The best restaurants in Rettendon and Runwell Chelmsford East of England

First time at Taz and it was lovely, the manager and staff were very friendly and welcoming, just attentive enough to make sure you had enough drinks and on hand if you needed anything, the food was delicious. We had the table for a birthday and we didn’t feel rushed to leave, and the staff brought up the dessert with a candle and stopped to join us embarrassing my friend with the happy birthday song :) Decor is lovely and warm, tables set far enough apart that you didn’t feel on top on one another. Would definitely eat here again, felt very comfortable and like we mattered as customers.

Really friendly staff, really tasty food, it was my fiancé’s birthday and they put a candle into his dessert, which was kind of them. My only minor suggestion would be to add the mixed shish on the lunch menu, as you can pay the extra for the lamb, so would be better to have mixed shish on there also, last time they let me pay the £3 and have mixed shish, but this time they said no. Overall fantastic experience at Taz.

Ate here on a Monday night for dinner. The food was delicious and served quickly. Everything we ate was fantastic. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend for a Monday night dinner catch up with friends!

Me and bf decided to come here for lunch after a good day browsing and for our first time there it’s was excellent I had the bacon sandwiches along with salad and crisps and my bf had the sausage chips and egg meal and both our meals were delicious The staff and waitress were great and we had excellent service Overall me and my bf had a great meal and a great view of BattlesBridge on the top floor Completely recommend if your in the area or after a good day browsing at BattlesBridge Solid 5/5

In the afternoon, stopped here for a toilet break & cuppa, would go back to try their yummy menu. the food looked delish :)

We tend to default to the Hawk as we know it is reliable and good value. Needs to get up to date on alcohol free beer offering though. Lovely pre-christmas meal.

Food we had was good, taste, hot and reasonably priced, menu choices are adequate. White coffee was excellent.

Often pop for lunch this time was an event foe Christmas. A Rod Stewart tribute evening... with 2 coarse meal ... lovely and the staff are so helpful ... food large portions

Had a wonderful family afternoon tea last Saturday. Easy to book, staff were quietly efficient, friendly and attentive. Food was excellent and more than enough. Highly recommended in a lovely setting.

We stopped in here this evening after long look around battlesbridge. The gent that owns the place is lovely and very accommodating. The inside is really lovely and the food was absolutely worth every penny. As i told the owner before leaving the best place for hot food you’ll find at battlesbridge. We’ll see you again soon!
