Eat & Drink Co. in Central Bedfordshire

We stopped for a quick lunch. The Eat & Drink Co.(EDC) was right beside Costa and they seemed to share staff (same uniforms) who were friendly, and helpful, and we actually thought we were ordering from Costa initially.There was a limited range of food available and we we opted for beef and potato soup which was actually a thick vegetable soup with beef. Not quite what we had expected but it was quite satisfying, and all right for a quick motorway stop.

Toddington Why did I go back when Poplars is so close? 567386811 this place has been so bad for so long and as such i started going somewhere else nearby which is absolutely amazing, so fresh as well as clean along with lovely caring staff. So why did i stop here again??? when will i learn???? terrible food, terrible service. I see the response to previous reviews saying they will pass it on to the onsite management team and so why is it still so bad??? do something or don't, its up to you but im popping back to my other retreat where I know it's great and you should all do the same

What a derisory Service. What an insult to a hungry traveller. Serving breakfast. One miserable person devoid apparently of charm or personality serving up the worst produce I think I have ever tasted anywhere. The bacon and fried slice of bread were so salty and rancid with oil as to make you think you were actually sucking the salt water out of your swimming trunks after a day on the beach. The black pudding was stale and tasted as if it had been cooked some time last week. The bap on which the bacon was placed was stale. I actually think it is an art form to make even a tomato taste awful. This poor excuse for a food outlet is located next to a costa which is obviously a franchise as staff seem to work on both sections. I was given a refund without any hassle but to be honest how could they refuse given the shameful food they sell. My advice to anyone feeling hungry is to avoid this sorry excuse for a cafe otherwise you can add illness and discomfort to your hunger. Stick to the coffee!!!

It seemed there's a choice of Burger King or this place at a Toddington Services. The choice of food was greatly reduced because the hot plates were broken, so we could have fish and chips or curry. We'd planned on getting fish and chips anyway so this wasn't a problem. Unfortunately when it came it was awful, dry chips, fish that was so over cooked it was like rubber and so much thick greasy batter on it. No peas or lemon as advertised on the picture. Cost was £6.99 each. Soft drinks were £2.49. Wish we'd had a Burger King instead.

Stopped here last night 7/9/17 ( truck stop ) rolled in about 7.00pm went to pay for parking £26 with a £10 meal voucher , all good so far ! Redeemable in the restaurant or Burger King or Costa . Went back to my truck to take my tacho card out and went back up to get something to eat from the restaurant was about 7.30 only to be told it was shut ! There was food still left in the serving tins , ended up with a chicken burger ! You would think when trucks are rolling in and they were still coming in well after me they would be able to get a decent meal upto around 9.00 , at least if they are not you could get the girl in WH Smiths to tell you when the restaurant shuts ! After that disaster I went for a shower , there was no way I was stepping foot in there even with flip flops on they absolutely filthy ended up having a good wash in the sink and I wasn't the only one . About time you upped your game Toddington southbound !

This place is a joke. We had the meat pie over cooked enable. The fish was OK. Cannot fault the mineral water. The place is a shambles even forgot to ask for payment

Popped in for breakfast one morning and wished I hadn't, Very quiet with only a couple in front of me, I thought the single person serving would have been pretty fast and I would be served without delay. Unfortunately the people in front wanted nothing more than two slice of toast each with some beans on top. Watching the assistant put two slice of bread on the chain driven toaster then stand as they did the full circle, plate up the toast, walk to the servery for beans, then putting the plate down to keep warm, walk back and repeat the exercise for the next plate - phew was it a tiring experience. By the time she had got their drinks and payment, I really don't know why I waited. My turn came and it was a Full English. Well I won't go into the standard of food - not Michelin Star, more like Michelin Sausage. Hash Browns were difficult to cut and chewy, the fresh tomato was slightly larger than a cherry tom and the only things that were reasonable was the bacon (covered in white protein spots) and the beans. About 10 minutes from arrival to reaching the checkout and only one couple in front - heaven help us if it had been busy.

Tired, sickly-looking food, sweating in serving dishes. No pricing information. Inexperienced staff ignoring waiting customers who have then have to be coached through the serving process. Filthy tables, every single one still covered in the remains of other families' meals. When a cleaner showed up I watched her sweep crisps from a chair onto the floor and then wipe over a table surface with only her hand before walking off. And for this Broken Britain experience they charge £5 for a microwaved jacket potato and £2.50 for a bottle of coke. Treating their clients with contempt - just not good enough!

Plenty of parking - Staff very friendly and welcoming - Bar area very pleasant and felt homely - Quiz night was great fun - Breakfast was very good and plenty of it, from orange juice to coffee, cereal, bread and a full English in the pleasant breakfast area. BUT as far as the room is concerned, the curtains were faded and tatty, cases had to be left on the floor because there was no case stand and the beds were so old and uncomfortable. One of the beds had a duvet wrapped around the mattress under the bottom sheet! I am sorry to say that those were the two worst nights I have ever spent. The focus should be on the quality of the beds in a B&B - Please buy new ones. You've spoilt a wonderful ship for an aputh of tar!

A typical motorway services, usually quite busy. Plenty of choices burger king, costas, m and s food . Quite expensive and busy.

Rubbish food. Cold food . Staff who do not care . Overpriced enable food. Ask for mustard. Looked as I had insulted the staff member

Returning to the South West from visiting family in the North East, stopped off for breakfast and a toilet stop. Poor services had Greggs, Costa and Burger King opened as we were leaving. we used Costa, good coffee and had toast and a toasted sandwich, disappointing that they mark up the prices, however you do expect that to happen as its part of the motorway services.

Rude staff, breakfast food horrible and old like had been sat out all night this was at 7 in morning would have thought be fresher. Even hot drink wasn't good paid £12 for a breakfast and tea n ate 1 sausage n left rest including tea. Yuck

We ate freshly cooked fish and chips and half a chicken both with choice of veg or salad. The salad was a nice portion. Used AA discount.

We stopped here and as we had a discount of 20 % with our AA Membership as it was a Moto Service Station and that ensued that the prices were more reasonable than they would have been normally The fish was cooked fresh and the chicken was a large half of chicken which was apparently very tasty The service was good even though there was only one lady on the counter who was also cooking the food as well The coffee was costa and was standard coffee The tables were cleaned frequently which was good Overall good here although if we paid full prices then it would have been quite a lot for what we had

Its a services food was reasonable and reasonably priced with an english breakfast at £7.50. In terms of services are this was a good place to eat but in terms of a standard restaurant or cafe it is just average.

Stopped at Toddington for an early breakfast on way down to London for morning meeting

5 people were waiting to be served from the Breakfast Buffet no one behind the counter. Lady walked past with a clipboard no visual contact with the people waiting... she went up to the till section.... so I went and spoke to her.... and said "does your clipboard say anything about customer service.... she looked a bit surprised and eventually someone came to serve....my background entirely in the industry....good customer service costs nothing just a bit of training

Used this cafe for sunday breakfast before journeying back north.

We had a coffee and a tea as a break on our way down the Motorway. The price was £5.27 which is fairly typical of the prices charged in motorway service areas. It was somewhere to stop, but it was no more than average.

Wanted the chicken and chips, the price board on the front said "have the healthier option of a jacket potatoe". So I asked for the jacket potatoe instead of chips they said that I had to pay extra and that it was not instead of chips. Misleading point of sale or bad management briefing of current promotions either way I was made to feel that I was unreasonable, was told the till will not allow the offer so I was wrong - great logic it seems. Took my business to Costa, where they know what they are doing.

I was very tired and nearly nodding at the wheel and so this was a must stop. After a 40 minute snooze we went inside to use the amenities and have a bite to eat. We chose this place as there was an offer on for a brunch meal and the price was reasonable for a service station. The food was 'thrown' onto our plates but it was tasty and hot. Best price in the place. Tables were a little tacky to the touch as are others in other places but overall it was fine. Just a word of warning ... don't overstay your 2 hour limit as your number plate is photographed as you enter and leave so you could get a hefty fine if you overstay your welcome.
