Nice place to stop on walk around Woburn deer park. Good beers, great sausage rolls and other bar snacks. Not the cheapest and service can be very slow at times, but it is still a lovely place to stop.

Sunday lunch here today Food pretty good Camembert starter excellent Onion soup needed more seasoning but nice Lunches good - felt the sides were a bit pricey We couldn’t stay for dessert as our eldest needed to get back to Leeds uni and it took almost an hour and three quarters for starters and mains I did mention it and they were apologetic, it was just a bit of a shame as we were enjoying the food and would have happily had a pud (plus there’d have been a bit more money through the till)

I was quite apprehensive about this place due to reading some of the negative reviews. However, I was pleasantly surprised how welcoming the staff was, very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and piping hot. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed their meals. The meal came out pretty quickly. We didn't have to wait too long. The waitresses were absolutely lovely. I would definitely go back if we are in that neck of the woods.

Food tasted delicious. However, expensive. £11:50 for 1 beef croquette. Service sadly was poor. Had to ask for our cutlery, not asked once how our food was. Pepper pots empty. Real shame as the food was really good.

not very good, the young server did not wether they sold cider on drought and could not pick out the cider on the menu so I had a coke! The food came and we could not figure out what was the lamb as it was somthered in beef gravy, the server said which it was but it was beef. The servers need more training so would not blame the servers its the owners fault! We won't be returning.

This was our first time at The Green Man. Celebrating our wedding anniversary. We waited for a good 10 minutes before somebody arrived behind the bar and asked if we were waiting to be served. We had booked a table so we decided to go straight through to dinner. We were seated and advised the waitress would return in a couple of minutes to take our drinks order. We waited 20 minutes and finally decided to call someone over to ask for a drink. The food was nothing special given the price and the wait time between courses. The crab fritter starter was disappointing. The delicate taste of white crab meat was lost in the stodgy balls/batter. My very basic pasta rigatoni arrived cold eventually after yet again a very long wait. There were 2 steak dishes on the menu which my husband ordered one to be told they had no steaks left at 8pm. And just to top it all off when asking for the bill, we were given a bill with nothing on it! Very disappointing visit.

I called in with a friend for lunch today. We were asked had we booked ? We said No. We were told only three staff were were working that day. My friend asked innocently if the chef was working that day ? The woman said - Well that is very rude !! We were a bit taken aback Well it wasn't rude it was just a question !! We were grudgingly given a table in the restaurant and were made to feel extremely unwelcome. Talk about bad customer service. So we left and had a very good lunch in Woburn - luckily I would point out that I have eaten there very many times in the past with friends

Exceptional food. We came here in April with a friend and were blown away by everything. We booked a stay in Centre Parks in Sep and thought as we were in the area, we'd have dinner here again, hoping that our first experience wasn't a one off. Glad to say it wasn't, the menu had changed somewhat (potentially seasonal) but everything we had was utterly delicious. The staff were great, very friendly and accommodating given we had a 7y.o and a newborn. We were stuffed after having starters and a main each but had to try deserts.. my wife had the sticky toffee which was the fluffiest, loveliest one we've ever tried (not cloying like they typically are) but still decadent. I had the lemon parfait and pretty much licked the plate clean. The kids burger was utterly gourmet, best pattie I've ever tasted for a kids meal and they even knocked us up an off menu side salad at our request. Oh and service isn't included so if you do go, make sure you sort out the staff, they deserve it!!

We were looking for a nice lunch to celebrate our son’s 19th birthday before he headed off on a weekend break later in the day. We had been before & liked the ambience of place & the food. As it was sunny we chose to sit outside in the courtyard. Service was friendly, efficient & polite - our waitress was Emily who was first class. There was a good choice of food on the menu & the dishes were nicely presented &, more importantly, tasty. All in all a very nice lunch in lovely surroundings with great service. The 1st server was quite poor. As although we ordered an aperitif decided she was going to take the wine glasses away without even asking us if we were going to be ordering wine. The barman needs to know when serving Gin & Tonics not to pour the whole bottle into the Gin. Especially when Fentimans mixers as they are very large bottles. Couldn’t help wonder if it was so you ordered an extra Gin to go with your tonic. On the whole the food was decent with the exception of the ribs that were all bone & very little meat & the chicken in the season salad was bordering on being under cooked. Having eaten there before when the food was exceptional I was surprised the menu had been paired down an awful but offer so many burger option. Very strange for a restaurant of that calibre. Personally I won’t ge going back in a hurry as so many more better options close by. Such a shame as in such a beautiful setting & such a lovely old pub.

Greeted and shown to our table by a server who clearly didn't want to be there, or serve or be in that particular job. Perhaps she didn't want us to be here. Plonked our Sparkling water down in the bottle and just walked off. Did we do something wrong? We did consider leaving but we were in for the duration, and it was our first year wedding anniversary. Food was average, one of the pickles on the charcuterie board looked like it had been kicked about a bit, that was definitely inedible. Music was pretty loud but I couldn't see the dancefloor from where we were sat. I am taking a wild guess here, but I think they are understaffed and overworked and that's why tables weren't cleared and staff seemed unhappy. Or it could be that they're not into working in hospitality. Either way, 'I got fed' is the best three words to describe the experience. Try greeting your customers like they are valuable to your business and that you are in some small way pleased pleased to see them.

A lovely looking pub in a pretty village but didn’t quite reflect this inside. As soon as we walked in we were given a death stare by the head waitress, to call her surly is to be polite. She was not at all welcoming, threw things down on our table and walked away before we even had the chance to order more drinks or condiments. We almost got up and left after our drinks were ordered. The atmosphere was odd, it wanted to be more of a wine bar, music was loud and everyone is really on top of each other. The waitress got our order wrong, by this point we couldn’t even be bothered to say anything. Maybe coming on a Sunday was our mistake but if you can’t get a roast right then it isn’t very promising for the rest of the menu. Over hearing why chicken wasn’t on the menu was interesting as everywhere else who offer a roast can manage it. If felt like the bar area was prioritised over booked tables in the restaurant. Safe to say we won’t be back. As for the price, you don’t get what you pay for, have had far better, with desert, for the same money.

I booked the Green Man after it was recommended by a friend. My friend had said they went there with their son and it was a really nice place for dinner. However, when my family and I arrived for our reservation the only way I could describe the welcome was frosty. I had booked dinner as a treat for my husband and our 2 year old came with us. The waitress looked completely confused why we had shown up with a child (the website claims it’s family friendly) and seemed to be completely thrown off by our attendance. No matter, I thought, maybe I had left off that we needed a high chair?! But even after this, the waitress was almost scoffing that we had our daughter with us. Others in the restaurant also looked at us as if we had crashed a wedding. Despite another baby also being at the place.. needless to say they also didn’t stay long. The place itself is fine.. it’s a small pub out the front and then a restaurant out back. It’s pretentious which is nice if you want to dress up and have a nice glass of wine. I don’t think you can advertise being family friendly and also be a winery style gastro pub. It’s identity is a little confused. The food, sadly, was way below average, my knife wouldn’t cut through the beef and I had to leave it on my plate. The only food on offer on a Sunday is a roast and that is the same for children too. Regrettably we will not be going back there as a family.

Booked a table for Sunday lunch, friendly waitress, spotlessly clean restaurant with a nice atmosphere. I ordered the lamb my wife went for the beef, both cooked to perfection with a good assortment of veg & nice crispy roast potatoes with Yorkshire pudding. Could not fault the food or service, My only slight disappointment is the standard of dress other diners turn up in, I really think when its 13 deg outside there is no excuse for people to go into a restaurant wearing shorts & tea-shirts, Its such a shame people have let their standards slip. It just seems a shame restaurants can’t impose dress code.

Chose to have Sunday dinner here as the reviews looked so good.. but they must be for the weekday menu? As the roast was awful, worst I’ve ever had which resulted in me leaving 70% of the dinner. The one carrot was rock hard. Potatoes are usually my favourite thing on a roast, but these tasted like they had been boiled and then cooked in the oven for 10 minutes. So disappointing. £18 for each roast, £10 spent on extras (cauliflower cheese and stuffing), which is average but it’s just so disappointing wasting money on awful food, especially when I’m going to have to either order a takeaway or make something.

Maybe because I was expecting too much but this place didn’t really live up to my expectations. The staff were friendly enough and we were actually served by Candice for some of the time. The food was ok, good burgers & steak but nothing more outstanding than the usual gastro pub standard. The desserts were a mixed bag, one fantastic (crumble!) one average and one inedible. Decor was cosy but modern. The table layouts are great - not too close. For a Saturday night there wasn’t any atmosphere although it was quite busy. Despite the numerous fireplaces spread around the different bar and eating areas, not one of them were lit. The member of staff who greeted us, was pleasant enough. We took our coats off, before seating, but pretty quickly put them back on again as the place was really cold. We decided we would give lunch a miss and after finishing our drinks promptly left to go and find an establishment that offered a warm welcome.

I have rated this 'average' because generally the staff and the atmosphere was pleasing enough. To be frank the food was disappointing. It was Sunday and the food was limited to a selection of roast and a fish dish. I was area of this when I booked. Frankly I expected more and indeed, better. Despite being called to our table for 8 on time at 2pm the roast potatoes that arrived had clearly been standing around and had that powdery flavour. Surely you can do better than that GM??? Such vegetables that we were served were hidden under the yorkshire and comprised a small potion of cabbage and some peas. That was it. We shan't be back.

As a couple who are vegetarian if not vegan, it often feels like you miss out at many restaurants, the vegetarian or vegan options being the same tired stereotypical choices. At the Green Man however that is absolutely not the case, with even the fixed price menu offering an equal number of choices. What’s more, the chargrilled courgette main course not only looked beautiful and tasted great, but it was a very generous portion size - yes often vegetarian options are not only uninspiring, they are also quite mean considering the (generally) cheaper ingredients. We also had the plant based burger which was equally excellent, with bonus points for great chips and tasty, homemade coleslaw. Finally the sticky toffee pudding was probably the best I have ever had, though perhaps not completely surprising considering who the owner is. The service was friendly, attentive but never intrusive, and the surroundings spacious and comfortable. The way they have combined outdoor, formal indoor and informal pub areas works well and made taking our dog very easy. Finally the whole thing was excellent value for money, with 3 courses for two with drinks and (well deserved) service charge, coming in at significantly less than the cost of a tank of fuel. This was our first visit but it certainly won’t be our last. Highly recommended.

We visited as a family and throughly enjoyed our mains - the kids burger and chips was huge and the adults mains were equally filling and very tasty. In fact, the gluten free Cajun burger was the best burger I have ever had. The bun...

Lovely beer garden with plenty seating in and out. Beer selection was OK with two handpumps. Food looked OK although menu wasn't largest choice we have seen at pubs.

Really lovely pub, the setting could not be nicer, a real picture postcard location. Beer selection was solid, the wine list clearly had a lot of thought put into it. We ordered a charcuterie and it was excellent. Has to be one of the nicest pubs in the area.

My wife, son and I were out for a walk. We stopped in at the Green Man for lunch and enjoyed our visit very much. The food was brilliant, drinks were cold and tasty and we were served quickly and efficiently! Couldn't have asked for more!

We came for our anniversary meal and the food and service was amazing as usual, we had our 3 month old with us and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating.

OK, but dinner plate cold, hence the only hot part of dinner was where the chicken sat on the centre of wild garlic mash.

Unfortunately for a Friday evening it was extremely quiet - we were the only ones in the restaurant after 9pm. There was more staff than guests so no atmosphere at all. The food was very good- and the staff were helpful but just no atmosphere...

Tried this pub today as myself and husband are trying a different pub for lunch every week. Food was good however the staff should learn that you can hear everything they say behind the bar when complaining about their customers, very poor. Very disappointing and...

Sunday Roast at 4PM, two people, two courses + bottle of red at £86. This was a pub we were looking forward to dining at so feel rather disappointed having to write this review. On the plus side the Green Man is decorated to a...

Comfortable surroundings in the bar area. Had a really good couple of snacks & coffee. The Eversholt Sausage Roll with a brown sauce relish was excellent. The Goatscheese Toastie hit the sweet spot. Service was reasonably quick despite a busy restaurant.

Visited for coffee and cake, apparently this has been taken over recently so the current service does not seem to reflect the previous reviews on this site. We waited for ages for a couple of coffees and cake to be brought over, was also pretty smoky in there from whatever was cooking. Plus point was that the cakes we had were really nice, the coffee was nice but lukewarm and the 15 minutes it took to get them wasn't great. Also, some of the décor is a bit worn out. The place was not busy when we visited mid-morning so could really do a lot better.

We went for breakfast and really enjoyed it. Our breakfast cost £14 which included a drink. The hot chocolate was delicious and food was lovely with great variety. Only thing we would say, the breakfast would benefit from some maple syrup/butter for the waffle in particular. The man that served us was lovely. Thank you.

Excellent little cafe. All the basics and more. The local authority should put a canopy over the seating area to shade from the sun and shelter from the rain.

Were not allowed to sit down inside because "we can push tables closer". There were more free tables than taken.

Hot & cold drinks, bacon / sausage sandwiches, excellent sausage rolls (very good quality) pastries etc Lots of outside seating, geared towards cyclists there are bicycle racks and a sales / repair shop on site. The owner is friendly and it seems very popular as lots of cyclists came and went while we were there. Would definitely visit again when I’m next in the area.
