Premier Inn Chelmsford City Centre hotel in Chelmsford

Once in a while I have to come back to stay in this lovely hotel in city center of Chelmsford because I love to return to here. The very enthousiaster Chinese girl from the reception made our stay very comfortable. I asjes for a bath and I got the bathroom with bath! Thank you! I really hope to get back soon. The rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast was just good and enough. Because we love thuis place, we decided to have lunch and dinner also in the hotel. Everything is just amazing good! I do miss in already, just one day ago. The decorations of the hotel is Insta-proof 😁. We felt safe in the hotel and the hotel only 3 min walk from the railway station. I think it’s so easy for travelling from Stansted and Southend bij Bus X10/x30. Remind: all of my debit/creditcards didn’t work so plan the bus with cash money! This place is very hit & miss. Rooms on third floor seem to have good air-conditioning - the other floors turn off constantly &/or don't blow. Staff are equally hit and miss. From some who will help you to those who just say sorry and attempt nothing. Despite being here for almost two months and at a price of £4.05 for a large lemonade tried to give me a glass under 4/5 full. The first time. Same person didn't ask me if I wanted anything (sauces etc) with mine, like she did with other diners. Obviously affected by the 1p my request to have a full glass of pop cost the company. The linguine was average. For the price it should come with salad and garlic bread. Rip off. Whereas the chef was absolutely lovely. She collected my dishes, asked me if everything was OK. And offered me an After Eight. 5☆☆☆☆☆ Also someone working tonight has bad body oddor. Either a colleague should say something or they should be more aware. Pretty sure this place has showers.

My company has a contract with premier inn so I have stayed in many of their hotels around the country. I’ve never had a bad stay but the Chelmsford city centre location stands head and shoulders above the rest. The common areas and rooms are always immaculate and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. Working away from home is never a joy but the people at Chelmsford make it a pleasure.

My room was freezing, air conditioning could not be adjusted to warm. The service from the staff was impeccable. Great location for a business 3 day workshop 15 minutes walk away.

The bathroom needs a better cleaning.

the hotel is lovely and located next to the train station and 5 minutes from town. only downside was the room smelt very damp inside.

Not bad. Had to ask reception if they could clean the shower head as pink ginger on the shower head. However they did clean it promptly. Lots of noise heard from next door and alarms thru the walls. Nice location and usually nice meals. Tv does show Gb news so that’s good!

Our room was in need of renovation. The windows in the entire hotel could not be opened.

Bar and restaurant has had a glow up, staff very attentive, especially Giulio and Paolina

We stayed for one night and were delighted with the kindness of the staff.

Great location for the train station.

Rooms have a slight smell, probably coming from the carpet. There is no proper ventilation in the room. You can't open the window and the air conditioning switches off on its own after a while. There is a ventilation grille in the bathroom but no exhaust, so all the moisture goes into the room after showering. Staff is unfriendly. The billing address had to be changed, it was a difficult task. At first they said it was impossible, then they did it. Generally very bad.

Fantastic rooms, excellent service.

Parking is a real pain here. Also if you arrive in rush hour the roads are filled with station pick ups making it impossible to bag drop. If your coming by train it's super easy. My stay was taken from average to wonderful by the lovely Chantelle who went above and beyond, thank you Chantelle

I have stayed at many premier inns all over the UK, they always offer good value for money and a good nights sleep. I have noticed that since expanding their premium tier rooms offering the cleanliness and quality of the standard rooms has slipped (experienced at several premier inns). That said, I will continue to use premier inn for price point and the convenience - if you want 4-5 star accommodation and a spa book elsewhere. The onsite restaurant was ok but not great and the bar comprised of a fridge for beer/cider with plenty of wine available too. I prefer premier inns that use near by pubs for food. The location of this premier inn is perfect if getting to Chelmsford by train. There is an amazon locker on site in reception and a co-op convenience store a 3 minute walk from the hotel. There are plenty of bars and restaurants within a 5 minute walk of the hotel too.

Usual premier inn quality but not the best I have stayed in. Room was comfortable and quiet. Communal spaces are small. No parking is a pain
