Superb place to eat out no matter what the occasion. Lovely staff, lovely food and fairly priced.

The waitress was so sweet and attentive when we visited 25/10/24 in the evening for dinner. Lovely food and experience.

We visited Southend on Saturday and decided to have a lunch before going on the front, the booking was easy via website; unfortunately we were running late due to traffic, rang the restaurant and they were very understanding and told us not to worry. On arrival met by a young lad who was very well mannered noticed we had a 3 year old so got him some colouring straight away, a nice touch Food came out relatively quickly, the bbq ribs were excellent, but all the food was really. Good portion for the kids meal very reasonable priced All the staff were really friendly and excellent a real credit to the business. The restaurant itself is a bit dated (not a criticism) wouldn’t take much to give it a bit of a refurb but in all honesty this was a secondary concern when the food and service was so good Toilet light sensor was to the back of the room so was quite dark when door opened, would consider moving closer to the door but again not a criticism Would recommend and would return when we’re next in the area and thank you to the team for an excellent meal

Best restaurant in Southend by far. The food is incredible and the service is always great. Definitely try the salsa special sangria.

We had a very nice early dinner here. Several different tapas. All cooked well. All of us really enjoyed the meal. The service was great. Nothing was a problem. 4 beers A bottle of wine. 4 cokes Enough food for 4 people. Desert Less than £90

This is our favourite restaurant in Southend. The staff are so lovely and the food is tasty and plentiful.

My family and I went to Salsa Tapas and Grill Saturday, and we had an amazing time. The food was amazing, the service was top notch, and the atmosphere was incredible. All in all we had a brilliant time. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Went to Salsa Tapas & Grill with my family, for a birthday. We didn't have a reservation but we were able to get a table for our party of 8 (kids included). Everyone made us feel so welcome, and were absolutely lovely. The food and drinks were delicious. From the waitresses, to management to the food and drinks. It was a wonderful evening out. Thank you all for an enjoyable day!

What a fantastic restaurant. We got to celebrate our twins 18th here and as on our previous visit, a year or more ago, the food and service was fantastic.

I went to lunch here, with my daughter for my Birthday, it was the first time, we had been to Salsa, we were greeted like long lost friends, the food was amazing, we had Tapas, the food was delicious , this restaurant is really worth a visit, it is spacious and very reasonable, will definitely go back, lovely people, thank you!

A friendly welcome and atmosphere. All the staff we encountered were very kind. Our waitress in particular was amazing, especially with the attention she gave to our daughter. We had an assortment of tapas. Great taste, and well proportioned. Thank you!

We went here to celebrate my partners birthday and had an amazing time. Food was an 8/10 but the service is what made the experience so memorable! We were served by a lovely Portuguese waitress in the red shirt all night (unfortunately we did not catch her name). One guest has a gluten allergy and was wonderfully catered for, with the waitress and chef checking all of the ingredients and even serving a dish with the sauce on the side so this guest could still enjoy the food. Would definitely come back here again and will recommend it to others!

Always an amazing experience. The service is fast and great. The food is always delicious. The restaurant is family friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed, it's not too loud or crowded.

I rarely write reviews but this restaurant deserves a well earned 5 star rating. As a regular customer I have never been disappointed with the standard of food and excellent service I have always received. I have no hesitation in highly recommending this delightful restaurant to anyone who visits it!!

Been here three times now. The service is astonishing, even when it's very busy. The food, We've never had a bad meal. This time we chose not to have the Tapas. I had the sea bream which was recommended by the lovely and friendly waitress Beatrice. Isabel was amazing too and came to chat with us to ensure we had a great meal and did my liquor coffee which was also amazing The fish was sublime, hot vegetables and suate potatoes cooked to perfection. One of the best main courses I've ever had and at a very reasonable price.

Having regularly visited and been so impressed it made tonight's experience extra disappointing. I appreciate it's a busy Saturday night but having waited 25 minutes after the main dishes were cleared we gave up hope of a dessert or coffee and went to ask for the bill. On arrival we were greeted with a frosty 'Have you got a booking ' from the manager/owner, a stark contrast to the waitresses who always recognise us and greet us warmly. The food wasn't up to it's usual standard, the chops and prawns on the tapas lacked flavour and were both tough. We weren't allowed to use our loyalty discount (which is usual in many establishments on a weekend) and we fully understood and accepted. There really wasn't any need for the manager/owner to tell us at least 3 times while we paid the bill that it is stated on the website, we weren't arguing! Disappointing service from the person you would expect to give the best on arrival and departure. Coupled with poor service and food, I doubt we will return.

Good food and drink, reasonable priced and lovely staff. We try to get here once a week, the missus loves thier fishy pasta.

I visited this restaurant with my dad to celebrate my birthday. When we came in, we instantly got greeted and served by two waitresses, Beatrice and Isabell. Their service was outstanding. I noticed some Portuguese dishes on the menu I never tried and the one woman (Beatrice) told me they were Portuguese and recommended me to try Espetada as they told me it’s a well respected dish in Portugal. It was lovely. After eating my dinner, I ordered a Pastel de Nada, which both waitresses bought out with candles in singing me happy birthday. When I told them both about an exam I got tomorrow, they wished me well and gave me a hug for good luck. The other waitress asked me what I’d like to do after college (Isabell), and I told them I want to run my own business in the future. They said that I have a great aspiration and hope I do well. If I rate them higher than 5 stars on Google Maps, I will because they went above and beyond with their customer service. Both of them deserve a medal.

First of all I want to apologise for how long it has taken me to write a review! I booked a table for myself and husband on 4th November for my birthday. The food and service were spot on! I would especially like to thank Beatris and Isabella for going above and beyond for us. We left to go home to find that our car had been locked in the car park and we were unable to get the car seat out to get my newborn daughter safely home in a taxi. I went back to the restaurant to change and feed my daughter as she has woken up and Beatris asked if we were OK. She offered reassurance and support and asked around if anyone could help get us home. Beatris asked Isabella who offered us a lift from her husband which was extremely kind but unfortunately as we didn't have a car seat I did not want to take the risk. Both Beatris and Isabella continued to ask around if anyone could help get us home. An hour later we manged to get our brother-in-law to collect us but their hospitality didn't stop there. Isabella walked across the road holding an umbrella while my husband carried my daughter as it was pouring with rain, she then came back for me with the pram. She then gave us an umbrella to keep. I cannot thank the staff enough for looking after us. It's overwhelming being a new Mum and for the first time I wanted to go out with my daughter for dinner as it was my birthday. She was completely content until we couldn't get home and the staff really helped make this experience less stressful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope you are both recognised for your kindness and you all have a wonderful Christmas and New year. I highly recommend Salsa, you will be well and truly taken care of. ❤️

Although the place was nice inside it felt cool. I used the handycaped bathroom had no heating and was very cold. There Christmas tree was very beautiful

Our service and meal was amazing. Beatrice who helped us was lovely and involved all the children in helping with using the card machine for everyone paying. Honestly cannot wait to come back again!

I had a birthday meal here a few years ago which was fab. We recently moved back to the area so attempted to have lunch here with our toddler who had an epic tantrum. We tried to stay as the food looked stunning but we only managed a jug of sangria before giving up from embarrassment (naturally she was an angel ten minutes after we left). Anyway the staff were superb about the racket she made (luckily it wasnt a busy time) and we will be returning asap (without toddler! lol)

The food was tired and poorly plated. with there being cinnamon in the cheese nachos mistakenly and the guacamole being an unpleasant green paste. My wife did not enjoy her enchiladas “ sad it was bland “. I had the chicken enchiladas with diced chicken breast…supposedly to be pulled apart chicken breast and it being something you eat with a knife and fork was served in a bowl…

Amazing place with amazing food.

Unfortunately one of our dishes was cold but it was nice. The enchiladas were pretty tasty The rice was a bit bland. Grilled chicken with mushroom white wine sauce and mash was cold but tasted nice.

We had a party of 20 booked and were all looked after very well. Food came out all together and nice and hot. Very tasty too. Will definitely return.

Was visiting for the first time. It was my best friends Hen. As soon as we all walked in, it was so clean and fresh. Great vibe and the staff are absolutely wonderful so kind and actually make an effort to talk to you. And oh my lord, the food! What can I say, it taste like heaven! I was absolutely stuffed 🙏 perfectly cooked. Wasn't waiting long. Cocktails taste divine 😋 .... Will be visiting again ! Absolutely recommend for anyone visiting Southend 🙌 it's my best friends favourite place hence why we had the Hen party meal there. And I can see why it's her favourite 😍

We love coming to Salsa, the staff are always happy and welcoming. And the food is always amazing, we usually come along when we are celebrating something. We can't wait to come back again it's one of our favourite restaurants to go to. Keep up the good work. We will be back soon. A special mention to James who we didn't get to thank as his shift ended before we left. He was very welcoming and helpful 😊

If you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere, great service and wonderful food then Salsa is the place for you. It is wise to book as it gets busy but the staff have always found a space for us somewhere if we arrive with no reservation. Between 5-7 it is happy hour and I would recommend trying the cocktails if you happen to be there then.

Arrived.. asked to sit outside.. told to pay before food.. OK... be back 5 mins to take your order. 10 mins.. no show.. I went in and asked if I can order.. was told to order myself at bar.. I asked why didn't you tell me that when I 1st came in.. OK go outside I come and take order... I just left.. not good... My reply to you... Sorry but your staff instructions were clear.. sit down and I be back 5 mins to take your order. So maybe you should have a word with staff...

Asked if we could sit outside and was told yes but you must pay before we said that’s not a problem, she said I come out and take your order in a few minutes when she gave us the menu’s - we waited and waited she never came out so my wife went in and ask if we could order she said you must order at the bar and she said you never told us that you said you come out in a few minutes and take our orders. Awful service so we left. No food and hungry. Thanks for your response but we was not told any of that information that there was no table service, also I am dyslexic - we just asked if we could sit outside , no mix up to be honest it was bad communication from your staff.

Always a delight, from start to finish. Food is outstanding. The prawns are cooked to perfection. The squid melts in your mouth literally! Prompt service! Everything was clean and fresh! Would highly recommend 👌 3 tapas dished per person too share is the absolute perfect amount for sure!

Enjoyed the Sangria and tapas but believe one of the fish dishes(calamari) did our stomachs 2-3 hours later. Without being too graphic, I had dodgy guts for the next couple of days after.

Took my Dad on Friday as a Father's Day Treat. Could not fault a single thing we both loved the food and the service.

Tasty and cheap food in an atmospheric place with friendly service.

We were attracted by the glowing reviews for this place but I'd say it was just OK. We stopped by for a small bite to eat so got a few small tapas. Chicken skewers, Chicken and Chorizo, Spicy Chips, Caesar salad and Calamari. The food tasted good, but there was something off about the calamari which was squidgy and every bite had a weird bit of resistance to it like an elastic band. The drinks were excellent. I had a Stella from draught which tasted crisp and fresh. Others in our group had sangria and house red which were also nice. I appreciate we came around lunch time but it was dark and drab inside, and service was a little on the slow side. The highlight for me was the great tasting beer, but I don't think the calamari sat well with us as we all had dodgy tummies by the evening, which is unfortunate and is the reason for the 3 stars.

Very nice good price for what you get. My only issue as to why I put the star down was the food could have been a bit better. It's good but the chicken was a tad dry and the ribs although fell off the bone still a little chewy almost like it was re heated. It still had good flavour and everything was good just small things.

Bread with allioli was cheap part bake bread. Spanish ham was out of a supermarket pack. Not given a steak knife to cut in-between the pork ribs, they ended up on the table when my husband tried to cut them with a normal dinner knife. Jug of sangria was ok but weak. Waitress service was good. Very disappointed though. Wouldn't go again

We had the fish paella, it was absolutely beautiful. Will be going back again very soon.

A hidden gem! By far our favourite restaurant in Southend! We have the perfect dining experience everytime we visit. The owners are so lovely warm, welcoming and very attentive as are all the staff there. The menu is 10/10 and the food is absolutely delicious and priced well. You can tell everything is made fresh and of good quality unlike certain chain restaurants that microwave everything. Evening entertainment is great too which makes an ideal night for celebrations. Can not fault this place.

We had the chicken but it tasted like fish. Staff are great but for the price you pay not great food.
