The best restaurants in Sudbury South Babergh East of England

Great to see this place open again as it’s in such a great location. Staff friendly and attentive but not pushy . Food was enjoyed by everyone and of a very good quality . Will definitely return .

Lunch. Not an extensive lunch menu - basically 3 choices. All £17.95. So need to be good! Mussels and Lobster sandwich is what we had. Got to be honest - mussels very good. We both had chips (fries) - must be the first time I have had underdone fries - not great. Lobster sandwich was fine but the bread was not special - tasted like a baguette you would get from Tesco and put in the oven but it was ok. I guess I was expecting more. The setting is a bit odd - tables not set with any cutlery or glasses which you would expect in a restaurant when you walk in. It wasn’t awful but it wasn’t great and I would likely not go back in the evening.

This place is amazing. I had a cappuccino and bacon, sausage, egg and chips. My wife had a veggie breakfast with complementary toast and a cup of tea. Total £16.10. Tasty food, great service, fantastic value 🙏🏻

A very friendly and relaxed atmosphere in Marimba cafe, with excellent service from the most friendly and professional staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Home made cakes and a huge variety of proper coffee and exotic hot chocolates to choose from. The wonderful girls who work in Marimba soon get to know you by name and everybody is made most welcome. I highly recommend!

I have meant to try the pie mash shop in Sudbury for ages but only got round to it today. I'm really sorry I didn't go before now as it was excellent. I only had a single pie and mash but it was plenty for me. The pie was perfect and the liquor was really good. I will definitely go back.

We came with my mother what has happened .. First of all we were ignored at the door not serving anyone as no one in! Had to call to be seated . Then had to call to get there attention to place order ! Should have walked out then Food came up scampi chips salad few dried up scampi heaps if chips! Wilted old salad. Medium cod was a very small over fried cod heaps of chips old salad. NO ONE CHECKED BACK I'm afraid will never go again awful you to be very good someone said they have changed management?

Have been to Huffers twice now and the food has been brilliant both occasions and is very reasonably priced. We were acknowledged in a friendly but unfussy manner (thats good in my book!) seated were we chose. A waitress asked were we ready to order within seconds of picking up a menu but lets us be to choose. We where brought a GIANT pot of tea and we ordered. I had a massive ham salad (had salad before, had it again because they are very good), husband had 2 sausage, 2 egg, 2 bacon, beans and chips. Ham was real ham, sausages were butchers type and bacon thick. We cannot fault the food at all and the portions are big. I cannot finish their salads, but they are perfect! Cost just under £21 for 2 BIG meals and enough tea for about 4-5 cups which is perfect for us.... and the pot had 3 tea bags, not the usual 1 - 2 so the tea was the perfect strength. We were not fussed over, but made to feel like valued and that is what counts.

Gotta be honest. I've never had a worse meal than that and it was priced astronomically high for what it was. Cold. Tasteless. Barely any toppings. Both chewy and crunchy, as if it was literally cardboard. I know people say that as a joke a lot of the time but it really actually was like cardboard... Sorta don't understand how a pizza can come out this poorly. I know that's pretty harsh but I just want to be honest. That was actually awful. In every single possible way. Thanks anyway though.

Such a great place to go for coffee and catch up with friends or study. Easy relaxed atmosphere, i had a soup panini deal which was lovely and good value too!

A great quality Sunday lunch with excellent and friendly service. Well cooked and presented main and dessert. Good options for vegetarians.

Myself and my partner how now become regulars eating at Ballingdon Valley and we are never disappointed. It was my bday and on arrival we were greeted by the lovely Zaynal who was very professional and attentive. Zaynal guided us through the wine list and we were very pleased with the bottle he recommended. Our waiter Kahled has always been very friendly and kind and has also helped me making choices of different dishes to try and also explains the ingredients in each dish and how mild or hot they maybe. Our food has always been excellent and we highly recommend, we come from Bury just for their service and great food. Thank you for a lovely bday and dinner we will definitely be seeing you soon. Came to the maldon grey for a spot of lunch as I felt lazy and didn't wanna cook. The Korean glazed pork belly went down a treat, probably a favourite now too. Look forward to coming back :)

Just visited to install a new card machine for the new owners. The place is a real bakery and smells great. A massive selection of cakes, pastries and bread. The new owners informed me that there will be some refurb going on soon but I will be back. Great friendly staff.
