Freshwaters in Epping Forest

Freshwater offer lavish and huge, tasty portions of freshly made food at a very reasonable price. My wife's first instinct that day was to go to MacDonalds but the quality of food and value for money at Freshwaters was way beyond what we would have had there. Freshwater serve you a proper meal.

We visited on a busy Saturday morning and the food, service and value could not have been better. Yes they are cash only but there is a machine opposite. Parking on the high street can be challenging but there’s a car park behind. The food was well cooked and tasty - two of the best omelettes and chips we’ve had for a while. The service was brilliant and our friendly waitress Emma was superb, thank you. We will definitely be back.

Lovely local cafe with a good selection of hot food. The staff are really lovely, friendly and helpful. I turned up after an exhausting few hours trying to do house viewings on public transport in torrential rain, desperately in need of a pit stop. The chap who served me was very sweet and very helpful. I will recommend you and return to repay your kindness 😊

Called in here as I was passing through after a very busy morning/ early afternoon at work. I didn’t know they didn’t accept card payment as this was my first visit, and was about to cancel my order when the chap serving me said he would still make it. I thought he meant he would accept card payment but no, he meant give me the sandwich for free. I was so hungry and so very grateful. It is so nice to know there are people out there who are kind and compassionate and who go above and beyond for their customers. Thank you so much.

Breakfast came up far to quickly none of it cooked fresh and chips had been cooked again and again can't understand why not cook chips fresh sausage over cooked eggs poor. Not my ideal of a cafe.

Place is amazing every kind of food breakfast, pasta, pies, burgers, fish, chops anything you would want. Staff very friendly and efficient, only downfall is that they only take cash no card payments., but plenty of cash machines outside in the Broadway.

Terrible - just under £20 for 3 baguettes - £2.50 for a bag of crisps. Little bubble fella behind the jump - made a point of giving me the wrong change twice. Give this place a miss and go across the road to the better cafe.

Always kept in clean condition by pleasant and friendly staff. The food arrives quickly and has always been well prepared, they're not tight on portion sizes either. They've recently put their prices up a little, but that's fine, they've been the same cheap price for ages, in my opinion you still get good value and table waitress service for the money. This place is fabulous and the service is very good.very clean and great choices of food. I had a slice of carrot cake and they added spray cream,chocolate sauce for decoration and raspberries, good thing i was sharing. Great value for money. So glad I got to visit this place.

The place is clean , spacious , tidy , modern , sleek , good decor , bright and big place to go which makes even better to enjoy your meal in there when you go whenever to try something. The food was good , hot , fresh , delicious , flavourful , mouthwatering and well portioned food that make you think how they cook perfect food like that without any problems. The staff is friendly , responsive , respectful , attentive , sociable , well mannered , well organised , efficient , professional and always serve with a smile. The price for roast beef meal , prawn omelette , tea , coffee and carrot cake cost £18.40 which was reasonable for what they were serving us. We had great time at there enjoying their meal which reminded me the 5 star experience that I had long time ago which they serve you with professionalism , smile and if you don’t go there you will regret until you go.

A great cafe that has an extensive, reasonably priced menu and plenty of seating, both inside and out. They make a great tea or coffee and their breakfasts are amazing! Always a good choice of cold drinks in the chiller and they make fantastic wraps and sandwiches to eat in or take away - the chicken club wrap is one of my personal favourites. There are some nice little touches like a lotus biscoff biscuits with your hot drinks! Always very friendly and helpful with enough staff to ensure you're always served quickly. There is a toilet on site and daily newspapers for customers too.

Pretty poor cafe. Been there a few times as it’s local. Always hoping it will get better. Nope. Food mostly just warm, even though not busy. Expensive for what it is. Staff not friendly, just like you’re doing them a favour being there. Buck it up, new people living in the area need good service no matter what their characteristics are.

Poor food quality (not hot, just warm). Expensive for cafe food. Unfriendly staff, not welcoming for diversity. They seem to be friendly with ‘regulars’ but others are just an inconvenience. Cash only (we can guess why... HMRC). Avoid, Greg’s across the road is better quality and service.

It's a better cafe than the one across the road on the Broadway (Cafalicous). The food that we had served was much better quality and the staff were very helpful and friendly. There's not much difference in the menus but Fresh Water is slightly better quality.

Been here for a breakfast some time ago. Quality of food was good, place was clean and staff were friendly and professional. Overall it has a lively vibe to it and it's a welcoming atmosphere. Small but nice. Outdoor seating is available and it’s under cover from rain. I had a panini, coffee and a coffee when I went there and both were quite good. Good presentation and served fast enough. Everything else you would need was already on the table (sugar, salt, peper, sauces etc). The only gripe I had was that they weren’t taking card payments and I had to pay in cash, which I don’t usually carry around too often. Luckily that day I had some on me. From what I can tell, you always order at the bar/desk and your order will come at the table once ready. Staff were attentive, made sure everything was OK with food or if I need anything else. Location-wise, the place is pretty close to the Debden station, being only a 3-5 minute walk, depending on your pace. More than this, I can’t say much more about the area as I was just passing through London and had a couple of hours to spare and stopped by Fresh Waters for a bite. Overall, I was happy with the experience, and I would eat here again if I find myself in the area.

Went here for "greasy spoon", post hangover fryup. Not bad, it's pretty standard, out of the freezer stuff. My mega brekkie was £9 with tea and toast, I thought decent value. Staff were real friendly and polite, apologised for the wait (it was rammed to be fair). I'd definitely return.
