then decided to get the bill and guess what they tried to charge us for the pudding. Food well below satisfactory cold started dry pizzas tasteless salad. Avoid like the plague this place is the pits

My favourite place to order food from, always happy with the portion sizes and quality of food and it always comes hot, highly recommend the garlic bread and spaghetti pomodoro…. Also the loaded fries 😋🤤

Having been to Zizzi a few times for a pizza I took my daughters and grandchildren for a meal at 5pm on Tuesday . We had a discount voucher and it was local though we didn't all fancy a pizza so us adults opted for the Pasta + Chicken options When we arrived the place was empty but the staff gave us time to order . There seemed to be just two on serving duty who were plesent enough tho by the time we left and the place was getting busy it was evident a third waiter/waitress was needed as it took ages to sort out the bill and they seemed a little stressed. The salmon carbonara , the ravioli and mushroom risotto were just so dull and were more like a £4.50 cheap supermarket ready meal which , at between £14-95 and £17-75 , had we paid full price , was a let down . The chicken Milanase at £17-50 was just OK tho the pototoes with it were very nice , the vegatables and sweet potato fries we ordered were also pretty good. The mocktails (Passion Sparkler) were pleasent though I think they were poured from a carton rather than being freshly mixed but at £5-50 maybe I guess we couldn't have expected more. Deserts again were no more than OK but , as as we had a 30% Off Food voucher , we were fine with them but had we paid full price (£6-95 + £7-95) we may have thought different

We needed to wait nearly 2 hours to get our food (mainly Pizza). Only the kids got their Starters first on our request. The bruschetta wasn’t really one. They gave us about 10% discount at the end for this. The waitress was very gentle. The prices for one Pizza is ridiculous high! Never paid 20£ or nearly 23€ for 1 Pizza in Italy.

Extremely understaffed but it’s no wonder since the manager is rude and arrogant. Not sure why anyone would want to work there unless they enjoyed being treated like a doormat and publicly embarrassed. They also have rats running around.

For a franchise, it is a nice casual place to spend an easy dinner. The service was a bit slow but they compensated with some snacks which was nice. The food is better than the other franchise pizza places. The parking space is limited

Ordered a delivery. Absolutely awful when it eventually arrived. All hot food stone cold and the £16 salad absolutely tiny with no goats cheese which I paid extra for Large fries ordered but again portion so small not even enough for a child! When I phoned restaurant they couldn’t more disinterested and told me to phone delivery company for refund. Do not get your food here as absolutely worst value for money and awful food and rude management

Expect a 45 min wait for each course even when the restaurant is quiet. The food was terrible, chewy chicken, most left uneaten, and kids food laced with marscapone?

Well the the actual food and service was fine Bit one month later I got a parking fine, so I rang the restaurant. Basically reading between the lines I was thick for not reading the signs - there are 4 signs, - I was late late and wanted to meet my mate so not really concentrating on signs. Suggested staff might be trained to mention it - computer says no - 'but it was the bane of her life, well' it's the bane of my life now. Pass- ed me off to send proof of purchase to the car park tin pot company. So I will add to my things to do on top of the list for sorting out my Dad's funeral arrangements. The manager was un-empathetic it was all about her - avoid price - is reasonable food ok but add on c£100 potential parking fine it's not a great consumer experience .there is one in South Woodford try your luck there - good luck Pizza Express Ask Pizza etc are as good without the crap

Me and my family went to have lunch at zizzi on Sunday after the remembrance service held outside of the restaurant. As we were entering the restaurant the manager was shouting at what seemed to be an employee. The manager was stood at the doorway when this incident occurred swearing and shouting infront of my young children. We decided to not proceed with lunch as it was not a family friendly environment and very unprofessional behaviour from the manager.

We celebrated my dads 75th birthday on Saturday at zizzis Loughton , there were 15 of us and the service we received from Lisa and the staff was amazing ! All the food and drink was served promptly and was delicious! Thankyou zizzis Loughton !!!!

So I placed an order for coco Di mama & upon delivery the order was slightly wrong. I phoned zizzi as Uber eats was rubbish and the manager Lisa was so apologetic and lovely and sweet. The chefs even apologised when I drove to collect my new order. Honestly so sweet. Lisa you’re a babe ! I hope they pay you enough 🥹 Thank you for rectifying everything 💖💖💖

Staff was ridiculously slow and rude even though the place was near enough dead. Food is mediocre. A staff member swore at a takeaway driver behind their back as the restaurant had given the delivery to the wrong driver. I heard they kept trying to charge a service fee repeatedly to the other table even though they had requested it to be removed multiple times. Never again

The WORST Zizzis I have experienced. I used to visit often when I lived in the area before I moved away and it was great. I visited today for the first time in a couple of years and it was TERRIBLE. Firstly, the staff were terribly under-trained. A waiter put through the wrong starters for us so we ended up with garlic bread instead of meatballs - not even remotely similar(?). We kept and paid for the wrong starter, along with reordering the original to save a fuss as staff were clearly already all over the place. A waitress brought over our drinks and was unaware of how to pour a beer - she poured it as you would a soft drink and it foamed instantly and overflowed onto my Mum's plate. They didn't offer a replacement and just gave us some paper towels, which was ridiculous considering half a glass of beer was now on the table. In regards to the food, it was okay. A lot of it was drenched in oil but bearable, and all of the food severely lacked seasoning. It's incredibly disappointing to eat tasteless food considering Zizzis prices. When we came to pay we required one bill for food and one bill for drinks, which none of the staff could do so the manager had to take over. My Mum had alcohol free Peroni and was charged the alcoholic price, which we just paid as we'd had enough and were desperate to leave. When we wanted to pay the issue with splitting the bills came up again and staff flustered as they tried to work out how to do it. Ultimately, it was a ridiculous experience and my family and I left incredibly disappointed, especially as this restaurant was once a favourite. I would NOT recommend this branch of Zizzis.

My family and I absolutely love this place. Our children aged 5yrs, 7yrs and 10 yrs love going to Zizzi. They love the fact that they get their own kids menu and are able to colour the back of it and do the fun activities which keeps them occupied. The staff are lovely and always ensure they get some colouring pencils. We are a vegetarian and vegan family so the fact that there is so much choice on the menu is a massive bonus. The food is amazing and the service is also great. Will continue visiting this lovely place. Thanks to all of Zizzi staff for doing such a great job and being amazing.

Service was ok, could have been a bit friendlier, maybe a smile to greet, my daughters 17th birthday, I should have read the reviews, had gone to Hornchurch with colleagues and the food was good! So Loughton, pork was belly has no crackling as advertised! And looked thrown in a bowl with undercooked frozen potatoes, tagatelli over cooked and stuck together, too chewy to eat. Waitress removed them from bill, but wanted a nice meal. Would not visit again. Pizza was ok.

Honestly had the worst service in this Zizzi. I don't understand why either. It's like everyone was on slow mode that day. There was only two other tables in the whole restaurant. I was very disappointed. Waited over 50 mins for the starters, only to have got them wrong. Found one lady very rude and sarcastic when I asked for the simplest of things. Will not be returning

We popped here for a bite to eat. The food was pretty good without being amazing. I had a Beef Ragu which was lovely. The service was good as well but you could see the two waitresses were being overworked and were short staffed but we had no problems with any prolonged wait times.

This was served mixed in the glass - no bottle of tonic given - no lemon and the gin (supposedly Sixsmith) was unpleasant - unless it was whatever tonic was used No mayonnaise available for salad - only alioli Coffee was weak and warm, not hot Not made aware that cash is not accepted (although evidently there is a sign somewhere on the door) until we wanted to pay at the end of our visit Asked for receipt when paying by card and was told that we couldn't have a receipt - they are not given Asked to speak to Manager - who was quite offhand about the service of our drinks and the fact that receipts were not available

Good service, ordered pizza classic. Although I don’t like my pizza with coarse semolina/polenta, but tastes ok. Definitely won’t return as the this chain not accepting Cash as a payment.

Had the seafood pasta special which was lovely and well presented. The special cocktail was like drinking pure sugar and way too sweet. Service was fast and efficient but the experience was made very special by the manager Kate. She made us feel really welcome and was especially friendly.

Had a lovely evening catching up with a friend in a lovely, friendly atmosphere. Food was of an amazing, fresh quality and extremely well cooked, tasted fab and excellent presentation. Staff very knowledgeable about all of the dishes on the menu and very welcoming.

Fair play to the understaffed crew that struggled to run a bar floor service and takeaway. Capitalism easily slipped into exploitation that night.....oh its always about exploitation of humans. Zizzi excelled.

The restaurant serves delicious food, but I find it slightly overpriced across all dishes. The service is generally good, but it could be more attentive to enhance the overall dining experience. On the positive side, the restaurant boasts ample seating space and a serene atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing meal. They also encourage cashless transactions, but offering cash payment options might attract more customers to the business.

We used Tesco vouchers and had no issue when using them. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the meal. I would come back during lunch time.

Food was good. Service was friendly but a bit slow. We visited mid-week.

I ordered food for delivery and when it turned up one of the lids was not placed on properly so one of the dishes under up on the floor, I phoned zizi for a refund and was greeted with someone with the worst attitude and was no help what so ever. I was told it wasn't their problem apparently and that was that. I will never be eating at one of these restaurants again.

Hottest day of the year and no outside tables.

Very pleasant restaurant. Waitress was excellent. Food a solid 8 to 8 and a half out of 10. Not extortionate. Would go back.

Excellent food … Salmon Risotto. Nice environment. Unfortunately service was appalling. Waited for 20mins after been given the menu before order was taken. Then more than 20mins for dessert order to be taken. Didn’t have dessert paid and left. Staff were standing around chatting much of the time.
