An excellent evening, with delicious food .. beautifully cooked by Adam. Waitress Liza was attentive without hovering. I really enjoy this venue.

Delicious food and beautiful setting. My dining experience at the Hawk was truly exceptional! Stacey was very attentive and helpful. The food was really outstanding! My favourite was the pan fried sea bass fillets.

We came in on Monday, and had a lovely time. The food was wonderful and generous portions. Our waitress Stacey, couldn't have done more for us. Nothing was too much trouble and she ensured we was happy. Will definitely be returning soon! Thankyou!

Visited The Hawk Battlesbridge for Sunday Roast. Booked online - Easy. Arrived & was seated immediately & offered drinks. Ordered food & our server Senita came over & introduced herself. The food arrived quickly & was delicious. Senita made sure we were very well looked after. Highly recommend The Hawk Battlesbridge

Went for Sunday Roast, extremely busy, staff really nice but service was on the slow side, then just finishing desert and was presented with the bill as we only had limited time which we were not told when booking.

Fabulous meal as always. Senita looked after us very well. Timings were superb. Attention great. Really enjoyable evening.

Food was absolutely beautiful, atmosphere was very homely and welcoming. Stacey made our meal very enjoyable and provided the most attentive service with very bubbly attitude!

We come here regularly and usually have no complaints and are very happy with the service and food but today we both had lamb which is one of the most expensive dishes on the menu, only to be told when the dishes arrived that there was no mint sauce! No biggie really I know but not really acceptable when you have lamb on the menu not to have mint sauce which is it’s accompaniment!!

My mum had her 70th birthday 🎂 at the Hawk. The food was great, but the service was spot on. So was an overall great day. I was stuffed. I will review if I like the place. If I don't, I put nothing.

Am sitting in the Hawk Battlesbridge a table for 9. The table was booked by my Daughter in law . On arriving I was informed that there was no steak, burgers and half the menu not available. When food was brought out quite a lot was cold. And then we were told that they had run out of Yorkshire puddings ( just as the main meals were being served) my fish & chips was retuned as the fish meat was not cooked it should be white and flakey The second time was only marginally better . Lots of I’m sorry from the waitresses.

The staff in The Hawk make it worth the visit alone! They really went out of their way to make my dad’s 80th birthday special, especially Sinita (hope I’ve spelled that right!) who was fabulous and felt like she was a friend by the time we left, and the lovely lady at the front desk. Thank you so very much all of you. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Hawk to anybody wanting a lovely Sunday lunch/special occasion 😊

Very attentive staff, very helpful regarding my fish allergy, making sure the kitchen staff were fully aware.

I live down the road but hardly go in there anymore as they during the week only have 1 person behind the bar serving both the bar and restaurant drinks! (weekends 2 people). The restaurant drinks seem to take priority over the people standing at the bar so especially if they are making cocktails you end up waiting a ridiculous time for a drink! Not acceptable at over 6 pounds a pint. If you’re going to have a bar, please have bar staff!

5 of us had lunch at The Hawk yesterday and we were very impressed with the ambience, the service and the staff especially Stacy, our lovely, bubbly waitress who did a magnificent job looking after us. We had Starters, Mains, mini deserts with a cocktail finishing off with coffees. Everything was beautifully cooked and delicious. This is how a restaurant should be run. So a big thank you to Stacy who is an asset to your establishment and we are looking forward to coming again very soon.

Lovely Sunday roast and great service from our waitress Serina, she really looked after us even though she was very busy.

First time we went today cannot fault the food had sea bass and side cauliflower cheese And the fish and chips huge And mini dessert and coffee Best meal out in a long while Both were excellent the staff were friendly and nothing too much trouble food was hot and no wait Definitely will be back

Well worth a visit,plenty of parking and as a added bonus there are a lot of antique shops very close

Just had a great evening at The Hawk to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our server Jack was fantastic & the food and wine delicious. Thank you to all the team for a lovely celebratory evening for us. Will definitely be back very soon.

Came here about a year ago and was somewhat impressed, they have a new head chef called adam who is clearly a master chef as this time was a substantial improvement! The food was bang tidy and we only waited about 20 mins. Our server, chloe was also lovely and made us feel very much at home. 10 bananas out of 10.

We were meeting friends we hadn’t seen for eight years, we were made to feel very welcome and not pressured for time at all, we had a lot to catch up on and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, definitely the best food we have had at a pub lunch in the Rayleigh/Battlesbridge area

The food was delicious and The chateaubriand was absolutely fantastic., however it was the service that really stood out for us. . Cathy was beyond exceptional. Not only did she quickly resolve a small issue with our a starter but also provided superior service. So professional, accommodating and a true credit to the establishment. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a smile. Cathy made our evening.

Nice looking place, the restaurant area was a bit cramped & overstuffed with tables in the section we were in. It was very stuffy & airless, the windows wouldn’t open properly. The food was nice but it was overshadowed by the heat & cramped area.

Great night at our local tonight! Extra bonus of live music which made for a really good atmosphere. Food was lovely as always, still rating the crab starter and both lamb options were perfect. Stand out service tonight from our waiter Joe, who was 💯 on every level. Positive and helpful attitude, right level of banter and just an all round pleasure. Made a huge difference to our enjoyment tonight so massive thanks Joe, a real credit to the restaurant 🌟👍

We reserved garden seating, it was a beautiful day, the food choice was great and the good was divine. All staff were friendly and helpful.

Well, what a beautiful restaurant, the welcome was perfect, the waitresses were knowledgeable and very pleasant and attentive. The taste and flavours of the food were great, however my uncooked roasted carrots sat next to my undercooked pork belly, (they cooked it further at my request offered to change the whole meal) I don’t like waste so said to just cook the pork longer. The dauphinoise potatoes needed 15 longer too. My girlfriend eneded the meal with a chocolate crème brûlée, with no chocolate tasted like custard. She had an espresso Martini that was the worst tasteless drink we have ever had. This could have been exceptional with a little better care to check the food on the pass, and teach people how to make cocktails. Even with the issues, becuase the team were so amazing we had a good time. Ps don’t don’t don’t put cress on my desert it’s not pretty and odly tastes like cress 😱

Having travelled back to see my mum from the far east I have eaten here twice now this week Sunday lunch was very good - the Yorkshire Pudding needed some extra hot gravy to liven it up though For a mid week dinner everything was just right - Sininta our server was on point, made everything good just that little bit better

Very nice atmosphere. Served quickly. Was expecting more from the description of the food. It was OK, but I would look at other people's plates next time. Very busy. Staff were friendly.

Bit gutted. Had some lovely meals here before. Starts banging. Mains awful. I had the steak Sanger on ficaccia. There was about a quid worth of steak inside the bread which was 2 inches thick each slice. Very dry. We also had our pants pulled down on the bill as we were charged for drinks for a different table number? I urge you too check your bills/receipts when you get here tbh. Annoyed.

First time for dinner but unlucky for us, we picked a sunny Wednesday which meant the place was packed and therefore service suffered. Took approx two hours to have the food but the manager apologised profusely and gave us two rounds of drinks on the house (hence 5 star for service). Food was great so we'll go back but pick a rainy day this time!

Me and my friends really enjoyed our experience at this pub. The food was lovely with us each eating from the set course lunch menu. The only issue we had was a slight fault on our bill which I hadn’t realised until after we had left due to an error with their system however after calling up, Jenny was massively helpful and fixed the issue immediately. Our server lily-mae was lovely too. We would definitely return again.

You can pretty much guarantee that the food will be delicious, the staff are friendly and the location & pub is lovely. I really like going here.

Portion sizes are toi small. Pork belly was too small and the pasta dish was runny, not very tasty and only had 2 scallops. Waiting time was too long not just to sit down but also after you order the food. The lady at the bar discouraged me to wait but l insisted her to put my name down on the waiting list.

Great food lovely restaurant decorated to a high standard, must say the staff are very friendly and welcoming. On this occasion our waitress was Beverley she made sure everything was perfect for us and made us feel like we were the only people in the restaurant. Fantastic!
