Love this place.the staff and food. Burger and chips is what we always have but yesterday we had a problem arise while eating and had to leave without finishing. Steve I think his name is went above and beyond to help. Thank you steve.

Popped in for a quick pizza with the family, got seated straight away and our pizza was made fresh and served extremely fast! Taste was so fresh 😋 Definitely going here for all future Pizzas! 🍕

The best bacon sandwiches and tea !!!

Came here today having been when the new fella took over. Omg what has happened! When he served us food it was lovely and lots of it. Looked forward to the same today. Not so! A woman was cooking with someone helping out with orders and waitressing. She was all over the place mixing up orders, walking round muttering to herself about what she was doing. Food was diabolical microwaved burger buns! Cheap burgers like placemats, a smidgeon of onions 3.00 for a bowl of chips that were overcooked and barely a handful. The guy used to dish up a big portion of everything. This woman was really tight with the portions. A whopping 25p extra for a can of coke making it 1.75 a can!!!. packet coffee 2.00 a cup. All in all pretty dire. Shame as i had high hopes but if the guys not there the food is awful. Wont be going back. Very bland food and not much of it at extortionate prices!!

Great food and service. Very reasonably priced. The cafe is under recent new ownership. I have been a regular visitor since the change. The full English is very good, and the owner very obliging.

Great place for breakfast, brunch or lunch. All good is freshly cooked. Will definitely be back!

Eat here with friends recently - fairly awful service, food and drinks. Coffee was weak, instant and out of a packet. Halloumi Burgers, was a burger roll with just a chunk of halloumi, no lettuce, tomato or sauce/dressing etc. Had to ask twice for coffees to be delivered. Disappointed!

Sat out side in the Sun. Cheeseburger with onions and a large mug of tea. Delicious. I 😁

Went in here today as the food smells outside were delicious-however……….I ordered food for myself and my son, was told it as well as drinks would be half hour, the waitress serving did not seem the slightest bit happy about serving us! We were happy to wait as it was a nice day and in no rush, we moved inside as customers were leaving only to be told there were no chips to go with hotdogs, only frozen avocado to go with eggy bread and freakshakes could not be made only a plain milkshake! The eggy bread came out cold, sweet potato fries needed life jackets given the amount of stale oil they were swimming in, none of the food came out together and the waitresses bless them, would have cracked a mirror if any of them had smiled! They would be better to write a policy of food until 3.30, close at 5 as they clearly did not want to be there. No gloves or hair nets are worn around the food preparation and given current situations, no ventilation within the premises. It is such a shame as this is a lovely little diner with so much prospect, but we won’t be eating here again, sorry ladies

Waited half an hour for food we ordered. When it came, they had forgotten my son's food. Waffles and pancakes were cold. Bacon wasn't streaky and was fried in old oil making everything taste horrid. Marshmallows on milkshake were stale. One of our friends ordered a burger with no gherkin but gherkin was put on burger as a garnish - a good thing she isn't allergic! When paying, I told her I wasn't happy with the service and she said 'You didn't have to wait that long!' No apology was given. Don't waste your money here. There are some amazing tearooms in Battlesbridge. Go to one of the others instead.

Went to lunch here today and was disappointed to say the least. American diner this is not is a glorified cafe at best. Staff had no customer service skills and didn't seem familiar with their own menu even though it only had about 6 items on it. Offered freakshakes they def were not this a syrupy not ice cream based chocolate milkshake with stale marshmallows on top. Food was terrible and didn't reassemble American diner food at best. My 11 year old commented on how she had had better waffles with lidl and that she didn't want to eat here as it didn't look very clean which it actually didn't. Yes they accommodated 7 of us but to be fair it would have been better for us if they hadn't of done as we would have gone and ate at one of the far nicer places to eat in Battlesbridge. Advice would be don't eat here overpriced awful food.

Went here for lunch and the waitress accommodated is well as there was 7 of us. There ends the good news. We waited a little too long for our food which may have been ok buddy sceptics they hadn’t even cooked my 8 year olds hotdog. This took over another 5 minutes. One of guests had asked for their burger plain. Yet it had a gherkin with laid upon it. All this isn’t the end of the world but how the person in charge then told us we hadn’t waited long and that there was no problems and we should appreciate how they sat a large of group of us. So not only not real representation of diner food but not of the diner customer service either. If it says streaky bacon it should be streaky bacon.

Visited this place last weekend. We was very exited in eating here. The service was prompt and the food was lovely, however your servers need a little bit more training in not placing fingers in the drinks their serve and bring serviettes to the table along with the food.

This is a small diner in an unexpected place, tucked away in the middle of the antique centre. We enjoyed the music (and did lots of dancing at our table) and the food which was fairly well priced. There is room for improvement but we left feeling happy. Chips are really nice, have a good flavour. And the portion size with the burger was a good amount unlike experienced by a previous reviewer. Eggy bread with additions of bacon and avocado was puzzling, only one slice of eggy bread but a rather generous portion of avocado, all fresh and tasty though. The milkshakes (‘freak shakes’ they were not) were nice but would of been improved by ditching the stale sweets from the top and just sticking to normal milkshakes. Pancakes tasted good too. Staff were friendly.

Worst service and food ever. Sat down, waited 45 minutes for food, it came out one at a time with a ten minute wait in between each person. No cutlery, condiments or serviettes. Then when we asked for them it took about five minutes for each item and we had to keep reminding them what we needed. Barely any chips with the meal, about 10 on one plate and all cold. Burgers raw in the middle. We were the ONLY people in the restaurant. One table of four. If it wasn’t considered stealing I would have just left. Will never eat here again.

Fantastic little place! Burger was excellent and chips cooked to perfection. Small but lovely seating overlooking Maltings Road, right in the heart of the antiques centre!

Me and my mum have been comming here since it opened. amazing food the staff are lovley, the premisis are amazing done up american dinner juke box vinyls on the wall everything is a experience. Amazing place. Homemade food at its finest.

Top place for a reasonably priced and tasty lunch. Burgers were great, as were the kids chicken nuggets- all seemed homemade and were delicious regardless. Will def come again

Visitied shelagh's on their opening day last week and was very impressed by the food and service. Had one of the homemade burgers and milkshakes, both delicious and the staff are so friendly. Proper little American diner, can't wait to go back. Thanks again x

Stoped of at shelagh's for some lunch with a friend on our day out at battlesbridge. We both had the burger and fries, they were delicious and home-made which is always a plus we also had the milkshakes which were equally amazing we would highly recommend shelagh's and we'll definitely be back again, thanks guys.
