Miller and Carter in Chelmsford

Amazing food and amazing customer service. The Front of house were so chitchatting and friendly it made us feel like we regulars when this was only our first visit. Our server, Emma or Emily was also so very friendly and everyone was very welcoming. We would recommend to everyone to go chelmsford miller and carters as the staff and food is amazing!!! 100% get the bbq ribs.

Lovely restaurant, very clean with a nice atmosphere. I had the T-bone steak medium rare which was extremely juicy and full of flavour. My partner had the bacon cheeseburger which she enjoyed. Diane was our server and she was great, very friendly and easy to chat with. We will be coming back again.

Husband and I were seated upstairs which is where I prefer, so happy about that. Very friendly waitress, Jaime served us, she was very efficient and helpful. I had the lamb rump, which was, as always...spectacular! Cooked to perfection! Oh and the baileys and cointreau cocktail was divine! Can't wait to return!

Med week, the service was slow. It was less than40% full. What would it be like on Friday or Saturday who knows?. At one point, one of our party went down to ask how we are getting on with our order?? We were upstairs, and we think they forgot to place the order.

Food was great but we did not like that we couldn't have a drink at the bar before our dinner booking. We had to order our drinks and have table service but that's not the issue. The area away from the bar to drink was absolutely freezing and we had to wait ages for service! The whisky my husband was served at the table had a foreign particle in it. The waitress was aware and she apologised profusely and brought him another although we didn't actually complain about it. Just it shouldn't be there in the 1st place.

My partner and I went here for a Valentine’s meal last Friday and we were incredibly disappointed by the food. Both my partner & I ordered a Wagyu steak, medium-rare, but my steak came out blue. We reported this to the waitress (who was lovely & we couldn’t fault her at all) and she managed to get us another steak. This did mean my partner had to have his food under a lamp to stay warm in the meantime, which wasn’t ideal. Unfortunately, when the second steak came, I had a few mouthfuls (which were fine) until I noticed the rest of the steak was again, blue (picture added). I couldn’t eat the rest of the meal as I was completely put off by my raw steak. We reported this again to the waitress who was completely apologetic and she got her manager. When the manager appeared, she also apologised, but we had to ask for the steak to be removed from the bill (this was not offered as a gesture of goodwill). We voiced how we weren’t going to eat the remainder of our meal & as we ordered from the set menu, we got the dessert to go (which we didn’t eat due to being put off from our main). I contacted Miller and Carter raising this issue and how disappointed we were with the service, despite still paying £90 for our meal, and we were told that “if your further issues had been brought to the attention of the management team, more could’ve been done on the evening to ensure that you had left as happy as possible”. We did voice how unhappy we were, but as stated, we had to ask for the steak to be taken off the bill. We didn’t want to cause a scene as it wasn’t the waitress’ fault, hence emailing Miller and Carter directly. I didn’t receive a response after this. Overall, we were highly disappointed by the food and will not be returning.

Went for a special occasion and the staff were really helpful when organising a surprise for our son. The food was delicious, as always, and Jody, our waitress, was lovely. Will definitely be coming back.

Had a great treat day with my bestie. We had the lunchtime menu- such a great value for money menu. Big portions but much cheaper than main menu. Shelley was so attentive but not intrusive. Got to know my friend and her kids. I would recommend trying the sticky chicken starter yummy.

When I walked in I was greeted by the lovely Rhiannon she showed us to our table and when I finished my journey to said table I was amazing at how perfectly it was laid, I was astounded, Rhiannon was very patient with me as I am a child when it comes to picking my food. The seats were comfy and food was fantastic the steak is especially exceptional. I will definitely be going back and everyone that works in that establishment deserves a crisp high five. (The toilets were also sparkly and clean)

THE CHICKEN WINGS AND HALLOUMI WERE VERY NICE, THE GARLIC BREAD WAS HARDLY COOKED, IT WAS JUST MELTED CHEESE ON BREAD. THE STEAKS WERE OK, HOWEVER HARDLY ANY FLAVOUR, PEPPERCORN SAUSE WAS LUKE WARM, CHIPS WERE COLD. WINE WAS VERY NICE THOUGH

Gabby has been our waitress at the Chelmsford miller and carter restaurant twice now, she is very friendly, welcoming and nothing is to much trouble. She goes out her way to make sure every occasion is a special occasion and will definitely be visiting again and again … hopefully she will be our waitress again. Thanks gabby.

Came for Valentine’s Day, food was lovely and services was amazing! Our waitress Isabelle S was incredible, always making sure we were good and everything was okay. Really made our evening!

As it was our Wedding Anniversary we decided to come to Miller and Carter to celebrate. When we arrived, we were seated in the corner of the bar at first . After a quick word with the seating manager, we were moved into the resteraunt and had a lovely meal. Starters were presented well and were very tasty. we then had The Butchers Block Sharing meal for 2, which was cooked Medium as requested, the steaks were perfectly done. We were looked after by the very attentive waitress and thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

Had a lovely meal on Monday with my friends and our partners, very nice atmosphere and the food was amazing. Service was fantastic couldn’t fault it! We had a lovely meal.

We came in on Sunday and from the start it was amazing. Rhiannon was smiley and helpful when seating us. Will served us and he was efficient and lovely. We are definitely coming back. Thank you Rhiannon and will for an amazing evening :)

I had my staff do here and Gabby was our serve. She was very attentive and you could see she was hard working. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. I will definitely be returning.

The ambience is beautiful, really lovely restaurant and decor. Our waitress was excellent. She was super efficient and attentive, and she had an excellent sense of humour (which we really appreciated). The food was outstanding. The four of us agreed that all 3 of our courses were absolutely outstanding. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Went for a meal at the weekend which was amazing! The service was really quick and steaks were great. Slightly pricey but you get what you pay for.

My wife and I booked a table for an early Valentines day meal. I had come along for a work lunch at Christmas and really enjoyed it so reccomended to my wife that we came here as it had been quite awhile since we visited a Miller and Carter. We arrived early but were seated promptly and our waitress, Alice was very warm and friendly and kept a check in on us and was informative to the drinks and menu and was a credit to the restaurant. It was very chilled atmosphere where we were seated. U the bar and our food and drinks were served up quickly. We both had sticky chipotle chicken for starters and the dirty burger for mains. The food was top notch. Delicious and very juicy. We were so full we couldn't eat a pudding. I enjoyed a beautiful and unique but hers old fashioned that really hit the spot. It had honey syrup, something I haven't had in an old fashioned before and it was very delightful. I fully reccomend booking a visit. A lovely place for a couple or a family, fantastic food and great service. Thank you very much and thank you to our lovely waitress Alice.

I went for an evening out with my husband during the week and had a 3 course lovely meal from the 'rare treats' offer. Well worth the money. And our thanks too, to our waitress Gabi who was excellent!

Went for dinner with a friend as we both really enjoy a steak. It took 15/20 minutes for someone to even take our drinks order. We ordered both our drinks and food when a waitress finally got to us. Our drinks arrived in good time after this. We both went for a steak meal and was given our lettuce wedges around ten minutes after our drinks. However we then had to wait another 20/25 minutes for the rest of the food to follow. Why is this? When we got our food we were never given a food check back on our meals, nor were we asked if we’d like anymore drinks. Waitress was nice but seemed not to cope too well with the amount of people she was having to serve.
