Burger King in Central Bedfordshire

We waited ages for our food approximately 10-20 minutes and the food was cold and the service was appalling and the tables weren’t being cleaned, we will not be coming back

Superb, this old BK has been sat up the high street for as long as I can remember, 30+ years , I came here before seeing lion king at the cinema as a child whenever that was and maybe even "The Mask" Roll on 20+ years and it's the same great BK it's always been , it's had a few refurbs over the years remember when BK adopted "I'm loving it" and "have it your way" slogan, that's been and gone this place has stayed current with the ever changing BK outfits, anyways never the less , the service is just as okay as its always been and the food is just as great as always retaining that BK signature flavour. Come here for a true Burger King experience.

Went there to get some burgers. Service was a bit slow. Considering it's a Motorway service station, should be a bit faster for a stop and go area. Food was OK. Staff were good and helpful.

Been waiting 20 minutes since ordering and no sign of the food. The atmosphere is angry customers frustrated with the wait and wanting to get back on the road.

I mean, it's Burger King. So you'rer not expecting much. But the food was stone cold. Buns weren't toasted. Cheese wasn't melted. Tables were dirty. Floors grubby. Understaffed, so had already waited ages. Really was the worst burger I've ever had in my life. Just avoid.

We had a bit of a wait for food but Ayan was super helpful and friendly, great customer service!

How did this get 2.4 stars?! The few surly staff amble lazily around instead of serving the customers who queued for ages to order their food on the only 2 working order points. Then when the lukewarm £12 burger meal eventually arrives half an hour later, having to eat it on the most disgustingly dirty tables in the freezing cold seating area. Please do yourself a favour and eat at KFC, M&S or anywhere else other than this god forsaken dump.

Completely put me off Burger King for our entire life. This is our experience for a situation where there were more staff than customers. Ordering at least 4 interactive ordering system were not working after asking the member of staff at an empty tile told us to use the useless system to order our food. In our time there for around 20 minutes, no one cleaned tables or floor. Tables were dirty and the worst I have every seen, lazy staff, and unfriendly staff due to lack of customer interface training or complete arrogance of the member of staff serving. We visited on the 21/03/2024 and the the food was disappointing. We ordered 2 triple burgers with cheese, 2 x large fries (cold), larger 20 chilli cheese bites , 1 coke/1 water for just over £30 for 2. This place is horrendous and unhygienic Undercover representatives of the franchise needs to sort this out. If this is the standard customers are expecting then others competitors will surpass BK. Shame..

Nothing wrong with the restaurant but why don't they accept the Burger King app. I read the sign said no offers from the app so I asked if I could at least scan my qr code for loyalty points "We don't do app here" as the vashier points at the sign. Well that's not what the signs says, I made it clear I wasn't reading an offer and I got a repeat of the first line.

So cold, even staff worn jackets 😂 service was fine but generally dirty and so cold.

Got the BBQ Memphis Chicken large meal X 2. One for me and mrs’s. Very disappointing, burger was decent but a slither of bbq SAUSE was given on both burgers which made it very dry overall. Ashame as I had the same one on serviced up to Manchester and was sublime.

The most disgusting place I've ever been. The food is expensive, not delicious. We didn't get what we ordered🤯😡. + they even gave us a drink less, even though we paid for it.... The meat was burnt but raw inside. Inedible. I got the fries ice cold😤. I do not recommend to anyone!!!!😩

I ordered a plain double cheeseburger and upon reviewing the receipt I found out they had not fulfilled my request as this could have ended up in medical emergency this is unacceptable! With poor and slow service I am ashamed.

If you are familiar with the taste of Burger King, then I have nothing to say about it. Burger King cooks grilled cutlets and it feels like burgers. I think it's a good place to take away. It will be difficult to sit with friends and family in a good atmosphere.

We were not planning on eating here but due to traffic delays we had no choice. It was really quiet so thought it would be quicker than KFC as they were busy. How wrong were we. It was 8:30/8:45 on a Friday night and it was not busy. The tables were dirty and needed a clean. The bins are overflowing. We found 1 clean table in the corner round the back. Thinking about it now there is a reason why Burger king was quite and KFC was busy..... Should have gone to KFC. I'm annoyed that I didn't take pictures to show you how disgusting the place was. The food is overpriced for what we got. Won't be coming back.

The restaurant itself is a dump and the staff are swanning around like they’re on holiday. Service extremely slow. The exact opposite of “fast food”. Don’t waste your money or time. They should be embarrassed.

Waited 15 minutes for 2 x whopper meals, and it wasn't even busy. Plenty of staff on shift but slow and inaficient. When the food did come the portions were small and the burgers were cold. The manager needs to go back to BMT school and learn how to efficiently run their staff This is the worst burger king I've ever had the displeasure of visiting

Food took forever. Staff clearly incapable of their jobs and watched 4 other people given wrong orders and complain before ours. Our order had the vegan nuggets missing so I asked straight away. Was given a bag of 6 nuggets with a V on the bag. I ate one of them to find out these were not vegan. I am very intolerant to meat and was poorly. Also was only given 4 onion rings instead of 6. Will be attempting to take this further.

The restaurant was very dirty, with rubbish all over the empty tables. Our order did not come up on the waiting screen, so I went to the counter to check they had the order through. The scruffy staff, didn’t appear to bothered by my query. Eventually (30 minutes later….!!!!), the “fast food” arrived. Horrendous service, the staff clearly had no idea what they were doing. In the time I was there, they managed to get food to a grand total of 3 people….there were many waiting….POOR. Definitely stay on the M1, and get off at Newport Pagnell services.

God what a terrible place. Food bad, produced incredibly slowly… Just one employee working at 8pm in the evening. Avoid at all costs!

Absolutely terrible and rude service on the evening 09/12/23. 4 orders ahead of me in the queue and it still took over 20 minutes to receive the food and it was only 2 meals, however after realising the 2 servers were watching something on the phone whilst serving it made more sense why it took so long. Out of the 4 orders ahead I saw 3 people return, wasn’t sure why at the time but now I do. When we got back to the car my large Fanta was only half filled, 1 bag of chips were missing and the Smokey Chicken legend was not “crispy” but instead soggy and cold.

It took them half an hour just to give me a chicken royal meal. Also when I ordered a chocolate milkshake they gave me a vanilla one. Further more for the loaded fries the did not give me any forks and said they had non. No forks at a fast food place. Disgraceful

I had to wait 15 minutes for a whopper meal. So much for fast food. Then when it arrived it was lukewarm. Inside the Burger King restaurant was also freezing. Wish I had gone to one of the other places here

Fifthly and freezing cold. Incompetent staff getting several peoples orders wrong several times including mine. Staff think a vanilla milkshake is a chocolate milkshake just because they pushed the 'chocolate' button. Even though it was clear that the chocolate had run out and the milkshake was white, not brown.

Very slow self ordering machines. Slow service and food is like warm at best. Why leave one person serving on the front? Not fair on the staff and leaves massive ques putting the staff under stain. Place is dark and dingy, Aircon is ice cold making the place freezing and also not clean with rubbish laying around. Burger king sort it out 🤦🏼‍♂️

Service awful. The girl taking the order, obviously not happy in her work. My partner asked another for salt and he just threw it on the counter. Who trains and manages these staff members. It's just a burger meal on our travels. It should have an element of pleasantness.

I very rarely leave reviews whether positive (unless exceptionally good), or negative (unless really bad), and this is one of those occasions where it was a particularly poor experience that others should be aware of. First, customer service: unfriendly and unhelpful staff at the desk from the get go, which pushes you in the direction of the self-ordering screens. Lots of (other) already disgruntled customers ahead of us; I wasn’t sure why until we were also waiting over 20 minutes for our order (in a fast food restaurant). Perhaps they also wanted water and BBQ sauce, neither of which were available/in stock. On looking for a table, not a single free table had been cleaned, and when someone was sent out to clean the tables they just brought a cloth to wipe them down; no sanitizer spray used, so basically just wiped all the dirt and grime from the previous tables all over the next ones. Having waited 21 minutes, you would imagine that the food would be fresh and piping hot. Not the case. Burger tasted fine, but was luke warm. Fries ok, but I’ve never paid so much such for a tiny portion of fries, even at a fine-dining restaurant. Absurd. Plenty of staff on shift, though no one really seemed to be managing the restaurant and they all came across a bit despondent.

Go KFC don't waste your time or money here. Wrong order received, 25 minute wait for it, then another 15 minutes for the correct order.

Discusting, over an hour waited and ended up with a refund along with about 20 other customers. Totally understaffed and under pressure to reduce hours.. Sadly at the expense of any service. To add salt in the wound, 1 member of staff started randomly serving the customers who shouted the loudest, litterally passing them whatever food was on the pass.. Just awful.

Absolute zero! £6.25 for such a thing? It's a joke. Service 0*, they're moving like on holiday, barely. It's not even about this place, it's everywhere. Cup of tea is bigger than them so called burgers

Visited the burger King at the services and waited 20mins for my food...it is meant to be fast food. At least if they bothered to tell people to set their expectations that would have been something...but nothing they blindly get customers to wait without even an apology

Management obviously don't care, drinks weren't fizzy, workers weren't trained properly, very understaffed so obviously they don't pay enough or treat their workers with respect and dignity, so don't go here until they actually fix their problems, because its just disappointment.

Definitively not ‘fast food’ as described. Took about thirty mins for our order. A whole bunch of people before us just abandoned ship and left without their order.

Food was terrible and at £34 for 2 adults 2 kids may as well have gone to a proper restaurant. The hottest part of my meal was the drink.

None of the kiosks were working and no tills were open. After having to ask them to open a till (they were really slow about this), we waited 40 minutes to receive our food. It was not worth the wait; the outer coating of my patty wasn’t crispy at all, the chips weren’t warm, the coke tasted ridiculously diluted and was not cold. On top of that, tables were dirty and staff seemed completely unbothered.

Served by an employee named Zulaikah. It was a very unpleasant and rude service.Burger King should train their employees so they can deliver better service. Surprisingly this branch already have really bad reputation. Not going back there

Terrible service from Burger King, KFC and Costa. 30mins wait for order, then it was an incomplete order with food items missing. Tables not kept clean upon customers leaving. Worst thing is it wasn't particularly busy.

We spent £55 on a food order for half it to be wrong. No sauces on the burgers, missed drink off kids meal. Then to be questioned about the drink, disgusting customer service and spoiled an otherwise enjoyable day. Can highly recommend never stopping here! Use KFC!!

Chicken Royale, chips and tea, chips are only enough for a small child. Very expensive, better at McDonalds. Service station itself is very dirty, stinks outside in car park, will avoid in future.

Just ordered my Food to find out THEY DONT TAKE BANK NOTES FROM SCOTLAND. Then the cheeky members of staff said they couldn’t understand me. Treated as if Scotland isn’t part of the Uk. The manager very very rude. Totally embarrassing in front of other customers

Kiosks kept stopping and orders not going through. Not the staff's fault at all, no worries there. However there was a distinct lack of apparent purpose with the staff doing anything, food took an age to arrive and staff seemed to just enjoy taking their time.

Worst experience. The cashier was filling cups for entertainment and placing them on the counter instead of making my burger. I ordered a burger. Not a meal, A BURGER that's it. We waited 15 minutes but we would of waited 40 at that rate if we didn't ask. There was 3 workers and 9 customers waiting. There were burgers stacking up yet she didn't pick them up from the machine. Do not go here.

Other BK are ok. But this one is very bad. Ordered a meal that came cold. Chips overcooked and the coffee tasted like warm milk, almost no coffee. We were too tired to come back and say something, we ordered take away. It was a Sunday at 8:30 pm and it was quite a busy place, however that shouldn't be an excuse for such bad food.

The concept of fast food never made it to this burger king restaurant. I could have sat down in a fancy restaurant and ordered 2 courses by the time our order came through. That should be no reflection on the two poor staff having to deal with the orders, how they can justify such understaffing at a motorway services at 6pm on a Friday is baffling. These two clearly also had no time to then go around and tidy up after the customers who don't want to use the bin, leaving much of the area very unclean.

I think I have seen sloths move faster. Staff appeared to have a total disregard for the job. I know, it’s probably minimum wage work at a motorway services, but really, could you not even consider the people who are waiting? Probably should have gone to M and S. maybe over priced but at least I can get something to eat in the same decade.

Out of all the tables, there was only 2 clean tables that wasnt full of rubbish, or extremely unclean. Even the counter to where the staff are putting food out on yo, had no sauces, no salt, when asked we got them thrown at us. Awful manger, awful staff, only person doing there job was the person cooking as the food was the only good bit. Wouldn't recommend this place at all, avoid, the KFC next to it is clean and tidy can't comment on there food. Do not use. Bad burger King. We even witnessed a customer clean there own table before sitting down with there family.

If anyone at Mcdonalds was worried that Burger King were doing breakfast, I am happy to tell you, you're OK. cold bacon with a "egg" based egg on a stale, dry sweet bun, no taste, no style, no thankyou. Over priced very poor. Not again for sure.

It took ages for the food to be ready and they even ran out of ice so we had a luke warm soft drink! Food is also all over the floor and tables.

Absolutely filthy! Floor spills not cleaned up, bins overflowing. If I’d have spotted them sooner wouldn’t have eaten there. Waited 20 minutes to be served to receive warm and flat soft drinks and mediocre food for a scandalous price! Complained and was told ice machine not working! Then put a sign up and let people know! No replacement, alternative or refund offered. Not acceptable! Waste of £60! 😡

Very poor. Place was packed and there clearly wasn't enough staff available. It took nearly an hour for us to get our food.

Ordered on the kiosk within 5 minutes then headed to the collection centre and waited 20 minutes for our food whilst 3 orders on screen kitchen staff were talking instead of making orders.terrible.

Stopped in on a Saturday night at about 8:30 and it was really quiet - probably because of the reviews! A bit shocked at the prices (almost £7 for a bacon double cheeseburger with no drink or fries!) but we don't go to BK's usually so have no reference for comparison. Food came fairly quickly as it was so quiet. Service was fairly efficient but couldn't summon a smile even when we thanked him. The food was exceptionally greasy - there was a puddle of grease in the burger wrapper and it just poured out when you took a bite - and barely warm. I don't understand why the burger wasn't hot when it was supposedly just made - I think they must have a stack of cooked patty's somewhere waiting to go in buns and haven't bothered to keep them warm. It was edible but certainly not worth the money and I wouldn't buy food from here again. Disappointing.

Got the California burger and was awful. What made my experience worse is I waited 19 minutes for my order, and it wasn't even busy. Never again.

I have never made a bad review before. But I feel I must regarding the burger King on Toddington service station, the place was dirty, there was rubbish on most of the tables, the bins were overflowing and rubbish on the floor, there was a drink that was spilt all over one of the tables and all over the floor. It took at least half an hour for someone to empty the bins, but still left the rubbish on the floor, they eventually wiped the liquid off the floor and when we eventually left, the tables were still full rubbish and dirty, it was disgusting and none of the staff showed any signs of concern about the conditions, and to top it off the food was like warm.

Cold food very long wait and only 3 staff , they need more staff come on BK managers. Warm food this visit but still under staffed.

Burger surprisingly tasty but the coffee was just hot brown water. Disinterested staff and grim surroundings. Too tired and hungry to go anywhere better.

Burger king gone downhill since the last time I went

These services in general are bad. Any place you go the people who work there are not bothered about anything. This place most of the times is closed in the mornings or serves you food from last night 🤮🤮 (jokes. But tastes like it)

Came in early Sunday morning on the way up north. The restaurant was fairly empty. We ordered on the self-serve kiosks and headed over to the collection area. After 15 mins we finally received our order (I was almost about to go and approach someone as it was taking so long). The breakfast item we’d got read really good and looked relatively decent, was was honestly TASTELESS. The egg was watery, the bun was stale and dry. The only half decent thing was the bacon. For £17 for two meals and some hash browns, it was pretty disappointing, and we won’t be stopping here again on our next journey.

Utilitarian and not very clean .. lacklustre staff who clearly did not want to be at work just about managed the basics. Expensive food even for a motorway services and no napkins or salt or pepper .. pretty poor job Burger King. If you've read this far go to one of the other concessions on site .. they could not be as poor as this.

After a lovely 2 hour drive into our 6 hour journey home we stopped here at 8.30pm to get my children some food. After waiting 50 minutes for 2 kids meals I was so appalled. The lack of service was shocking, staff members ignoring myself and partner. Then to be served a rock hard burger and freezing chips that all went in the bin 🙃 two hungry kids and another hour added on the journey. Won’t stop here again I wouldn’t recommend
