The best restaurants in Toddington Central Bedfordshire East of England

Lovely pub with character. Dog friendly. A bit off the beaten track. We came here to meet friends for lunch. Service was a bit slow. But the food was tasty and there was a good variety including specials. We thought it was odd offering cottage pie as a pie, when there is no pastry involved. It had lovely thick gravy. The spice parsnip soup was about 2 on the chilli scale.

We brought our sister for afternoon tea whose birthday is approaching. It was a shame that despite the regal surroundings and beauty of this hotel a the tea was underwhelming in many aspects. The sandwiches didn’t seem that fresh and had strange fillings!!! We were given a very small table and had to constantly rearrange the crockery. The sandwich ‘tree’ couldn’t fit on the table so they had to bring another table last minute!!! The cakes didn’t seem that fresh either. The service was poor. The girl took our plates away while my sister was still finishing her sandwich. The waitress was nice but not that well trained and the whole experience had no ambience atall

Whilst the price of fish is eye wateringly high now, the cod we've had the past few times has been amazing.

Visited the star for dinner. Food was hot and fresh and very tasty! Good value for money too - some great deals on the main menu. Staff were exceptionally accommodating and attentive. Excellent customer service skills and refreshingly very smiley, thank you Georgia and Chaney! Will definitely be returning soon, highly recommend!

A nice country pub. A small garden with play equipment in for children.

This is my second visit in the last few weeks; in-fact I drove 45 mins just for cake & tea. I can’t really comment on the main food however an afternoon cuppa with tea or coffee definitely!! It’s so good to go somewhere & receive a slice of cake that is a nice big portion. The home made cakes are so delicious & worth a huge slice! Price wise reasonable by today’s standards. All the sweet treats on offer are also of a large portion size so once again perfect. The atmosphere in the restaurant is fairly pleasant although I would tend to go after 2pm so the lunch rush has subsided. I have read on other reviews comments about staff being miserable & rude. I have experienced this too; this is the only thing that sort of lets the experience down; only a little & it’s only a couple of staff serving who don’t seem too happy or whatever it is!!! It’s still worth a visit if you like cake or other sweet treats!

I think this place might have a new owner or management. The friendly familiar staff were not there and only 2 people behind the counter. 1 was being trained, so despite the fact there were no queues, it still took longer than when there were 3 or 4 people waiting.

I've eaten here twice. First time was horrendous - Expensive, micro-waved HARD (vegan) burgers! complete rip off. TODAY I happened to stop at these services again whilst venturing up't North - and decided to give them another go! Large fries are small. More expensive than before £10.47 for a vegan royal meal. The royal patty was hard, They didn't even cut the sandwich. 3-4 hours later I had food poisoning! NEVER AGAIN. Complete SH*T hole. If you want food poisoning - eat here! How Burger King has gone down hill! Report being sent to the HEAD OFFICE - this is a franchise outlet me thinks! Should have sold it to Dumb and Dumber! You couldn't pay me to eat here! Environmental health need to pay a visit!

Food was well presented and hot, but delivered about 30 minutes after the requested time.

Cashier asked 3 times if I wanted a hot latte, then proceeded to give me an iced one, as I had already been waiting a while I decided to go with it. Also, the price label for the belgian brownie said £2.95 and she repeatedly tried to charge us £3.15. Awful customer service, and overall a disappointing experience, will not be returning.

Friendly accessible and hot food. Quick service. Also had delivery from here before, was perfect 👌 recommended.

We stopped for a quick lunch. The Eat & Drink Co.(EDC) was right beside Costa and they seemed to share staff (same uniforms) who were friendly, and helpful, and we actually thought we were ordering from Costa initially.There was a limited range of food available and we we opted for beef and potato soup which was actually a thick vegetable soup with beef. Not quite what we had expected but it was quite satisfying, and all right for a quick motorway stop.

Bad from start to finish Looking for a quick meal at the services after a long journey. Never again! 1. No receipt from the self service kiosk 2. The eating area was disgusting - food and rubbish all over floor and tables. I dread to think how bad the kitchen was if the customer area is so bad. It was a disgrace. 3. Bins overflowing. No idea when they were last emptied or if anyone cared. 4. Service was poor 5. Food was awful and went in the bin. It was super greasy and tasted like stale oil. How can anyone accept running a restaurant in such a state. No pride, no standards and no hope for Burger King. Worst experience in years.
