The best restaurants in Chelmsford East of England

Where do I start…..great lunch (tuna sandwich on freshly baked bread, ham and cheese toasty and the most amazing Welsh Rabbit. It just goes to show what a little bit of love, great ingredients and attention detail can add to these dishes. Lovely setting away from the hustle and bustle of the city center with tables generously spaced so you are not sitting on your neighbours laps. What set this place apart were the staff - everyone wanted to help, guide you through the menu and nothing was too much trouble. A special mention for Felicity who was an absolute star. She guided us to the Christmas Cake and Chocolate Brownie which were to die for - so much so we ordered a whole cake and tray make for Christmas (at very reasonable rates). The Christmas Cale was the finest I have tasted in years!!! All in all - a fabulous spot for breakfast and lunch 1 we will be back!

The Food had no taste and didn’t look great. The whole restaurant looked like it needed a good clean. I saw The staff eating the leftovers off of the plates. I was up all night with a bad stomach and diarrhoea

This restaurant is sited within the Best Western Atlantic Hotel, the menu choice currently offered is much reduced and not open on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, go elsewhere.

I would just like too say a massive thank you too the beautiful barmaid Paris who served me. What a lovely, lovely girl, she made me feel so welcome and more confident. Such a lovely person, thank you so much Paris for making our evening 💗 xx

Great chicken kebab, the salad is always fresh and tasty. Pizzas are also great.

Old school cafe great panini but everything else was mediocre..... Coffee very weak. Staff seemed a bit confused by what was going on.

Family get together with age range from 6 to 85. Food, service, atmosphere excellent. Will visit again definitely, well done.

It was our first time at that the restaurant and the experience from start to finish was amazing. We went for the sharer menu plus an extra butter chicken, it was delivered quickly and was amazing so tasty , we would highly recommend this restaurant the atmosphere was excellent for a Sunday the staff are amazing and made our visit just perfect unfortunately we didn’t get their names, complements to the kitchen chefs, thank you we cannot wait to return.

The rocky road (nuts) was a Christmas take and it was very yummy thanks Nicola would highly recommend maybe the adult cake next time ( Irish cream cake ) regards Roy.

So damn good. Will order again. The drunken noodles are just the ticket. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu!!

Had a great meal at Yatzen Contemporary Oriental Restaurant and Takeaway last night. Haven’t been there since before covid and when it reopened for seating in. Lovely food, friendly and great service from the staff and very reasonable price. Will def be making regular visits, thanks to all the Yatzen staff 👏 100% recommend

We had a great family night out , the food was excellent and the service was fantastic, we had a fun time with our waiter Raj and the team !!

Because of its surrounding glazing, the atmosphere of the Glass House Cafe is inspiring and enhances the much needed social interaction with neighbours. All kinds of ages, and lovely comfort food of jacket potatoes, sandwiches and freshly made salads; generous portions and immediate service by friendly staff. And as you think you are done, you notice the delicious cakes sitting on the counter, and you stay for a quality coffee accompanied by one of them , at least :-). We are going back for sure!
