We visited with our young son at 11.45am, we were allowed to sit in the restaurant and feed our son until the kitchen opened for us to order. We were served by Nina who was lovely and played with our son and made time to chat with us and feel very welcome - thank you so much!

My husband and I had a lovely experience at the George and the Dragon. We had the set lunch which was delicious. Bradley and Charlie were very helpful and attentive. We will definitely be back!

Booked dinner here for family visiting from abroad that wanted to experience a British pub and they were not disappointed. We were looked after by Ioana who was lovely and very attentive. The food was excellent, cooked fresh not like some chain pubs that just warm it up and everyone had good time. Highly recommended.

Lovely pub and cosy atmosphere. The only let down is staff. They are simply miserable and service appallingly slow. Tables not cleaned quick enough for when others arrive. Needs to be addressed I'm afraid. Attention to hygiene and detail needed

Another fabulous afternoon spent at The George & Dragon, Epping. A great all rounder. Welcoming, friendly, comfortable, clean. A great buzzy atmosphere as it got busier. The five of us all enjoyed our food chosen from the great value set lunch menu. Fish and chips, steak sandwich, gammon steak, egg and chips, goat’s cheese salad. All lovely, fresh and very tasty Fantastic attentive service from Nina and helper, who went out of their way to make sure we were looked after. Look forward to our return

Lovely Sunday roast and great service from Ioana

The food here is amazing! The Sunday roast is 10/10 and GF menu is great too. Service is excellent. Our host Ioana was so lovely and very attentive. Definitely going to be back to this cosy pub

We had reserved a room for a pre-wedding dinner for 21 people, the staff were excellent, especially Ioana, who looked after us. She made sure to keep the food warm for us as some of our group were delayed, she prepared a special table for the happy couple and even had their names on a screen. It was a fantastic evening and we even rebooked the same room for Sunday lunch!

Ioana was an amazing host! Lovely food and a lovely atmosphere (yummy wine too), we will definitely be coming back, especially after a glimpse of their festive menu!

Just two staff, Ioana & Luke, running the dining rooms. Both were so, so helpful and couldn’t have been more attentive. Superb service!

Stopped by for some lunch today, and the food was delicious. As a group of 3, we had clean plates all round. We were served by the lovely Nina, who is a credit to this pub. So welcoming and kind, this type of service is hard to come by. We'll be back 🙂

Lovely little pub and the foods always surprisingly good

Went for a lovely meal here the food was absolutely beautiful but the service we recieved from Ioana was amazing, she went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely time. we didnt need to wait long for anything and nothing was to much trouble shes an absolute credit to your restaurant staff Thank you for a wonderful evening Ioana.

A place I loved going to in 1987, a superb pub, with lots of good memories and I hope to come to this place one day.

Beth was absolutely amazing! She was attentive and kind throughout our visit and her drink recommendations were spot on! The gin she served me was lovely and exactly what I wanted! I will 100% be coming again 🫶

Cannot fault this place! Amazing food and service. Ioana our server was so lovely, and took her time to explain the menu and accommodate our requests. We had the steak and it was soooo juicy and tender. Brownie and creme brûlée were a hit too. As was the sticky chicken starter. Highly recommend!

We regularly visit The George and Dragon as it’s a local pub. Excellent service as always from Ioana! The food is always served with a great taste and a wide selection of foods. Ioana always makes sure customers are well looked after. A credit to our local pub.

Went to dinner and was asked about allergies. The chef amended a dish to suit, but unfortunately, it was not as both I and the chef anticipated. The dish was exchanged for a delicious fish dish at no additional charge. The waiter was attentive and very friendly. To top it all, they reduced the bill, too, even though there was no need to. Excellent food with fantastic service. Highly recommend

Iona was brilliant. Couldn't fault her service. The food was also great. However the rest of the servers weren't good. Food didn't come out on time. There was a used tissue stuffed in the ketchup bottle and they wouldn't let use move table even though one of us had a bad back and there were lots of better chairs available. Not a hard request considering we spent nearly £300.

We had the most wonderful time, the service was amazing. The host IDANA remembered every single order without pen or paper perfectly, I was amazed, she is a true hostess and 5 star waitress. Sunday roast. Great food, bubbly waitress but the tall barman was quite rude to us, both my husband and I noticed it. We were only going to ask about our table booking but he blanked us, then was really offhand. Maybe he was having a bad day but not what you do in hospitality. He could just have said 'Sorry I will be with you in a minute'. UPDATE: In their defence, they got back to me but have no wish to get anyone into trouble so prefer not to help them identify him. He may have been having an off day.

Perfect Sunday roast. Food tasted amazing, kids portion were also a good size. Their trio meat option was perfect. Only reason for dropping a star was gravy was quite watery. Free Parking available but we didn't know so parked in nearby council office car park. Beautiful pub nestled in the high street. Lovely inside but the outside needs a little bit of work. Overall I would recommend for a great place to eat with the family.

Our local football club meet here regularly- Epping Foresters FC. We are always well looked after by Iona and her team. Great Vibe.

There is nothing worse than leaving your home for a dining experience and leaving the restaurant disappointed. The experience was odd, with some staff members seeming disinterested. On arrival, we were kindly advised that we had the option to sit indoors or outdoors, with the advice being to notify staff so they could clean the table. The restaurant appeared to be busy so this was not done, understandably however due to how busy the restaurant was. We notified another staff member who then cleaned a completely different table. I informed a 3rd staff member following this who kindly and promptly asked a colleague to give the table a wipe. However, the staff member proceeded to spray cleaning product onto the table and onto us, there was no real apology, instead we were informed it was, ‘only sanitizer’ as if this made it acceptable. Ultimately, whilst the food was decent the odd customer service made tarred the experience as a whole.

Food was fantastic and Ioana our waitress was fantastic. So helpful, friendly and constantly checking to make sure we were ok or needed anything.
