Was a nice place to go and eat lunch whilst waiting for the train

Food tasted great and was good value, staff members were very helpful and polite, plenty of parking, nice atmosphere

Great night at our local tonight! Extra bonus of live music which made for a really good atmosphere. Food was lovely as always, still rating the crab starter and both lamb options were perfect. Stand out service tonight from our waiter Joe, who was 💯 on every level. Positive and helpful attitude, right level of banter and just an all round pleasure. Made a huge difference to our enjoyment tonight so massive thanks Joe, a real credit to the restaurant 🌟👍

Came with mine and my girlfriends family for her birthday, the garden was perfect, the staff were great and the roast dinner was incredible. Will definitely be returning Thanks

Well, what a beautiful restaurant, the welcome was perfect, the waitresses were knowledgeable and very pleasant and attentive. The taste and flavours of the food were great, however my uncooked roasted carrots sat next to my undercooked pork belly, (they cooked it further at my request offered to change the whole meal) I don’t like waste so said to just cook the pork longer. The dauphinoise potatoes needed 15 longer too. My girlfriend eneded the meal with a chocolate crème brûlée, with no chocolate tasted like custard. She had an espresso Martini that was the worst tasteless drink we have ever had. This could have been exceptional with a little better care to check the food on the pass, and teach people how to make cocktails. Even with the issues, becuase the team were so amazing we had a good time. Ps don’t don’t don’t put cress on my desert it’s not pretty and odly tastes like cress 😱

We reserved garden seating, it was a beautiful day, the food choice was great and the good was divine. All staff were friendly and helpful.

Having travelled back to see my mum from the far east I have eaten here twice now this week Sunday lunch was very good - the Yorkshire Pudding needed some extra hot gravy to liven it up though For a mid week dinner everything was just right - Sininta our server was on point, made everything good just that little bit better

Bit gutted. Had some lovely meals here before. Starts banging. Mains awful. I had the steak Sanger on ficaccia. There was about a quid worth of steak inside the bread which was 2 inches thick each slice. Very dry. We also had our pants pulled down on the bill as we were charged for drinks for a different table number? I urge you too check your bills/receipts when you get here tbh. Annoyed.

First time for dinner but unlucky for us, we picked a sunny Wednesday which meant the place was packed and therefore service suffered. Took approx two hours to have the food but the manager apologised profusely and gave us two rounds of drinks on the house (hence 5 star for service). Food was great so we'll go back but pick a rainy day this time!

You can pretty much guarantee that the food will be delicious, the staff are friendly and the location & pub is lovely. I really like going here.

Me and my friends really enjoyed our experience at this pub. The food was lovely with us each eating from the set course lunch menu. The only issue we had was a slight fault on our bill which I hadn’t realised until after we had left due to an error with their system however after calling up, Jenny was massively helpful and fixed the issue immediately. Our server lily-mae was lovely too. We would definitely return again.

Food was cold when arrived but tbf it was cooked lovely but think it sat on the side until it was brought out so overall given 3 stars We sat inside but could also be cleaned a little better inside and out

Great food lovely restaurant decorated to a high standard, must say the staff are very friendly and welcoming. On this occasion our waitress was Beverley she made sure everything was perfect for us and made us feel like we were the only people in the restaurant. Fantastic!

Portion sizes are toi small. Pork belly was too small and the pasta dish was runny, not very tasty and only had 2 scallops. Waiting time was too long not just to sit down but also after you order the food. The lady at the bar discouraged me to wait but l insisted her to put my name down on the waiting list.

Been a few times now love the food will be back again soon

Popped in for lunch and had meat pie and sausage and mash. Food was good and an appropriate portion size for us. More expensive than I was expecting, but given the hit that hospitality has taken since Covid, understandable. Our waitress, Skye, was excellent.😊

Me and my friend came for some drinks and food, our server was Carlie and made us feel very accommodated too always checking on our table very friendly.We never waited long for service food was lovely and drinks were great too.

I visited the hawk on Sunday afternoon and had a lovely waitress, I’m sure her name was Carlie, she was lovely and always made sure our table was refilled with drinks. A big thankyou to the chef our food was delicious!

Went for Sunday lunch and once again, we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The roast chicken was delicious, with plenty of vegetables. Our waitress Carlie was very professional, attentive and friendly. We cannot recommend The Hawk highly enough and will definitely go back.

Had Sunday lunch outside on a warm Sunday. Food was nice, very good burger. Could have done with some additional condiments being offered but other than that, was nice. Service was good, waitress, Senita, was friendly & professional. Plenty of parking but it does get full up around the busy periods. Best to arrive a bit before your time and relax with a drink at the bar.

Pub lovely. Staff lovely. However the food we had wasn’t the best sadly. Ate in the bar and had fish and chips and a burger. VERY SMALL portions and given the dishes we had were just under £20 each, it did not feel value for money. Unfortunately the fish was very dry too. I would go back and eat in the main restaurant and give the food another chance to see if it’s any better.

We went to the hawk to celebrate my birthday along with my family and friends, we had an amazing night! Our waitress Lauren looked after us and made me feel extra special tonight…not to mention the cocktail she made which was incredible! Not only did Lauren look after us but Jess and Chloe were both very attentive. Adam cooked us as incredible meal and didn’t disappoint as always. We always look forward to coming and will continue too!!

Lovely pub with great food and service

We came back again with friends, enticed by the ⅓ discount voucher. These regular offers are great ideas and keep us returning more often. The rib-eye steaks were delicious, as was most of the food. Some of the vegetables or side dishes were either slightly over- or under-cooked, but it didn't spoil the meal. The waitress was very friendly and courteous, as all of the staff are from the moment you step through the front door. There was plenty of convenient parking, as always. It's a great place to come for a meal any time of the year.

My friend and I had a lovely lunch in the garden. I had the cod & chorizo fish cakes with salad. The flavours were mild and tasty. The fishcakes cooked perfectly. My friend had the Cod special on burger wheat, cous cous plus much more. He thoroughly enjoyed his meal. To make the experience so nice, we had the best service from Ania, she was attentive, smiling, and nothing was too much trouble.

Nice venue. Long wait at the bar at lunchtime though.

Visited on a Wednesday evening, very quiet, hence only 2* for atmosphere. Drinks were a little expensive. Friendly, efficient service at the bar. Didn't eat.

Went with friends, had a fantastic meal and a great night out with our friends , Food was lovely but very pricey, the lamb Shank I had was unfortunately very fatty with not much meat, but that is the risk with lamb (in my opinion) so was not going to complain, some of my fellow eaters had the squid and all said it was the best they had had for a long time! Puddings were extremely yummy! Would definitely go back at some point as you always get great service !

Food and staff good but had to wait an age for orders to be taken, then even longer for starters to arrive, and then another long wait for main meal. I know that it was school holidays and it was a busy restaurant, but I think that the wait was unacceptable.

What a wonderful place. The restaurant was very busy as it was Sunday afternoon but the service was faultless & friendly thank you Senita. The food was exceptional, in fact I'm a Yorkshire woman and their Yorkshire puddings are the best I've ever had (don't tell my grandma!) My compliments to Charlie the chef. And to cap it all it was very reasonably priced.

We had a lovely Sunday meal here and the food was outstanding as always. Our waitress in particular was extremely attentive, with a lovely manner and was super friendly. She was very understanding of the fact we had 2 young children with us and did everything she could to make the experience enjoyable. 10/10 for the food and service with a special mention for our waitress Senita, she is gold dust. My husband & I had a lovely meal here this evening celebrating our 26th Wedding Anniversary! Excellent choice on the food & drinks list. Food was outstanding & delicious. Our waitress Bev was so friendly, happy and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend and look forward to returning soon.

My husband and I took my five cousins for Sunday lunch (12 May) and none of us could find any fault. The food was excellent (and we all had different meals - Sunday roast, sea bass, fish cakes and even a chicken salad). Our waitress, Kathy, was lovely. She was very efficient, but had a lovely disposition and a smile on her face all the time. I was so impressed with everything that, on returning home, I rang the Hawk and made another booking for 9 June when we have friends coming down from Kent.

Food overall was nice but not “extra ordinary”. We felt that the time from order, to starter on the table was too long (30 mins plus). Took a while to clear, and then another 25 mins to mains. A while to clear again, and then a tad quicker to dessert. Value for money, less than in the past …….

Booked table but was seated 30 mins late. Front of house didn't seem bothered or attempted to ask the previous people to vacate the table. Food wasn't bad for a pub.

Just had a lovely 3 course meal , Service from our waitress Sue superb , very busy being a Friday night but service very good , recommend the scallops followed by Lamb rump beautiful, bit pricey but worth it 😋👍 Will be returning 👍

I went there,ordered a starter as just really wanted a snack.The guy on the entry said "take a seat,someone will be over",15 mins later after no service i ordered at the bar.After waiting 45 mins no food i got a refund and left.Nice pub,but apparently have new ordering system for food,few teething problems!

Staff very helpful - One of our party had a gluten allergy and normally finds a menu limited. He was offered an iPad to view the gluten dishes and then his choice was double checked. Excellent service

Cant comment on food. Popped in on Sunday, really busy with no space to sit except couple of stools at the bar. If going for meal make sure you book. Bit pricey. Otherwise friendly staff nice setting.

Our server was amazing, attentive without being over bearing, we were given a nice break between courses and the food and drinks were amazing. We cannot praise the service enough our drinks always arrived promptly and with a smile. Our server was just awesome and a credit to your business! We cannot wait to return.
