Excellent fish & chips again tonight, fish was fresh & delicious, batter was crisp, chips were just as they should be. 5*

As a family we have used the regal fish and chip restaurant over many years, we visited again this week, the quality of the food was amazing and the portion size of the large fish and chips was huge especially the fish which over hung my plate on both sides. My daughter and her friend had Gluten Free fish and chips and chose to have haddock, they said the batter was light and crispy and the best Gluten Free fish and chips they had ever had, would highly recommend and we will definitely be returning.

Claims to be vegetarian friendly yet everything is cooked in beef dripping. No signs anywhere near where you have to queue so wasted an hour of my life queuing for food I can’t eat. Restaurant looked dirty and dated.

Rainy day in Felixstowe so dived in for lunch. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent as usual - good range of specials too. Highly recommend the Crab Salad!

A lovely find on a chilly day. Great service, staff attentive and friendly. Fish and chips very delicious , hot and freshly cooked, ordered the medium which was very big the large was huge! I always visit the Regal fish and chip shop for their fabulous gluten free options and amazing service. I don't live locally but it's worth the drive as this is the only fish and chip place I trust wholeheartedly to provide safe, uncontaminated gluten free food. High quality fish and generous portions. The staff are so friendly and wonderful too - I absolutely love this place and can't recommend enough!

The regal restaurant is one of teh ebst fish and Chip restaurants that I know. Not only does it proivide excellent meals and a good menu it also does excellent Gluten Free offering. The Regal is always my first choice when in Felixstowe and its advised to book as everyone knows this secret gem.

Ordered the large cod and chips, twice, as a takeaway. Sat on the sea wall looking out to sea, eating with our fingers and a fork. It was very good. Another visit is planned there next time we are in Felixstowe.

We had battered sausage and burger with chips. It said they were butchers sausages. They were inedible. Pink, undercooked, with a skin on them which made me feel sick! The burger was absolutely swimming in grease. As were the undercooked, pale chips. Dreadful! We put the whole lot in the bin! Will definitely avoid in future

Great experience today with our lovely lunch. Served by Kurtis who was friendly and chatty. He took time to explain the gluten free options available and then clearly separated the items. The food was tasty and hot. Choice was good and prices fair. All in all a lovely lunch served by the friendly Kurtis. Would definitely order again. Thank you.

The food was nice but nothing special. Only had takeaway as the restaurant was closed. The staff were helpful and the portion size was generous.

What a disappointment. We've always enjoyed our fish and chips at the Regal but not today. We both had haddock and chips and the batter was far too thick and spoilt the meal and the chips were undercooked. The batter was so thick that in places it wasn't cooked. We mentioned to the waitress and she said she would let the chef know but we didn't hear any more.

Usually have really good fish and chips here, but.... Closing time stated as 2.30. Arrived about 2.05pm, and was turned away as chef was 'closing'!! Hmm - why say you shut at 2.30 when it's really more like 2.07?! So we went to the other one - Fish Dish, open all day, and very good! Turning people away because you're closing earlier than stated, is unwelcoming and unprofessional! There are othet cafe/restaurants in Felixstowe!

The Regal is definitely one of the best fish and chip shops in Felixstowe. In the top three with Fish Dish and Saltwater. Always good food and good prices.

Excellent food, we had Cod and chips, so lovely and very generous portions of fish, service was good, friendly, best to book as can get busy, you will not be disappointed in the food, make sure you have room for the meal.

Disappointed with the chips certainly not up to your usual standards. Your fish and chips are always delicious but this time fell short of expectations. Yes we did mention to the waitress when she enquired if we were enjoying our meal the response was they were not your usual potatoes and there had been several comments as to the quality of the chips. Hopefully you will be able to source your usual standard of potatoes in the near future.

We had an excellent meal here today (10/6). I had Cod and Chips, my wife had Scampi as did my granddaughter. Please note that online the Regal is said to open at 11.30, however, we were told they still hadn’t updated their online opening times as it’s now midday. Even though we were a bit early they still asked us in and accommodated us. We were seated at our table and the lady looking after us was great, speaking with our granddaughter. The drinks arrived quickly, as did our meals. Piping hot. Beautiful, huge portions. Excellent stuff as always at the Regal. Gets very busy, very quickly and not surprised. Thanks to all the girls who came over to speak to us and our granddaughter. We shall return again.

Although the seating area is currently closed, this restaurant is offering take away food. You can either order in advance and you get a ticket number and a time of pick up. You then go in the restaurant (mask required) and pick up your food....
