Wider and fresh food selection would add something to this café.

I went to this costa today for a meeting with a friend. Amy served us and was absolutely out of this world! Whilst sitting and drinking my coffee I noticed how Amy communicated with other customers and it was amazing to see how attentive, welcoming, and friendly she was. I will definitely be going back. 1 of the best Costas in Chelmsford. Thank you to the team for making it such a pleasant experience.

Really pleasant Costa café, the staff were friendly and very efficient with our food and drinks. The cafe was clean and tables well spaced out, chairs seemed quite new as well. I liked the fact they were playing Christmas carols instead of Christmas pop hits of the past. Car parking is camera controlled and has a three hour limit.

Always a pleasure to enter this store. I work close by but the staff are super friendly and always helpful. Grab a coffee with a smile.

Had a lovely chap named lucas serve me a black forest hot chocolate and it was absolutely divine and was a fantastic suggestion! I also had a very yummy sausage roll that certantly warmed me up on a cold day. With a luxurious salted caramel brownie on top that was very yummy! Service with a smile is always appreciated and I hope to visit again soon!

I take a cappuccino in this morning and I was the worst in my life, I don't recommend

It is Sunday mid morning and here i see really bad service. Three teenagers without a clue on how to deal with an issue with the cash register and unable or unwilling to explain what was going on. After 15 minutes witnessing the scene, i gave up. No more Costa for me. Not with this lack of service and basic communication skills. Clearly managers here sleeping big time.

Very short staffed, not their fault but they were rushed off their feet with only 2 guys working. You could see they were both fed up. Management need to sort the situation out

Knocked over a whole large black coffee today which is mildly embarrassing, but staff couldn't have been kinder and made me a new one, which they didn't have to do but was a really nice gesture. Thanks again, Adam

Coffee, food and atmosphere was great but the place is a proper dump. Rubbish and food all over the floor and seats, this place is in need of some proper management that actually cares about health and hygiene regulations!

It’s a lovely place to go to and i’ve been a customer for a few years now. The team work so hard and are always welcoming no matter how stressful the job clearly is when they’re understaffed. I have noticed recently a change in atmosphere as well as a change in the standards. A few mornings i’ve come over for the store to not be open on time. While it was extremely busy, only two staff members were working to serve customers, while another seemed to be doing something sitting down behind the coffee machine. I was made aware this is the new manager and if he was doing work or not, it came across to me and i’m sure other customers as unprofessional. The girls are so lovely and have always given great service, and i hate to see how unhappy they seem. Despite this, they’re still keeping a smile on for the customers and working hard as usual!

Friendly staff, easy parking. Would like to see gluten free options from Costa but this isn't the franchisees fault.

Cold coffee and stale cake and undertrained staff

Great Costa Coffee with plenty of room to share a coffee with friends and family. Great for families with children.

Lovely staff, lovely two young ladies there, the min I walk in they start making my coconut milk late and they know that I always want extra hot, well done girls

I would like to mention how friendly and welcoming Amy in particular was when I visited Sunday morning (12/3) it was incredibly busy but she didn’t stop smiling and chatting to customers. Customer service like that means a lot! Keep up the great work Amy! ☕️

Quite a nice Costa for hanging out it. Has parking.

He ido un sábado por la mañana, en hora punta. El local se queda pequeño, 5 empleados que no daban abasto, pero con buena actitud.

It was full of school kids so very noisy and more like a youth club. Would avoid going at that time. The manager had to tell some kids to stop running as it was not a playground.

Have been coming here on and off for a few years and always enjoyed sitting down with my wife and having coffee and something to eat. However, have recently found that it is looking very tired and run down and in need of a refurbish. A pity as it is a popular venue.

Fab drinks and service but environment could do with a bit of tlc as a busy place and front of house reflects that but don't it it put you off as I said drinks and food and service staff all great 👍

Nice quality of food/drink but 3 delivery orders in a row, we’ve had multiple missing items.

It isn’t hard to listen to a customer. For starters I had to repeat my order 3 times. No buggy. I would prefer that so my order is correct …. HOWEVER My order : Skinny (skimmed milk) Wet (no foam at all) Latte Childrens temperature (100 degrees please) What I got: (after reminding the barista to put down the green milk and use ‘skinny’) Loads of foam More like a cappuccino Scolding hot There was NO attention to any part of my drink. Surely, it’s not me! Just LISTEN, ask questions, if you don’t understand. It’s simple.

Popped in here for a catch up and a coffee with a friend. Was nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy the sun with a good cup of coffee

Unfortunately I picked a day when, due to equipment failure, hot food could not be provided. Having said that, the food on offer was up to the usual standard, the coffee was hot and the staff gave the required level of service. One good point was that I was not asked "is that with milk?" when ordering my black Americano which happens all too often at other Costa outlets.

Very slow service, only 2 members of staff in but only 1 serving customers. Complete mess inside, milk cartons and food stored on the floor behind the counter. Only takeaway cups available as none had been washed up. Tables hadn’t been cleared and those without cups on hadn’t been wiped. Floor was a complete mess and the bin wasn’t in use. Worst costa I’ve ever visited.

Very rude member of staff, dirty tables, used cups everywhere and piled up rubbish in corners. Avoid.

Ordered a coffee, got it, drunk it, disposed of the cup. Exactly what I expected.

Dirty and Dreadful. The floor looked like it hasn't been cleaned for days. No cleaning staff. Just look at the picture of the sofa. Awful. We left the drink and walked out

I bought cappacino large in 2, 3 occation, but not really large instead 3/4 of cup. Bit disappointed. They are hurry to go to next costomer. Staffs need to make sure, thier products are value for the money the costomer paying.

Costa, as always, very rarely let's me down, but on this occasion I felt awkward dealing with the server who I felt either didn't understand me or was in robot mode. It did not detract me from enjoying the goodies purchased in store.

The Assistant Manager and another lady (whose name i don't know - but she cycles to work!), work so hard!! I've been visiting this Costa regularly during the pandemic and I'm always impressed by their work ethic, they remember my order and always acknowledge regular customers and make time for them. I've worked in hospitality and I'm in awe of the amount they juggle, it's a really popular Costa and during the Costa at 50 offer, I've never seen so many customers! They handled it so well. Thank you for being a friendly, reliable constant over the past year!

It's a great costa , loads of choices

Arrived to celebrate the 50 years and abruptly told the manager had decided to close early. I understand if it's been a busy bad day but no need to be rude. Sadly we never got out coffee.

Ordered from Uber Eats, they missed out a whole drink. Line busy so couldn't even get through to correct the mistake. Very disappointing experience, would not recommend ordering from here.

Nice shop. Good free parking (3 hours).

Based on my visit today I would have to say I will not be riding back in a hurry, firstly there was a delivery which was brought in through the front door (service area visible at the back) and the driver was not very polite and almost ten over people, secondly I order 2 standard drinks ( Terry's hot chocolate) only to have 3 other people receive their orders after mine, not sure why they were given priority. Thirdly the quality of the so called special Terry's hot chocolate was nothing other than a normal hot chocolate. Not sure if against the lockdown rules but there were no seats outside when a local non branded store has?? Know where I will be trying next time.

Covid visit, still got a table, plenty of hand sanitiser in the store and tables wiped before being seated.

As ALLWAYS staff very friendly and courteous. We WILL be BACK

I wouldn't feel comfortable sitting inside to drink or eat as I don't feel that social distancing is adequate in this store.

Lovely costa one of my favourites. Staff very friendly. Surrounding nice and comfy. Plenty of seating inside and out. And best of all the coffee and food are great.

Good service from both the staff that served me & good coffee & food. However when one of the staff members asked the manager a question he proceeded in a long condescending maths leason instead of telling her the answer. This not the way you should treat your staff especially not in front of customers.

This place has changed from the worst Costa coffee shop ever to a good one. Seriously, 6 months ago this place was very bad but with the new manager in charge it all changed to a good Costa branch that's why I am changing my review to 3 stars instead of one to be fair!

As I live locally we decided to have a nice little walk to the coffee shop. The staff are very friendly and the inside is very clean and I feel that they take extra care and attention when making all their drinks of all the coffee shops in Chelmsford I do feel that these are one of the best.

Nice modern cafe, and good range of foods available.

The coffee isnt bad here .. but they could do with speeding up a fair bit .. the service is very slow here on a regular basis compared to many other Costa outlets I have been to .. It is well equipped .. There is outdoor seating .. sofas inside .. a sectioned off playpen/kids area inside .. they have a dog bowl outside so if you have been dog walking around the fields of Beaulieu and want to grab a coffee then your dog can refuel too.

Ok just a pity that by the time I drunk my coffee I was back on the road before I realised my coffee wasn't decaff😬

The staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful. Trouble is, they never have anyone cleaning the tables. The floor doesn't look clean either. I expect staff are at a minimum and it's a busy place.
