This amazing gem of an Italian is run and owned by an italian and the quality of food and wine showed, good service great food .
We found out that you can get great coffee and food during the day also as they owned Poliano that was over the road so we will be back again definitely .
Such a lovely friendly country pub. However, the food has gone downhill recently and we were all disappointed with the quality, portion sizes and prices of the food. Such a shame as it used to be one of our favourite places.
Last year I was doing hospitality and catering level 2 and I was waitering in this restaurant so I know what it’s like. Then I thought why don’t I just see what’s it’s like as a customer? Came today and OMG! I love it.
Food was brilliant! I ordered a scotch egg (it was really filling but it was lovely), sweet and sour pork with fried rice (this meal combined brilliantly!), and profiteroles (the choux pastry was good and cream and chocolate was amazing).
The service was good but as I learnt last year how to do posh waitering you have to serve from the left and clear from the right and you have to do de-crumbing e.t.c. They didn’t do de crumbing or the serve and clear as they forgot. I understand that.
But even though I absolutely loved it (it did feel awkward as I was a waiter before here but you can get used to it! 😂)
Definitely will come again!
Thank you princes room restaurant. And well done to the waiter! 😁😁
Ironic name, since they don't actually serve coffee. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I ordered an americano and a decaf americano but was told there was only instant coffee, and asked if this was ok... the Italian half of me died a little bit that day!
I had just arrived back in the UK from Mauritius so this was a real plummet back to earth. Dirty table on arrival, and basically ignored for a long time until my partner came in and sat with me. Perhaps because I obviously wasn't a local. I imagine if you are a local and just want a cuppa and some 'value' grub, and don't mind slumming it, you'll survive... Not my cuppa tea tho.
We had been looking forward to trying the ROK kitchen and were not disappointed. We received a very nice welcome and were quickly seated. The ROK is only small but there are several tables and a couple outside. The menu caters for both meat and non meat eaters. We settled for loaded katsu curry fries with chicken and a chicken rice bowl with the ROKs home made Gochujang hot sauce, lovely! All the food was delicious. Theres tofu and quorn onions for non meat eaters. There's also a great selection of drinks including ROK lager brewed by the Brentwood Brewery and other local beers. Prices were reasonable for both food and drinks.
Really enjoyed it and will return.

Waited ages, people chatting and ignoring me, I was the only person in the queue in a quiet cafe. Finally left with no coffee after waiting 5 mins plus - pretty rubbish
Earlier in year we held my mums 'wake' all staff were caring/helpful/understanding.We could have balloons/photos/films show..the buffet was very good, the rooms gave it a 'softer' feel . for a sad occasion.lowers on the tables. most guests complemented us on our choice/poshness of all ,,, we had been for meals before, & I'm sure would be a good hotel to stay in ….so thankz to all it would have pleased my Mum
We sometimes stop here when we are about to go on our travels to get a decent coffee , the staff have been there for years and are really pleasant it’s not a sit down although there is a table you could stand at .
We absolutely love this Chinese restaurant, the app is a great way to order and you can earn loyalty point's and get money off your order.
Great food, large portions and excellent service.
