Arrived and told to find a table and order once seated. Tables not cleared. Ordered tea and cake and over half an hour later tea and cake had not arrived. The restaurant did not appear busy and I can’t understand why it took so long to make a pot of tea. We asked two times where drinks were and told they were in it. Quite dreadful when tea arrived no milk and only three cups. No spoons

Bad start at Frazers tearoom. Waitress looked as though we were putting her out by arriving there and waiting to be seated. We ordered our food, and drinks (I specifically said no milk, she arrived at table with milk). When the food arrived (I ordered blt) the sandwich was thickened with salad cream so very wet salad leaves gritty and crisps soft! Hubbies Ploughmans disappointing. Four finely cut pieces of cheddar and a huge chunk of thickly cut white bread, which you needed to dislocate your jaw to try to eat..... Never going tbere again, it was poor! Not good value for money. We also noticed said waitress seated another couple at a table that had just been vacated and then moved the customers away while she cleaned it. There were only four of us in there, loads of empty tables.... What was that all about? Incase you think Im a moaner, Im not. I have never felt the need to do a review on a cafe before however this experience warrented it!

La comida era muy buena y el tes muy limpio. Recomendaría este lugar si estás en Battlesbridge y quieres algo de comer.

Brilliant food and plenty of it, can never finish the meal. Good price and lovely bits to look surrounding you that make a good conversation topic. Bit cold and drafty but better in the summer, but don't let that put you off, an extra layer of clothing and still good to go to enjoy the cakes, tea and hot food.

Stopped here on the way back from Harwich, without expecting much. We've been to Battlesbridge previously to look round the antique shops but we've never stopped to eat. Anyway the Period Tearooms caught our attention and what a lovely little place! Packed with antiques and fascinating little knickknacks (need to be careful with those elbows and handbags!). I had some absolutely delicious Carrot and Coriander Soup with a couple of lovely fresh rolls. Husband had a bacon sandwich. Service is friendly and prompt. The inside is unsuitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs as there simply isn't enough space and too many things to knock over. Also a minefield for toddlers. However there is outside seating and also what looks like a little garden shed though it's laid out in just the same way as the main area. Toilets are across the yard. Do I recommend? Yes, I want some more of that soup and to try the rest of the menu! Will I go back? Definitely

We had lunch here as a group of 4 and it was delicious. We were given a lot of sandwich for our money. The staff at lunch were great however when we went back at 4.30pm for cake we were told they had JUST stopped serving. We said their menu said 5pm closing but the girl at the counter said it stated they stopped serving at 4.30pm but we definitely didn't see this anywhere (as why would we come back if we knew!). It wasn't that they were shutting down but more the attitude/way in which they turned away people for tea and cake in such an abrupt manner when we turned up 3 minutes after closing. There were still people in the cafe at the time too. Perhaps a bit more flexibility would have made you another sale!? Such a shame as we really enjoyed lunch but I am now reluctant to go back.

Very friendly tea room of great character; furnished with antique furniture and crammed full with lots of antique nick nacks adds to the great atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is excellent with good size portions. However, the cakes are the stars of the show; we had a custard cream cake, coffee and walnut and a raspberry and white chocolate and all thought them delicious...they looked amazing too. Our broccoli and stilton soup was also extremely good and the tea came in charming china pots and cups. Will be going back soon to work my way through those cakes!

We popped in here yesterday totally unplanned, what a fantastic find. The decor is like a trip back in time, lots to look at.We hadn't planned to have a meal out but heyho the sign advertising a ploughmans was very inviting. I had said ploughmans an hubby had the crab and lobster burger and washed down with tea for two. The tea was presented with bone China teapot and cups and saucers, it tastes so much better when they come this way. My ploughmans was the best I had ever had, hubbys burger came with chips and salad. The quality was fantastic and very good value, the service was outstanding, we will definitely be returning.

Visited this lovely tearoom yesterday on a really sunny and busy Sunday morning.5 of us(also 2 dogs) were able to get seated and even though it was very busy the staff seemed to be coping very well. One staff member even noticed that i took one of the dogs to get some water around the side of the building but the bowl was empty, which he seemed to know,so even without me asking he went and filled it up and brought it to me at the table, really nice touch, sadly lacking in a lot of places nowadays, will def return.

I visited with my sister in law and we were both very pleasantly surprised. The food was lovely, well presented and most of the cups etc are beautiful bone china. The location is great, parking was easy and waitress was very good.My only dislike was all the clutter and antiques everywhere. Twice the people on the next table knocked over a lamp!Don't let this put you off as the food was excellent.

I went with my family to Period Tearooms in February; the experience was amazing. 8 of us arrived early afternoon and we were greeted in a very nice and friendly way. the cream tea was not only excellent but beautifully presented. The owner was there and is very hands on, she is extremely friendly and accommodating. We were all very satisfied with the service, the food and the all round customer experience. A big thank you, it made our day.

If you fancy stopping for an old fashioned real pot of tea & cake in authentic surroundings then this is the place for you. It is just like a time capsule which transports you back to the 1940s. Lovely place to relax & partake of some mouth watering sweet meats & other goodies & all at a very reasonable price.

This is my third visit to this lovely period style tearooms. On this occasion had hot drinks, sandwiches and a bacon roll. All food and drink is served on vintage bone china plates and cups. The presenation of the food is worth waiting for. We all enjoyed our food and the tea was lovely.I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The only downside is because of the venue and period style it can get cramped when busy. I have taken my six year old granddaughter and she enjoyed it but there is not much room for very young children.

This tearooms is set in a cluster of antique and vintage outlets and has a period ambience. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We only went for morning coffee (in lovely beakers with saucers), and were so impressed returned for lunch. Food is served in mismatched though colour-matched vintage china. An extensive and appetising menu for such a small tearooms. Some of us had food that included chips (served in paper-lined bowls). They were crisper, tastier than any others we have ever had. Food was piping hot and delicious. All the food well-presentedNo room for a slice of the delicious cakes we could spot, so we'll be back again…and again…and again!

A little gem at touristic Batttlebridge. A delightful ambience within a traditional English tearoom with bone china crockery. We had full afternoon tea served with style and charming, friendly staff. Will highly recommend it and go as often as I can. I bought a delightful Tiffany lamp, now a constant reminder. Browsing through the quirky shop afterwards ended our great day out.

Friendly staff, too small for the size of hospital & the menu needs a look at. I felt visiting family at the hospital for a week, meant the menu was too much of the same type of food. Aside from this, meals were available from Marks&Spencer but there was no where to heat them up.

I've wanted to go to this pub for ages. The reason being it was Keith flints pub. I was absolutely made up that I've photos of me outside which I'll frame. I do live far away so this has made my year being a big fan. I went inside and it was not what I expected. To be honest it has some nice charm to it. A real nice country pub. Prices are reasonable and the bar staff very friendly. I would recommend and would love to go back again.
