The best restaurants in East of England

Excellent chippy, great service

Its a lovely location and great that its dog friendly. We found it in the summer for coffee with friends which was excellent. We returned for breakfast and service was so slow we said we wouldn't return. However, we like the place, so returned with friends on Saturday who parked in Waitrose for 90 minutes. We waited a full hour for food by which time our friends had to go and move her car. The waitress was good enough to bring a new tea-cake so it would be hot but the rest of us had eaten our breakfast without her. Had it been our first slow breakfast we have been more forgiving but, despite the delicious bacon, lovely setting and being dog friendly we won't return for a third try.

Good stopover on way to North Norfolk Coast from London. Handy for accessing Lynford Arboretum! Good not just for coffee stop (as on this occasion!) but for lunch at other times. Can recommend; good service, food and drinks.

We have been here 3 times now. We normally order all the sides and dips as they are so delicious to go with our steaks. We always look forward to coming because it’s great food reasonably priced and we have never been disappointed! Two of the 3 times we visited we had the most fantastic waitress. Jess. She’s so kind and thoughtful and was great with our son. She’s the kind of waitress you actually remember compared to the others. We are now loyal customers. This is 100 percent the best place for steak in Cambridge. It won’t let you down.

This is possibly the best Italian restaurant I have been to. The food was amazing, the portions were a good size and the staff were fantastic!

My husband and I had lunch at the dusty miller today, I had chicken wings, my husband had seafood, we both had the wagu burger. Both were very tasty. We were served by the temp manager Callum ( hope I spelled it correctly) Lovely young guy !!! He knows how to treat the customers. That’s coming from a retired pub manager. *****

Have been returning customers for over a year now,,, the restaurant is lovely, always welcoming & friendly, The food is freshly cooked & delicious (never had a bad meal here) nice selection of daily specials too! The wine selection is very good, especially the red wines, we would visit just for those! Highly recommend, definitely in our top 5 places to eat - look forward to another visit soon ☺️

We visit the sandmartin on Thursdays for dinner and the quiz. It's best to book a table as sometimes there are a lot of teams entered. Megan does a brilliant job of reading out the questions and answers. She also helps us oldies when we can't scan the QR code or if we lose the page altogether. Always with a smile! The atmosphere is fun and loud and always entertaining. Thanks Megan. Keep up the good work. See you next Thursday.

Unfortunately there were 13 of us, so we were on two tables, celebrating a 60th birthday, however the staff were very attentive and the food was excellent. Everyone enjoyed themselves.

Best meal we had in England. Been here for 1 week from the US. This place was recommended by cab driver.

Excellent food friendly staff can’t rate it highly enough. The menu has a varied and wide selection to meet everybody’s needs. Lovely garden. The staff are friendly helpful and we didn’t have to wait a long time for our drinks and food. It is very personable great place to go with friends and family as it caters for everybody’s needs. You are also allowed pets and they provide water for them.
