Really enjoyable food, fresh ingredients and served really well. Service initially was good yet many missed opportunities to make additional sales from us. We asked many times for extra drinks and told yes-yes we come to you, nobody did. Anyway, like I said, the food was great.

We really love this restaurant. It feels authentic and offers a few hours of Italian escapism and wonderful food. There is a great range of fresh fish as daily specials so makes a great restaurant choice for fish lovers. I always have the fillet steak with one of the sauces and it’s always a great size and remains great value for money… it is rare you can find a fillet steak for under £35 these days, but they are all under £30 here. Beautiful hot bread upon ordering, lovely family service and good Italian wines that are also reasonably priced. We think it’s excellent value for money and a great Italian treat!

We dropped in for lunch on the Monday after Christmas. The open sandwiches we had were very good although the portion of chunky chips was small. The hotel has a lovely view over the beach which we enjoyed as we watched the world go by.

Excellent as always but noisy Christmas parties spoilt the atmosphere a bit. Surprised to see staff popping around the corner to smoke (no handwashing), in a food establishment. Not sure I understand the rationale behind the bar for drinks in what was the space with the best tables in the restaurant.

I'd driven past The White Horse loads of times and it always looked appealing. The car park seemed constantly busy and the reviews on here were good, which I also thought was a good sign. We decided to stop off on the way back from a football match for dinner on Saturday evening. I did book a table online first as I thought that Saturday might be busy. Arrived 15 minutes early, no problem though straight to the table. Drinks ordered and brought promptly and then ordered food. There is a really good selection on offer and we both decided to go for mains and desserts. The food was really nicely presented and came nice and hot, a pet annoyance of mine is tepid food, but not here. Red mullet with Parma ham served on a ‘bubble & squeak’ style curly kale & caper mash with lemon butter and crispy Parma ham and Venison Meatballs with roasted garlic & rosemary mash, braised red cabbage & redcurrant gravy. Both were excellent! We ordered desserts too which were equally good. The service is top notch, very attentive, but not intrusive and we didn't need to ask for anything the whole time we were there. No waiting for the bill either, simply walk to the welcome desk and my bill was ready for me. I couldn't recommend this Inn highly enough and I think this will be a regular stop now!
